The offense is out of sync, playing just well enough in spurts to keep everyone interested. The defense is opportunistic, but I’m not sure they can come up with a critical stop against a top-tier team. It’s also hard to rely on your kicker to consistently hit 50+yd field goals—those are starting to feel like the new 40-yarders. Our core players are young, so hopefully they’ll learn from these experiences. Slowik needs to find more consistency with play calls. About 4 or 5 times a game, we see some beautiful route combinations, but the rest of the time, it’s a predictable mess. The depth on the routes is largely the same, and even the running game, when successful, is more about effort than design. It’s disappointing, but we’re still 6-4 with 7 games left. The ship hasn’t sunk...and the Cowturds are on deck.

My fear is that our season is going much like the Jags season last year. Will we have a major slump and one of our divisions teams gets hot and wins our division. We were bailed out by some late game heroics from CJ and our offense last season. That can't be something we can hang our hat on consistently. We need to outright take over more games. The Chiefs this season seem to be the exception to the rule! I think even their luck will run out be it during the regular season or the playoffs. I don't think they can ride that wave against the better teams in the playoffs.

Nico getting back along with WA/Harris/Ward/Okudah will help a lot. They beat the Cowboys sweep the division and win an extra unexpected game. 11 wins

It's possible but I seriously doubt we lose the AFC South. I also think we are still a couple of pieces from being a top-tier team. For now, we just have to take the wins as we get them.

I mean just on regular football, if you consistently trot out 2 tes, they're gonna have 3 lbs on the field. Not to mention neither of your tes are y flex or great blockers. Ok, you're trying to run the ball, but all your runs are inside. I mean at no point can the offense pick up the pace? How about no huddle, over the ball no subs and let's go? I mean, this is slowick 2nd yr calling plays, but this doesn't look like he can make adjustments

Doesn't it feel great to get bent over and embarrassed in such excruciating fashion over and over again??? God, I love being a Texans fan. The worst thing that can happen to this team is getting into the playoffs because of their **** division and getting annihilated by KC or BAL again. I honestly doubt they'd even make it past the wild card round. Teams like the Broncos and Steelers would beat them. I hope they lose every single game remaining like the chumps they are. This team needs a major overhaul in the coaching staff and the oline. They need a major attitude adjustment. It's utterly pathetic. Just a **** organization from top to bottom. Always have been and always will be no matter who is in the building. Sloppy and undisciplined as hell. It's disgusting football to watch. No wonder so many Texans fans sold their tickets to Lions fans.

Stroud is overrated as hell and a pouty little ***** by the way. His little podcast tour and getting blown by the media has the guy sniffing his own farts. Guy won't sniff a super bowl in his career. Maybe he can turn it around if he finds his way to another team eventually.

  • Goff’s five picks were the most by an NFL player since Jameis Winston threw five on Oct. 13, 2019, for Tampa Bay against Carolina.
  • After trailing by 16 points at halftime, Detroit’s victory marked the largest halftime deficit overcome by a team to throw 5-plus interceptions in NFL history
  • Before Sunday’s loss, teams who recorded five interceptions in a single game were 373-1-1 all-time.

He definitely did not do enough.. 2 interceptions and 0 points in the 2nd half proves that..
You do know that's not the way he drew it up?

Despite all that there was a 3rd & 6, or 3rd & 4 i can't remember, Stroud made a good throw to Hutch past the sticks & we were robbed by a blatant no call.

Had Kai'imi made that field goal the Lions have to drive the length of the field & we probably win.

If our defense gets that stop on 3rd & 6 we go to overtime.

Again it wasn't pretty but Slowick did enough.

Could have been better. Should have blown out the best team in the NFC, a bona-fide Super Bowl contender. But they didn't. I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water. We're too close to start all over again.

K'ami has to be the leading scorer in fantasy football.. he's been a legend so far in my sister's league... He's outscoring her QB and she's in first place.. things that shouldn't take place if we had a adequate OC..

It's frustrating but who didn't expect a loss here? The Texans are out of sync big time and the Lions are a hell of a team. The offense in particular just can't seem to get it together and I know there are numerous injuries but all this so-called depth we were told about in the preseason and early on was a myth. Beyond Mixon they have nobody in particular. Beyond Nico they have nobody in particular. Diggs yes but that was a question mark from day one because of his age and temperament. When that trade was made people were going nuts over it but still talking about how it was a good deal because the Texans could get out of it easily enough if they had to. When trades are described like that you expect it could go either way and so I'm disappointed that after all the hype there's nobody worth a squat behind Nico and Diggs. Tank Dell alone is not enough. He's far from being anything special when he's alone. Purely a complimentary WR who shines when someone else has the defenses attention.

