The Rise of Hannah

I draw the line when people destroy certain player’s character and doesn’t know them personally. Like I said they do it to a certain people. I give two bleeps if a joker agrees with me or not.
See the disagreement with Slowik before the draft as another sign of Stroud being dumb. I don't get how you would think this is destroying Stroud's character. Dumb is dumb nothing more or less.

To be clear, at this point in time Stroud is doing what he's supposed to be doing. I haven't seen any repolkrts to the contrary.

CnnD was referring to "getting into it" with Slowick during the pre-draft interview & we don't have any info of what that was about, or the severity, or anything to base any opinion on. Just more questions.
Slowik is making the best of a bad situation. What I wonder if had Slowik known then what he knows now, would he have accepted the OC position. Hannah's messing with his career all for marketing purposes.

Lol, He can know more, doesn’t mean he knows how to impart his knowledge. HE doesn’t have this great track record to be trusted as far as development of wbs like an Andy Reid. Like i said, the coach or authority figure isn’t infallible & there’s no more of a good example of that than the last guy that was here longer than 1 year. Slowik hasn’t proven anymore than Stroud at this point in his career & Just b/c he’s older and in a position of authority doesn’t change that whether u like it or not. Respect is earned not given.

Furthermore i have kids Stroud’s age and believe me, I ain’t enabling anything.
If what you're saying is true, the Texans intentionally drafted a player who obviously doesn't respect his OC. This will never work out. Slowik made a terrible career choice.

Of course you are

You got what you wanted with the Stroud pick.
Yep, like marginal 1st rd pick and all black coaching staff along with making cal sell the team. So yeah, I have doubts and it has nothing to do with the pick or who I wanted. If you go look at some of my older post, I wasn't a fan of Stroud. When I had a chance to really watch him operate this past season, I started to like his skill set. So this premise of I've always like Stroud as a qb isn't correct. Unlike you, I don't believe you have to be a generational talent to win a sb in the modern era. Also, superbowls alone doesn't determine a qb's worth alone. Nobody will take Eli's career over his brothers career. A franchise worthy qb needs to consistently be able to help his team get in the playoffs and not be the reason they don't go, imo.

I don't believe it, I don't not believe it.

I believe CloakNNNdagger was told this by two sources & someone else here was told the same information.

Why CJStroud is a Texans doesn't really matter much to me. Can he be a franchise QB? That's all I care about.

Will Caserio get credit if Stroud becomes a HOF QB? I'd give him credit.

Will Caserio get blamed if he's a bust? I'll blame him.
Why would you blame Caserio? He didn't want to pick Stroud.

You expect kids these days to be yes sir/no sir? Or not to have an inflated opinion/sense of entitlement of themselves?

Let me introduce you to millennials, or gen y, or gen z. Whatever they call themselves.
Then you don't draft them with high picks.

Or, Slowick is like O’Brien. Rubs people the wrong way. He’s most likely thankful for having such an understanding boss, slow to anger, rich in mercy.

If this is true then Ryans made a mistake hiring him. Which I don't believe for a minute since Ryans has seen and worked with Slowik closely for the last 5 years or so.

Good News! I used my trusty Steel Blue and Battle Red crystal ball to peer into this alleged argument. This is how it went down during the interview.

Slowick: You really bombed that S2 test didn't you?
Stroud: Man F that test. I am a football player not a test taker.
Mysterious source standing in the doorway: (scribbles on notepad) "Stroud and Slowick arguing. Must tell the others"

So as you can see....nothing to see here! Carry on.

I never said you always wanted Stroud, but by draft time you did.

Mahomes and Brady would disagree with the last part of your post.

Not when the Daughter in law tells you that you have to pick a certain guy.
If that were you, you would have walked. You’re a man of integrity. If Nick didn’t want to draft Stroud but did because the daughter-in-law told him, he’s not an upright man of integrity like yourself.

He’s a weak yes man only worried about those direct deposits. I’m blaming him for that.

For 36 mil you can call me weak or whatever you want to call me. So you follow your bosses instructions even if you disagree with them?

I give you credit for consistently cherry picking your comparisons.
Name the QB's that have won the most championships over the last decade. Most of them were top 5 QB the yrs that they won their championships.

Foles is the epitome of cherry picking.

& I will blame you for being weak & drafting a guy you didn’t want to.
I wouldn't really care what you thought of me.

You didn't answer the last part of my post. Have you ever gone along with your boss even though you told him you thought he was making a bad decision, so that you could keep your job? I know I have and that had nothing to do with character, it had to do with me providing for my family at that time.

The discussion of "behind the scene" stuff is interesting and most of us want to be "in the know".
I have no clue what was done or said and here is my focus:

Texans have 2 of 3 best players on most people's boards pre-draft. Certainly, many of those were just copying what another had alleged.

Stat and play wise both had very good college with high floor and higher ceilings.

My only concern with Anderson was if his 2022 was slowing his motor or protecting himself for NFL career. I think it was latter.

Stroud: agent was issue for me but team seems ok so I can grumble but in wait and see mode.
Ryans for now meets what I want in a HC.
Caserio still question mark but trending up.
Hannah appears to be leading the way with access to Janice and if results are good, I don't care if other teams do it or what happened historically.

Play ball!

I don't know how to get an overall rating for the QBs by year. Here are passer rating , QBR & Tds for the last 10 Sb winners including Wentz instead of Foles..

Passer Rating: 4 out of the last 10 have been top 5.
QBR: 6 out of the last 10 have been top 5.
Tds: 5 out of the last 10 have been top 5.

