Many of the decisions that Stroud has made this season have been totally independent of the oline inadequacies and the play calling..
This game is full of examples of this.
Perhaps he is hurt because of all the arse kickings he has taken as a result of crappy OLine play
It’s a definite possibility

Mixon looks great running behind the OL. Stroud is holding on to the ball too much and missing reads.
A couple of things:

First, it is possible to be competent at one thing and awful at another.

Second, other than maybe Arian Foster at his peak, Mixon is the best RB this team has ever had. I am going to assume that he is making them look better than they are. Very good players have that effect.

Well, next up is another loss to Detroit. After that maybe they'll get their **** together for the Dallas game.

We have a defense that can help us win games. We just don't have the oline to make the offense work the way it should. This horrible oline isn't going anywhere, it's parked and we're stuck for this year. We can still make the playoffs, and probably will, but we're not lasting past the wild card weekend.

You probably aren't going to win a game with your 2 top WR's not playing and your best pass rusher missing the 2nd half. Not to mention having Kenyon continue his weekly suckathon.

They left 16-20 points on the field. We should’ve won this game with ease.
If Diggs and Nico had been able to play, they probably would've gotten those points. I hope Stroud spends the next 10 days getting his body and mind right. He's not playing well at the moment because his body has been beaten up and that's messed with his mind.

I posted about this last week and I've been pretty consistent of this. Yes missing Nico and Diggs are a problem, but that pocket has been extremely dirty all season starting with game 1 vs Colts. CJ like most qbs can deal with outside pressure, but the quick inside pressure he's getting is a huge problem. They also lack explosive players especially with Nico being out. It's the main reason I wanted Brian Thomas Jr at 23 vs trading out that spot.
Slowik isn't helping either. You can see tonight they had no sense of urgency on offense. They thought they were going score 14 pts and win the game. In the 3rd qt, the Jets knew Houston couldn't score on them and they just started going for 4th downs. I mean we can't run any middle screens? Can't roll the pocket? Just continue to drop back and get the qb hit was the solution

I foreseen us losing tonight based how we have looked the last three games. I also foresee our Texans having a similar finish to our season to the one the Jaguars had last season. Some serious changes in personnel, especially the offensive line need to be made. 8 sacks and constant pressure is more than almost any Qb can handle. That seriously must change or our team will end up with a losing record!

Nope, ain't gonna budge. This is a Superbowl contending team
Jets must win game. Texans now face Detroit before going on bye. 6-4. We’ll see if they figure out why they can’t score after half… Slowick playcalling just never clicked this season, his calls put players in play from behind mindset instead of going nuclear.

Mixon is already carrying team, thought they could rest Nico, 2-2, very much question that strategy? So both Mixon & Collins need to stay healthy and push ceilings, while Slowick & offensive line (Patterson coming back LG) so while not out of Super Bowl discussion, it’s a much longer shot than any of us expected.

It’s a similar team to the one the Bengals had when they made the Super Bowl. Although Mixon is running better on this team and I think a fully healthy Texans defense is better than that Bengals unit.

But the OL play is the achilles heel of this team. Burrow navigated them to a Super Bowl despite being under constant duress. This Texans OL is even worse and the WRs aren’t healthy like those Bengals WRs were… Maybe we’ll get lucky and CJ can do the same behind a poor OL if Nico can get healthy and Tank continues improving. But winning it all? Tall order with this OL.

Only thing is, if they hadn't rested Nico would he have A) gotten injured for an even longer period of time including playoffs, or B) been much less effective than normal and not helped as much

I doubt this, they've still got three games with the Titans and Jags. However they need to get healthy and Caserio needs to make a move or two.

Well, are you guys finally gonna admit we’re not as good as the record says we are? Or do you need anymore evidence?
Yea I think we are probably done with all of the "deep into the P/Os" & SB talk for awhile.
Just need to get realistic here because we did have a real crappy game last night however
we still have the inside track on the AFC division title which is our ticket to the P/Os.
So I dunno what's the latest update on Will Jr ? That's what I'm thinkin about right now.
