I don’t get the stroud blame. Yeah he deserves some but the qb out of everyone should have leeway of making mistakes. Look at Goff, he threw 5 picks. I doubt the Lion fans are angry at him. He has a good Oc and continued to fight.

I really hate that it comes down to "as long as the other teams in the division suck then the Texans will make the playoffs". That's just a sad fact. I look forward to the AFC South being strong someday.

I honestly believe the Texans, ALL the players came into this season complacent. They're lazy and soft on offense.
 
I have been very patient with Slowik….but enough is enough. Zero points AGAIN. Obviously yes the players play a big role in that as well. They don’t get off completely either BUT Slow called a terrible half of ball, and DeMeco appears to be incapable of being the leader of the TEAM he needs to be instead of a DC.

DeMeco needs to fire Bobby tomorrow. We’ve got Lazer or theQB coach Johnson.
 
That was the best team in the NFC & our crappy team stood toe to toe with them. The refs missed that PI on Hutch. That would have sealed the game. The offense crapped the bed in the 2nd half, that's true. HC wise I don't think Demeco could have called a better game & in that moment Slowick called the perfect play. PI should have been called.

DeMeco needs to figure out what's going on with his offense & get it fixed.

That’s the problem. Goff actually battled. CJ didn’t in the second half.

Exactly this. We need to know if our QB is great, or just okay. We will see.
 
Why do some of you expect Cj to get better with a bottom 3 play caller? Brady, Mahomes and many of the great QBs wouldn’t be where there at if they didn’t have help from there play caller. What Cj has done has been special. He can’t be Superman every game to a bottom 3 play caller. It’s starting to catch up with him.
 
Stroud for sure deserved some blame, if he hits Dell wide open in the endzone that game may have been out of reach.

He isn’t the main problem though. Mixon ran 25 times, with 1.8 YPC. How do we keep going back to that? He caught the ball twice, and got 44 yards. How do we not go back to that more often?

It is tough sledding out there when your top two WRs are out and the line is struggling, but you don’t need to be an offensive genius to see what was working vs what wasn’t.

We had a 16 point lead to start the 2nd half and Stroud immediately comes out and throws an interception. He had a wide open Tank Dell for an easy TD that would have sealed the game. Instead he threw a lame interception pass that helped get Detroit back in this game. This team wins without Stroud missing those two plays. How on earth does he not deserve some of the blame for this loss?

They'll look like the right plays when they get those blocks & Spring Mixon, or catch that ball & convert or score a TD.

Metchie looked good again today. Hopefully Nico plays next week & the Texans can run the table.

Stroud looked so good in the first half but it seems he gets out of his game in the second half and you have to think it is because he rarely finds open receivers at that time. It seems Slowik gets outcoached and most of CJ's problem is from that.
 
No, this isn't on CJ.
He was given run, run, pass as how Slowik called this game.Most of this game CJ had to hit a 7-10 yard completion on every 3rd down. And he had a bunch of dropped passes. On our 2 or 3 yd line he was trying to get us outta the hole, #2 or #3 kept dropping the passes. He probably had 5 or 6 dropped passes, and that was playing in Slowik's Run, Run, Pass game plan.
I put this loss on Slowik.

Mixon is not an outside the tackles runner. He is a run it up the gut runner.
Why slowick hasn’t figured that out yet is beyond me
 
Also, Fairbairn is getting a pass for his second game with crucial missed FG’s. He hits the 2 he missed and the Texans are taking him the win…..even with the crap out 2nd half offensively.
