I might be in the minority, but I like him as a prospect.

He had a bad game against Texas but I like him. I've got him at the top of the 4th. However I think he goes in the 3rd.

Yeah I think he might go day 2 as well. He’s played both sides and I think he’ll be a starter in the league for several years. He had a bad game against Texas but I like him. I've got him at the top of the 4th. However I think he goes in the 3rd.
Texans are doing their due diligence still.

That's what I'm thinking. They've had a lot of top 30 visits with Tackles.I’m thinking the team will add an OT before day 2 ends.
If they have doubts about Howard they should.I’m thinking the team will add an OT before day 2 ends.
It's why I always hated the notion that "Stroud told them to draft Tank so they did"Last year’s prospect visit list. I bolded the players drafted by the Texans. I may have missed some zoom meeting visits, but I just pulled the last comprehensive list from the very helpful @TexansFan15
Some notes: They sure did a lot of work on Tank!
The premium picks (Stroud/Anderson) got top 30 visits.

So far this season (as of last evening) 20.
Had my eye on Bullard for some time now.Interesting the player comped to Jalen Pitre is getting a top 30 visit. I like Bullard, but I also liked Pitre coming out. Would he be a replacement for the player who had a sophomore slump? Or could they get them both on the field playing productively?
PS: Of course he was a team captain for the Georgia Bulldogs. Cap likes captains!

Texans host former Georgia DB Javon Bullard for top-30 visit
The Houston Texans are looking for safety prospects entering the 2024 NFL Draft, and could find a steal in Georgia's Javon Bullard.sports.yahoo.com
What type of Safety are you looking for? A box Safety? Deep Safety? A Hybrid that can play slot?Safeties I want drafted.
Bishop 3rd
Mustafa- 4th
Perry- early 5th
Also I would be very happy if Nubin fell to 2-59.
Who would you pick from the FA pool? What type of Safety are you looking for? A box Safety? Deep Safety? A Hybrid that can play slot?
A guy like Simmons that mostly plays deep, but can drop down on occasion. I'm not looking for a S that can play nickle. Although I think Petrie's best position is nickle. I'm hoping Petrie just had a bad sophomore yr and has learned Ryans system well enough to play at the level he did under Lovie. If not then S should take on a very high priority IMHO. Bishop is the type of S I'm looking for, but unfortunately most young S struggle their rookie yrs. Not everybody can be like Hamilton. What type of Safety are you looking for? A box Safety? I haven't looked at the FA pool, myself. Don't know if the Texans are looking for a vet starter or rookie backup.Who would you pick from the FA pool?
Nubin or Kinchens would best fit that description from a draft perspective.A guy like Simmons that mostly plays deep, but can drop down on occasion.

Bishop is more of a box safety. Which is fine, if that is what the Texans want. Bullock (see above) is a deep safety with some coverage ability. Not a big hitter, though.Bishop is my guy.
Not from what I saw looking at his highlights and at the Sr. Bowl. Looks like he can do both to me and he tested well at the combine. Maybe your seeing something I'm not seeing?Bishop is more of a box safety. Which is fine, if that is what the Texans want. Bullock (see above) is a deep safety with some coverage ability. I'm just going off how Bishop was used at Utah He had 21 TFL and 7.5 sacks over his career, vs 14 PD and 3 INTs. He plays close to the LOS. Bishop will likely play deeper in the NFL. But didn't you say recently that Safeties don't contribute early in their pro career? Bishop will have some transitioning to do if asked to move to deep safety. Not from what I saw looking at his highlights and at the Sr. Bowl. Yes I did, but that goes for all safeties. Nubin is the only S I like better. I do like Bullard a lot though too. Although he has avg speed he's really good at diagnosing. Really smart player and seems like a Ryans kinda a guy. Too bad about the DWI and I hope he isn't held to the same standards that Sweat is being held too.I'm just going off how Bishop was used at Utah He had 21 TFL and 7.5 sacks over his career, vs 14 PD and 3 INTs. It's about timing. Javon has had a couple of years to atone and attest to his mistake. He's had a chance to explain himself to every interested team. They aren't running a tight ship down in Athens.Yes I did, but that goes for all safeties. Nubin is the only S I like better. I do like Bullard a lot though too. Sweat's transgression just happened. After telling teams his partying days were over. A big mistake that Sweat is likely to regret on draft weekend.
DWI is DWI
And living in Austin is probably just as conducive for this kind of lifestyle if not more so than living in Athens.
I like Phillips a lot.
I like him too. He was sticky in coverage based on some of the analysts reports.I like Phillips a lot.
I could see trading up into the 5th for Jerrell and drafting Robinson in the 6th. My guy is Glover in the late 4th/early 5th though.CB Tulane

“#3 - Lance Robinson
Robinson timed as fast as 4.43 seconds in the 40 and posted a three-cone time of 6.94 seconds. He’s been a good cornerback at Tulane the past two seasons and has his moments on film. As a senior last season, Robinson intercepted four passes and broke up 11. Graded as a PFA in the Sportskeeda mock draft simulator, the New York Jets have shown a ton of interest in Robinson and could sign him after the draft. The Houston Texansare another franchise that likes Robinson, as they believe he is a perfect fit for their defense.”
#1- Mike Jerrell OL
Super-senior Mike Jerrell from Division II Findlay College in Ohio was graded as a potential late-rounder by scouts entering the past two seasons and is now receiving sixth-round grades heading towards the draft. A terrific small-school lineman, Jerrell lit up Ohio State pro day and looked better than Buckeyes top offensive line prospect Matt Jones during position drills. He also tested better than Jones, who worked out at the combine.
Measuring 6-foot-4.5 and 309 pounds, Jerrell timed as fast as 4.94 seconds in the 40 with a super quick 10-yard split of 1.69 seconds. His vertical jump was 32.5 inches, and Jerrell completed 26 reps on the bench. Teams are looking at Jerrell as a tackle for the next level, which is the same position he played in college. The talented blocker has already made official-30 visits to see the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts and has the Seattle Seahawks on the schedule for next week.”

Not a big fan of this guy.

I like both Bishop and Bullard. I like 6 or 7 Safeties from the 2nd to 4th round. Just saying they are aren't the same players doing the same things.I think Bishop can do both.
Utah had 2 really good safeties last yr.
I like Bullard a lot.
Smart, covers the backend in single high well. Great instincts and a fairly sure tackler. Definitely an upgrade and he's one of the few S prospects that can come in and start right away.
I didn't mean to imply that they were. Give me Bishop over Bullard and I like Bullard.I like both Bishop and Bullard. I like 6 or 7 Safeties from the 2nd to 4th round. Just saying they are aren't the same players doing the same things.
Why? He’s not as fast as some guys but he is sticky in coverage. Not a big fan of this guy.
I like Rakestraw in a slot CB role. I think he's too small (weight/strength) to play on the outside. Rakestraw also doesn't have the recovery burst. But he's a good player that will play early. Why? He’s not as fast as some guys but he is sticky in coverage.
