I will proudly lose to Lovie Smith any day of the weekSorry, you caught us at a bad time. Not much for good old my team is better than yours banter.
But you don't want to be around here if the Bears lose to this team.

Yep. He’s a career back up. He doesn’t scare anyoneYou really think Fields is garbage?
You know this after he's played 12 games, two different coaches, two offensive systems and his best target is a 5th rounder? What's your profession in NFL scouting?Yep. He’s a career back up. He doesn’t scare anyone
Another Ohio State QB.You really think Fields is garbage?
I don't believe in losing.I will proudly lose to Lovie Smith any day of the week
He started at Wake Forest didn’t he?Another Ohio State QB.
He started at Wake Forest didn’t he?
Georgia, where he couldn't beat out Jake Fromm. LOL
Some guys take time to mature... Look at Tom Brady. Nobody thought much of him at Michigan and look where he ended up. I think Justin will be fine. Maybe top 15, not saying top 10. I am not saying he will be the next Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, Peyton Manning, throw whatever name here. I think as long as he has proper coaching and the team continues to upgrade positions (WR, OL), he could get better. He still has some rookie mistakes in him. Again, like that one guy said, he hasn't even played 17 games yet and is already on his second HC/OC. Give it time before rushing judgment. We only have a small sample here.
RE: OL - The Bears have a few guys in the top 10 for rushing protection. So they have some building blocks there. Still a LONG way to go.
If he becomes top 15 he will be the best QB since Cutler/McMahon.
I dont think Fields will ever be top 15 and a good friend of mine/Bears fan hopes I'm wrong, but he sees what I'm talking about.
Holding on too long? Not trusting OL? Scrambling before its really necessary? I see those same things, but those are typical traits of a rookie QB that can be ironed out with the right coaching/staff.
Mills needs to be able to throw the ball within five yards from the receiver first. Our fans are expecting Mills to already be playing like a 10 yr vet. I'm thinking that some Bears fans are thinking the same way?

It seems like most people expect a low-scoring game.Maybe if I pick the Bears to win, we’ll actually win a freaking game. Lol
Bears 19
Texans 17
Texans have the lead through three and smoke it away again in the 4th.
If only all could be so logicalEvery team with a rookie QB expects the same thing. They see how fast someone like Justin Herbert took off in rookie year and expect the same. Josh Allen didn't put it together until year 3. Everyone's too impatient. For us, we know we are not a playoff team. This year is about progress and finding those building blocks for next year and beyond. Time will tell on Justin Fields. I'm going to wait until November/December to determine if he's made progress to warrant year 3.

YesIs Houston a football, baseball, or basketball town?
Yes sir big time football town. But we love baseball and basketball too.Is Houston a football, baseball, or basketball town?
Chicago is definitely a Bears town
I'm blaming your weed, unless you have proofWhy does the thread title say week 2 when it's week 3?
Was it a Bears town when Bulls were winning? Chicago is on of those cities where they support their teams even when they don't deserve to be supported. Look at the Cubs. 1 ws in like 100 yearsIs Houston a football, baseball, or basketball town?

Yeah, I watched that Pivot podcast and it was a great look for Stroud to me. Seems like a very humble, hard working young man. You can just see it because he wasn't a big time recruit from the jump. Not only that, he didn't jump in the portal and fended off competition (Ewers).Fields has some high ceiling traits. Mobility, athleticism, the arm, the accuracy. I think he’s a smart player. He’s a competitive player. But two things working against him, processing past his first read (not having his accustomed stable of weapons) has not sped up his development. Two is the coaching and system he is running (we see similar things with Mills and Texans coaching-Pep Hamilton offense).
Warranting year 3 seems fair to me at this point. Justin is more methodical with his process. He is staring down his reads. When he’s open, he hits it, move the chains and keep going. Each team has a different philosophy on how they attack this position. If it was easy to evaluate, we’d have better than a 50-50 bust rate, but we don’t. Bears are betting on his traits, his smartness, toughness and leadership. There’s a lot he brings to the locker room. He’s not a for everybody type of quarterback, especially SteelbTexan, but he impressed CJ Stroud enough he wanted to understudy as a freshman and meant a lot personally to him.
Mills might get benched if he doesn’t get it together.Looks like no Driskel this week:

Texans’ Kyle Allen to back up Davis Mills, Jordan Akins, Grayland Arnold elevated
Kyle Allen is slated to back up Texans starting quarterback Davis Mills on Sunday against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.www.click2houston.com
Mills might get benched if he doesn’t get it together.
I believe that would be a mistake.Mills might get benched if he doesn’t get it together.
Scare tactics. That’s where we’re atI believe that would be a mistake.
Probably because of the sore thumb.Mills might get benched if he doesn’t get it together.
Yeah, I was thinking better to have Allen than Driskell this week in case you need a real QB due to the thumbProbably because of the sore thumb.
Davis Mlls couldn't beat out KJ Costello. Is that funny?Georgia, where he couldn't beat out Jake Fromm. LOL
Dang Tyler is inactive again. What was the purpose of signing him if they weren’t going to play him.Texans' inactives : Brevin Jordan (ankle), Tyler Johnson, Isaac Yiadom (thigh), Jake Hansen, Austin Deculus (foot), Kurt Hinish (foot)
Bears' inactives: Velus Jones Jr., Jaylon Johnson, Ja'Tyre Carter, Dane Cruikshank, Matt Adams and Ryan Griffin
Agreed. But if he even tried to play through his recent quad injury (a discussion being had by the team on Thursday), he would have been a bigger negative for you all, and a bigger positive for us.Jaylon being out is a good thing for you guys, bad for us![]()
Smith is coming back out of necessity for the the Bears. Even the mildest of hip pointers should be given ~2 weeks of rest/rehab. I'll be watching him, but I expect his performance today will be compromised.Looks like Roquan Smith will be playing today.
And Tyler Johnson is inactive yet again.
