Bud is the guy who killed Luv Ya Blue.
Bud is the guy who hired his accountant as GM.
Bud is the guy who threatened to move to Jacksonville and got $60 million in renovations to the dome (courtesy of the tax payers).
If we're waxing nostalgic over Bud, let's tell the whole story.
Let's give Cal some time. Bud had a head start.
Giving O'Brien the GM powers after a 51-7 postseason meltdown won't soon be forgotten. Bud would have fired his ass before Bill even boarded the plane to Houston.
And I don't think anyone was waxing nostalgic over Bud. It was the Houston Oilers that mattered to us. Bud would have been dead by now (obviously), and Amy seems like a much better owner than her dad. I can't say the same about Cal compared to his dad at this point in time.
At least Bud manned up and admitted his mistake in hindsight. He knew that he'd been played by Lanier and Uncle Drayton. He said he should have let the Astros leave first. That was his biggest regret.
