Reverse that. HahahaCooks Will be the deep threat
Collins will be the possession guy
Mechie will be that quick monster in the slot that will also double as the punt and kick returner.
His routes are so good, some have said he is almost unguardable. He’s a very polished, speedy WR, who like Ojabo would not last this long if not for injury. Love it!
Maybe in a year or so, not out the gate tho…Reverse that. Hahaha
Menchie is the deep route runner
Cook is the slot
Collins is X
They said his ACL is ahead of schedule and he will be ready for training camp.Maybe in a year or so, not out the gate tho…
I've wanted a receiver like that for so long. Coutee and Braxton Miller gave me false hope. His routes are so good, some have said he is almost unguardable.
Why do you dislike this pick or player? Can't say I'm feeling this one. Hopefully I'm wrong, but this is the first pick (with the trade) of the Texans' draft that I truly dislike.
Welkerish? His routes are so good, some have said he is almost unguardable.
Doesn't beat you with speed like Wan'Dale Robinson, but more with finesse.
Nice comparison.Welkerish?
I don't like the trade. Why do you dislike this pick or player?
Highly polished player. Probably best route runner in draft or in top 2. 96 catches this season and 55 year before in a WR room filled with first round draft picks. This is a ready made starting WR especially if he is available by training camp as suggested.Welkerish?
I wouldn't say I dislike him- just that I don't like the value here. He seems like a perfectly fine, ho-hum kind of slot guy. He'll contribute, but I don't think he's ever going to be more than a number 3 that, ideally, you can push to the 4 spot. He runs nice routes, but he's not overly fast, not particularly quick, not big, not a natural hands catcher. I wouldn't say he is weak anywhere, but he doesn't bring any "wow" characteristics for me. Even his route-running (which seems to be the thing people like the most) isn't something I would say he does any better than some other receivers in this class. Why do you dislike this pick or player?
I honestly don’t think the FO is trying to fill every positional need in one draft.I don't like the trade.
Also running out of pure pass rushers. We're going to have to target pass rush specialists tomorrow
I wonder if Keyshawn Martin or Keith Mumphrey are still available?I've wanted a receiver like that for so long. Coutee and Braxton Miller gave me false hope.
For Picks 68, 108, and 124, we got pick 44.what did we give up in trade
To be fair given our roster we could've drafted from a pool of oompa loompas and we'd have four new starters..Bold move. I'm getting very interested in seeing how these picks pan out. That's potentially four new starters.
Yeah, I like the fact he’s just really polished and won’t need to be coached up at all. He’s a plug and play baller.Highly polished player. Probably best route runner in draft or in top 2. 96 catches this season and 55 year before in a WR room filled with first round draft picks. This is a ready made starting WR especially if he is available by training camp as suggested.
Not quick? Not overly fast?I wouldn't say I dislike him- just that I don't like the value here. He seems like a perfectly fine, ho-hum kind of slot guy. But, like I said, I hope I am wrong. And since I wouldn't call myself a scout by any stretch of the imagination, there is a good chance that I am.
Cooks will be so old by that time!Maybe in a year or so, not out the gate tho…
Speaking of which isn't this the 4th WR out of Alabama this year?Highly polished player. Probably best route runner in draft or in top 2. 96 catches this season and 55 year before in a WR room filled with first round draft picks. This is a ready made starting WR especially if he is available by training camp as suggested.
Bold move to go get a playmaker that offense desperately needs. I’m thinking now they’re ok with their front 7. They will have some decent choices in next year’s draft.I don't like the trade.
Also running out of pure pass rushers. We're going to have to target pass rush specialists tomorrow
I got to keep reminding myself if that.I honestly don’t think the FO is trying to fill every positional need in one draft.
Will see. Look forward to having another weapon for Mills.Maybe in a year or so, not out the gate tho…
Compared to the average guy? He's incredibly fast and quick. Compared to NFL WRs? Yeah, I don't think he is particularly fast or quick. I wouldn't call him slow, above average sounds about right. Not quick? Not overly fast?
Something like that.. 96 catches would have gotten over 100 if not injured in SEC title game. He is a target hog and chain mover. Exactly the type of WR Texans need. Just hope he makes a full recovery.Speaking of which isn't this the 4th WR out of Alabama this year?
Too much me thinksFor Picks 68, 108, and 124, we got pick 44.
Hopefully he's Marvin Harrison without the murder suspicions? His routes are so good, some have said he is almost unguardable.
Doesn't beat you with speed like Wan'Dale Robinson, but more with finesse.
Maybe, but tired of depth fodder and lacking top end talent. Metchie was one of the best WR’s left in the board and as we’ve seen, WR position is now a hot commodity.Too much me thinks
According to the draft chart, we won that trade by 84 points.Too much me thinks
That trade up was a steal for us by the main trade charts. By RH we gave up 56 to gain 62, and by JJ we gave up 126 to gain 200Too much me thinks
Pickens to the Steelers just now. He had an ACL too.Something like that.. 96 catches would have gotten over 100 if not injured in SEC title game. He is a target hog and chain mover. Exactly the type of WR Texans need. Just hope he makes a full recovery.
Thinking about washouts got me looking back at past Texans drafts. It's some hard reality to confront. 2013 and 2014 are especially bad, and the ones after aren't much better.I wonder if Keyshawn Martin or Keith Mumphrey are still available?
his quickness and route running will be above average & make him a complete mismatch for most teams’ nickel cb….which is what i think he’ll be facing most of the time.Compared to the average guy? He's incredibly fast and quick. Compared to NFL WRs? Yeah, I don't think he is particularly fast or quick. I wouldn't call him slow, above average sounds about right.
For what it's worth 2013 was historically bad for the league at large..Thinking about washouts got me looking back at past Texans drafts. It's some hard reality to confront. 2013 and 2014 are especially bad, and the ones after aren't much better.

I don't like the trade.

Antonio Brown: 5'10"Ran a pro style system, good hand and speed. IMO too small. Scouting reports are mixed about him looking smaller than he is! I would have gone RB. A slot WR not even 6' not feeling it
