Who do you think will win (Honest)

Well, we all know what happened last year with Stroud and the jets. Bro got his head f'ed up. Stroud revenge game?? Texans have a 51.1% chance to make something happen. Key things we need to know. 1. Diggs will obv not be playing. Is Caserio going to bring someone in or are we going to rely on Tank? We also got hutch, John, and Woods and still waiting on Nico still. 2. What's are move at Left Guard because Kenyon Green is straight ASS. Is Jarret gonna be healthy or is It going to be another Stroud beatdown? I shouldn't put all the blame on Green, the ENTIRE O-line needs to step up and get there head out they ass. 3. Is Christian Harris coming back, need him back asap. 4. Will our secondary be able to lock Wilson and Adams? A lot of things to think about coming into this week. We have a 2 game lead in the South so I'm not really worried. But how are we feeling??

I know defense travels! Even with all the injuries on that side of the ball Demeco has built an impressive group. My hope is the jets will struggle even with all their weapons because Rodgers will be under duress all game. I hate the short week in terms of getting guys back healthy but they are in the same boat! Offensively as much as CJ wants to be the guy I think we just have to ride with Mixon until we get the pass blocking situation solved. Maybe they will make a move for a guard before the deadline? Plus looks like we just lost another receiver. I'm really hoping this will be Nico's last game out. He puts so much pressure on the top of a defense and opens ups so much of the crossing game for others. Texans by 7 on the road in a dog fight.

I’m not happy about it, I can tell you that. I think Green, as horribly as he’s playing, is being scapegoated. The entire line is playing bad. If we make the playoffs, the defense will have to be shut down, lights out. Baltimore, Detroit, and KC are going to expose us, badly. And I understand that Demeco has to protect his players, and I applaud him for that. But that being said….

Demeco is a class act but you are right the oline has to be addressed if we want to take that next step. I'm optimistic it can happen this year. I think right now we are looking at a division championship, 10-11 wins. The schedule just ramps up drastically from this point forward so the issues they've had with pass blocking are going to be exacerbated. To end on a positive note, the drive we replaced green we moved the ball well until the injury. So once he's off concussion protocol, maybe we have found a solution.

Texans travel and the Jets are also playing on a short week after a disappointing loss. It could be tougher for the Jets to turn it around. I actually like the short week in this case.

In this game, Ryans and Slowick need to be all up in the OL’s arses, telling them they should be mentally and physically prepared to impose their will on the Jets defense in the run game since they’re giving up 125 yards a game. Jets will know this as well. Slowick, run a 2 TE set….play-action to Mixon and find Schultz or Stover. Loosen that defense up a bit before turning Mixon loose.

I’d like to see Stover get a lot more time on the field and more targets in this game. 2 TE sets could be a key to this game….especially on a short week.

Until the oline is somehow miraculously fixed, expect the Texans to struggle no matter who they are playing.

And because of that, I have no idea of what to expect from the Texans in any game until then. They should beat the Jets, but that doesn't mean anything really.

Because of our crappy, horrible totally junior high school level oline I worry about CJ's health as much as I do them winning.

The league is full of guys who played like crap in one place and looked competent in another. I am starting to get that old "How come we don't ever seem to develop anybody?" feeling when it comes to the OL. If they want to change the story on the OL then go get a known-good OL coach and see if these guys can come together and turn it around but that same kind of OL coach will probably be able to work out the problem in short order regardless.

You don't fool me. This is a troll account from a jets fan... & in that case..this is what awaits your qb.

The shrewdest move Demeco could make in this situation would be to sit CJ and
start Mills for the Jets game.

I wouldn’t be opposed to that.

That’s why I wanted to start Mills against the Ravens in Strouds rookie year.

Thats why I wanted to start (what’s his name? I forgot it) over Watson against the Jags.

Keep your Ferrari safe for the parade and drive your Pinto through the bumper car attraction.

If it were the Giants instead of the Jets I'd almost tongue-in-cheek agree.
Unfortunately it's an AFC game that might affect tie-breakers down the road.

Then again, if 7 gets his brain scrambled on the MetLife floor tie-breakers probably won't matter.

While I 100% get the reason behind this...I think it sends a bad signal to the team. We aren't the French throwing up white flags in the war. You'd basically be giving up the game to save one person on a 53 man roster. That's bad mojo!

That said...I hope the Texas score 35 points on 5 straight TD's and Stroud exits at half time. Ok...that's also not realistic but a man can wish!

If Kenyon Green is starting, I'm inclined to say we lose. Williams will manhandle him. Or Reddick or McDonald will blow by him on a stunt. Which means Tank, Hutch, and Woods will need to get open quickly against the Jets secondary.

I was surprised they kept seven WRs and still cut Noah Brown. Based on his performance last year, I thought Brown brought more to the offense than Metchie or even Hutchinson.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but with Nico's injury history and Tank coming off an injury, I would have still kept Brown on the roster.
I agree, but Hutchinson and Metchie both have upside being young guys. Noah was a much better backup X receiver, though, and we are missing that right now even before Diggs’ injury.

They need to get better with that RB rotation & getting production out of the other guys. Mixon should get the Lions share... I don't mind running him into the ground, but it's a long season & I want to make sure he's good to go in February.

Demeco said they are going with the receivers they have, and since they all know the system, it’s the right move. And Nico will be back the game after Thursday.