The line is a problem all its own. They looked better last night but it shouldn't take 10 games to figure out who your best combo of linemen are. This team, front office/coaches on down failed to put it together and it shows. Stroud I'd chalk up to a sophomore slump with a healthy dose of sniffing his own farts thrown in. He'll come back down to earth and pull it together eventually if the Texans will get serious about putting together some real depth and talent beyond a star or two here and there and hoping for the best. If they don't then it's going to be an ugly few years.

No. This team, particularly this offense hasn't come close to being right this year on the offensive side. It is close but it's not too close to course correct and an offense that too often stops scoring at the half and settles for field goals all the time has a problem that can often be traced to the OC. Every coach and every player on that side should be under the microscope to try and figure out what isn't working and why.

I understand coaches & players don't like to be asked those questions but I hope the media drills them hard. I'd like to know that they are asking themselves those questions because we're not seeing it on the field.

Al-Shaair didn't miss a beat. Came back right where he left off.

He had the throw short to Dell, but if the play had continued based on what he saw…Dell makes the adjustment and scores the TD. What CJ didn’t see, was the DB coming from out of nowhere at full speed and arriving on the scene at the same time as the ball. CJ was flushed to the right and got the pass off….for me, he should’ve put some mustard on that pass instead of lofting it up like Dell had everyone beat. This play doesn’t suddenly make CJ a horrible QB….just another lesson in his growth.
I give you an A for effort but you're wasting your time. You can check any game day thread, and he barely posts or have anything to post when they win. Stroud had a bad 2nd half. It's not a coincidence that he showed up in the 2nd half to stir the pot and troll.

Stop it with the “blatant non call”. The refs missed a helmet to helmet on Goff too. The refs didn’t blow that lead and that excuse is weak and unacceptable.

Finally something i can agree with you about. Complaining about one potential missed call is such a losers mentality. And it works both ways as you pointed out. How about kicking some ass in the second half, making a missed call a moot point. People focus on the external stuff way too much. They aren’t scoring zero points in the second half because of blown calls.

Exactly this. Also, when it comes down to the last 3 minutes of the game etc, you really don’t want to rely on a penalty to get a first down. All they had to do was focus on getting the first and they could have iced the game. That alarmed me because there were multiple opportunities to go get points.

During the game, one of the Talking Heads said that the Lions were shutting down the outside run.

Who was the NFL offensive Rookie of the Year in 2023? In the race for 2023 NFL Player of the year? Who was setting all sorts of records this season until Collins went out? I cannot remember that guy's name.

You think the primary goal of that play was to get a flag?

I don't care. The regression is here and it ain't pretty. This org and some of these players have done him no favors either.

You make rash statements out of emotions and I get that but given facts..

You don't care...

Your last sentence is on target but makes me question your proclamations.

I've reached the conclusion that this org will never get to a Super Bowl in my lifetime and everything i say is based off of that. I don't hate Stroud and I think he's very talented. I DO think the offseason hype got to his head just as it did to others on this team. Just greatly bothers me to see this franchise start to ruin him before our very eyes.

The facts do not support what you claim. First 6 games of 2024 after "off season hype got to his head", Stroud performed very well. He had bad game losing by 2 to Packers game 7. Game 8, CJ returned with a very good game. 9 and 10 not sharp at all. We can debate the reason for those three games but hype from the offseason does not appear to be an issue.

He’s snake bitten bad right now. Dude has taken a D. Carr’s type of beating. The young man might be running for his life even in his sleep.
Not so fun fact prior to this last game, Stroud was the second most sacked quarterback in the NFL this season. Quarterback with the most
Sacks? Deshaun Watson.

No.

I listed three things that could have changed that game. It's not about the non call. My point is as bad as it was Slowick & DeMeco had them in a position to win inside of 2 minutes. They just didn't close the deal.

Agree to disagree. This team hasn't looked even close to dominant all year. Stroud included. The SNF Bears game was an embarrassment even though they won. I'll grant that there are multiple factors at play for why they've been so mediocre.

Watching the Texans is, at times, like watching a Horror flick. They managed to knock the killer to the ground with 15 or 16 stabs….they stand back looking at what they’ve accomplished and turn their back to walk away versus bending down and grabbing the shotgun by their foot and blowing his head off for good measure, but nooooo….the Texans always prefer playing the next victim who only pissed off the killer and gets taken out in the most gruesome of ways….the end.

Then you watch Ravens play and somehow LJ can fix dinner in the pocket and still have wrs running butt naked. He has 24 passing tds already. Let that sink in
That’s because he’s a big time threat with his feet. He’s been in that particular system for quite some time now. He has a freaking monster at RB. And finally he has some receivers who can get open as well as stretch the field.