2013 - Seahawks - Russel Wilson 7th in Passer Rating & 9th in QBR 10th in TDs
2014 - Patriots - Tom Brady 5th in Passer Rating & 3rd in QBR 5th in TDs
2015 - Broncos - Peyton Manning 34th in Passer Rating & 30th in QBR 32nd in TDs
2016 - Patriots - Tom Brady 2nd in Passer Rating & 2nd in QBR 7th in TDs
2017 - Eagles - Carson Wentz 4th in Passer Rating & 1st in QBR 2nd in TDs *Showed Wentz since he started 13 games
2018 - Patriots - Tom Brady 12th in Passer Rating & 6th in QBR 10th in TDs
2019 - Chiefs - Patrick Mahomes 7th in Passer Rating & 2nd in QBR 8th in TDs
2020 - Buccaneers - Tom Brady 9th in Passer Rating & 9th in QBR 3rd in TDs
2021 - Rams - Matthew Stafford 6th in Passer Rating & 4th in QBR 2nd in TDs
2022 - Chiefs - Patrick Mahomes 2nd in Passer Rating & 1st in QBR 1st in TDs

You don't need to look at ratings.

Just look at the names of the QB's that won

Mahomes, Stafford Brady etc....

Funny that you threw Staffords name in there. He was 0-3 in the playoffs over 12 seasons before going to the Rams. That's a bust according to you. He did have that one year though.
Stafford shows how the organization has as much, maybe more, to do with a player as the player. You could put the best QB in the league on the most dysfunctional team & he’ll probably go 0-3 in the playoffs in 12 years.

If you put a JAG (David Carr) on a dysfunctional team, or a Manzell, or Ponder, or Paxton Lynch you’ve got a bad team going nowhere.

Most of us don’t want to hear it. But imo I would have liked to have seen Blake Bortles go to a decent team before getting Jacksonvilled.

context matters and without knowing it, noone can ascertain what actually went down. If Slowik was coming off like a Todd Haley, Bill Parcells or a BoB…does he deserve respect? those days are long gone in the NFL.

See the problem with your analysis is you & others have automatically taken Slowik’s side….as if he just can’t be out of line in this scenario. You’ve thrown out the possibility that this dude may have overstepped..especially when we KNOW for a FACT these coaches and scouts tend to do this type of stuff at this time of year trying to get a guy to react so as to move him up/down or eliminate him from their boards. This is an article from just this year on it. Could easily see Slowik asking the kid something about his dad that could come off inappropriate or offensive that could maybe piss him off.

Obviously the fault could’ve been on Stroud’s side as well, but nothing up to this point has led anyone to believe ANYTHING about the kid that has been asserted in this thread.

We've got a lot of "inside" info on Hannah and Janice McNair. But little on the Slowik/Stroud encounter. And nothing on this:

There was speculation about whom Caserio was referring to. Anthony Richardson went through a coaching change at Florida. And Will Levis began at Penn State, transferred to Kentucky where Liam Coen was the OC in 2021 and Rich Scangarello took over in 2022. Scangarello was QB coach for the Niners from 2017-2018, and also 2021. By 2021, Slowik had switched to offense and had the title of passing game specialist. So Slowik and Scangarello worked together in San Francisco.

Scangarello was fired as Kentucky's OC at the end of the 2022 regular season, due in part to the regression of the Kentucky offense and the QB, Will Levis. Scangarello had pumped Levis up to NFL people during the 2022 preseason. Scangarello compared Levis to Joe Burrow and Josh Allen and said he would be the 1st pick in the draft. But after his season with Scangarello, it was rumored that Levis was throwing his OC under the bus in combine interviews. Did Levis do the same thing to Scangarello in his interview with the Texans? How would Slowik react to Levis slamming a coaching buddy? Would Slowik have "gotten into it" with Levis? Don't know, we didn't get inside info on that.

He played with the Lions all of those years. 1sr yr he escapes Detroit he wins a championship with the Rams.

Don't you think Ryans would've known Slowik was like Haley after working closely with him the past 5 yrs?

I trust Ryans judgement when it comes to hiring Ryans. It certainly doesn't bode well for the future when a QB a coach doesn't want is forced on him. I think you would agree on this?

Why would Ryans take this job when he had other options? Why would he come back to an organization that’s ran dysfunctionally from top to bottom? I’m pretty darn certain he asked about how this organization was going to be ran after going through the toxic turmoil in the past 5 years. No freaking way he’s taking this job if it’s still functioning like a skit show.

Or… to one degree or another all the franchises he’s been a part of are run pretty much the same way.

So ... you are saying I don't have a chance? signed J C Stroud

I agree, this should be expected. You, your sources, or anyone can tell me what happened. Few people can tell us why people do what they do. Hannah may have went to Janice, "who wanted a QB from the beginning" because of a "fan comittee"?

Sorry Doc, I'm going to need more information to substantiate that, also, if Janice wanted a QB from the get go, why does Cal promise the 1st pick?

I do not expect @CloakNNNdagger to answer these questions. I'm thrilled he shared info with me. I respect him enough not to ask him to prove anything to me.

I'm just saying, when you add more info you're adding more questions.
Perhaps the key to a better understanding is to remember the Texans submitted their pick for CJ within the first minute of being on the clock. Why? was Janet’s demand so strong that NC was scared to defy her beyond one minute? Seems odd. Perhaps the Texans knew that getting the Cards 3rd, though not cheap, would be cheaper if CJ was already off the board and they then went to work on the trade for Anderson. In that likelihood they manipulated the draft board to get the two players they wanted all along in the way they thought was the best way to achieve that goal. Edit. Also Slowick has been ecstatic about CJ in press reports. Why the enthusiasm? To kiss Janice’s ass?