But, it won’t matter if CJ doesn’t have the time.

Exactly.

exactement in french and exactamente in spanish for those of you who can't read ******* english. :)

Cj needs to beat the rush. That's the only way it's going to stop. Defenses will continue to rush with abandon until they realize it's not a good idea.

RB & TE screens is normally the way you slow down a pass rush... we don't run RB & TE screens. Mixon & Ogunbowale are excellent receivers out of the backfield. We should be running screens all day giving DEs something else to think about.

I know the majority of the time, there is a talent drop-off from RB1 to RB2. Still, I'll never understand why coaches struggle to keep their RB1 fresh by giving 5 to 7 carries per game to the backup RBs.

To get to the AFCCG, we will need a fresh and healthy Joe Mixon. Everyone knows this and his running style will lead to nagging injuries. However, he's played in 5 games and has 25 carries or more in 3 of the 5 games.

Look this is what we’re going do

Cj’s coming to your house, I want you to know this Jets, we’re coming to your house, You know what, we’re not even knocking. We’re opening your door, Cjs not taking off his shoes either and I hope they’re muddy. Our qb going sit on your couch and kick his feet up on your coffee table, now what?

Side note: Jets gave a concussion last game to the opposing team qb in Drake Maye. If that’s not a wake up call to bench green this game, idk what to say..

That’s an unsustainable workload for sure. I think they want to bring his touches down… but every game except the Pats has come down to the wire and they needed every Joe Mixon touch they could get. Well… maybe they coud’ve given those timeout milking touches last two games to Pierce or Dare.

They need to get a comfortable lead so they can breathe a bit and allow Mixon to watch his backups play in garbage time.

Like the Pats game!

Rodgers said he is drinking cayenne pepper and water, suggested to him by teammate Thomas Morstead. Rodgers, dealing with hamstring, knee and ankle injuries throughout the season, said he started drinking it before the Jets' Week 8 game and has continued this week in preparation for Thursday night against the Houston Texans at MetLife Stadium.

It's a short week, which means most players are battling aching bodies, but Rodgers, 40, said his feels great.

Capsaicin (the active ingredient in cayenne pepper) depletes substance P, a natural chemical in the body that helps transmits pain signals. Its other main effect is that it is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, The potential downside is that it has a blood-thinning effect...............probably not the best thing for football player.

Geez this guy needs to go away

It would be a PR nightmare if CJ were not played this game..............it's not going to happen unless the game is already "put away."

Interesting. Just watched the highlights. I’m slightly worried. Jets gave up multiple first down scrambles to New England qbs. Cj isn’t that type of player. Game plan will obviously be to use Mixon in the running game.

Jets have the 13th rushing defense at home. Houston has the 6th rushing defense on the road.

Jets are the #1 passing defense at home allowing 110 passing yards. Houston has the 6th passing defense on the road allowing 189 yards.

Houston is 4th on the road in take aways averaging 2. Stats says Houston is a better take away team in road games where we only average 1 at home.
Jets are 24th in take aways in home games.

Jets are 10th in first downs at home averaging 21 while Houston is 14th on the road.

Lastly, in scoring offense, jets are bottom 5 ranked (28th) in home games. Houston is 11th on the road.

I expect our defense to pressure Rodgers. Get a few turnovers. Jets are the 22nd rushing offense at home. Mentioned earlier, Houston has the 6th rushing defense on the road. Another surprising stat, Houston is a better rushing team on the road, ranked 10th. The goal should be picking up 3-4 yards every play. Quick passes and runs. We probably won’t score a lot but allow Ka’imi to put up 9-12 points and a touch down or 2 will probably win this game. This defense can hold their own.

Going 23-17 Texans win

This week, Slowik really needs to prove his worth. With the injuries at WR and our porous OL, our offense could be in for a tough time. His play-calling will have to scheme receivers open while hoping the OL can hold their blocks, even for quick plays. Heck, I’d even consider using an eligible tackle on every play, so if the Jets start to overwhelm our OL, CJ can quickly throw to the back of that tackle instead of taking a hit...the Jets defense is still pretty good regardless of their record.

Sounds great, but u can throw all the stats and rankings out the window when it’s a game on a short week b/c we haven’t had 1 of those yet.

On the flip side, the NFL schedule makers did the jets absolutely no favors. 1st Pats game was a Thursday night short week game, then after a regular 1 pm game against the Broncos the following week, they got shipped off to London to play the Vikes for a 9am game. then they come back to the states and get the Bills and Steelers back to back on Monday and Sunday night prime time games at 8:15 pm. Then the 2nd pats game at regular time before getting us on another short week this Thursday. Their internal clocks have to be all jacked up……

Sheesh, Jets are in trouble man. Kind of silly theyre the team with the most prime time games this season. Whether it’s a short week or not. I believe Texans defense is forreal. They made young Richardson tap out on a crucial 3rd down. Never saw that before. Imagine how a banged up Rodgers will feel. Jets are just a bad team. It’s going to feel good dominating Rodgers after what he’s done to our team in the past.

I'm worried about this one. Quinnen Williams is going to have a field day even more than he did last year. They also have Kinlaw on the inside this year and Reddick will be trying to make a statement and Howard will need tons of help to slow him down

Yep I honestly don’t see how we’re gonna move the ball in the air.

Almost the exact same situation we were in last year coming into this game. A lot to lose, very little to gain.
