Texans random thought of the day

The answer is still no, that is not why Saleh was fired. None of the stuff you're pulling out of your arse is happening. And let's leave it at that.
Don't be so cranky and grumpy, but instead work on a more cheerful approach in your communications.
We want to see more of the happy go lucky Lucky. Where's your sense of humor ?

We're human. You can only say it nicely so many times.

It was not moved to another thread that I can find so I'm assuming a moderator deleted it?

Not true, because if it was Hackett would be the new HC and instead Hackett got demoted. Downing is now calling plays.

Bunch of suppositions that don't make sense.

Saleh was fired because he wanted to fire Hackett... then the interim coach demotes Hackett...
Perhaps, but they make sense to some people. Why was Hackett demoted? Seems like he would have been fired with the head coach.

Why would Saleh be bent on firing him? Saleh brought him in, he should have been fine with demoting him, especially if that was all that was required to save his job.

You guys, all of you do a great job and I for one appreciate it.
Say BTW do you need any cash for operations ? What's that guys name down in FLA who runs
the website ? Hope he and his family are OK and got thru those storms in good shape ?
Have you heard from him ?

Seconded. They are very fine gents

Where did I say anything about Saleh wanting to fire him?

Rodgers wanted Saleh gone. The owner agreed. It is possible as some are saying that the owner wanted to fire Hackett also but Rodgers saved his job.

You will not find any legitimate independent physician that would ever condone a player with a condition with this set of acute findings to play in a football game. Just because Al-Shaair, Ryans and the Texans medical team got away with it this time doesn't make it a smart decision..............in fact, it was a very ill-advised move that could have had a very serious different outcome. Player safety in no way could have factored in the decision, while desperation trumped all.

OK guys it's time to buckle up because starting next week we are getting into the meat of
our schedule with a trip to GB followed shortly after that with games vs the Lions, the
Chiefs, the Cowboys.
We've played 6 games while only two of those teams being really good and one of those
teams beat the snot of out of us while we just squeaked by the other team, but now we are about to find out who the 2024 edition of the Houston Texans really are ?

Based on what we know *right now*. Things could change at any time due to injuries or whatever.

difficult Oct 20 Green Bay
moderate Oct 27 Colts
moderate to difficult Oct 31 (Monday night) Jets
VERY difficult Nov 10 (Sunday night) Lions
moderate to difficult Nov 18 (Monday night) Cowboys
moderate Nov 24 Titans
easy to moderate Dec 1 Jags
moderate Dec 15 Dolphins
VERY difficult Dec 21 (Saturday) Chiefs
forget it, we lose Dec 25 (Wednesday) Ravens * after four days rest *
easy to moderate Jan 5 Titans

And anything can change at anytime...

Except the Jags

I'm not worried. They will come together more and more as the season goes along. Hopefully they're playing their best ball at the end of the season and that they're healthy for the playoffs.

I’m concerned about our ineffective blitzing because the upcoming QB’s will hit the wide open receivers. We had too many wide open spaces unattended that will be a play ground for receivers. Safties will need to stay in the back field in coverage

Thorn, guess how many days rest the Ravens will have?

IMO the Detroit Lions are the best team in the NFC, but that may have changed last night
when their best defensive player, edge rusher Aida Hutchison, broke his leg which probably
sidelines him for the rest of the season.
If the Lions called our GM today about one of our edge rushers, WA & D. Hunter, will Nick talk ?
IMO Nick will talk to them about Hunter but Will Jr. is absolutly "Hands off".

OT Penei Sewell

CB Terrion Arnold

Edit: research revealed that Sewells option bonus of 25 million was fully guaranteed so that would void the deal for him. If the option bonus is guaranteed fully, the trading team eats that as they would the signing bonus proration.
I would seriously consider trading Hunter for Arnold and Detroit Lions round one.

What do those teams have next to the Texans on their schedules? Moderate, difficult, VERY difficult, forget it?

Just gotta take them one at a time. I didn't think we'd beat the Bills but we got that one. Of course I didn't think we'd get destroyed by the Vikings either. No telling what the injury report says down the road for these teams. Sucks that the Lions lost Hutch but I do feel better about CJ's life expectancy now.

Nobody is stopping the KC Swifties from 3-peating though, so I don't even know why we're even playing this season.

True, and you cant beat the Chiefs or God'ells rigged NFL.

This isn't really a blitzing defense. Demeco just seems to like to use it more against rookies.

As is Demeco normally likes to use stunts to generate pressure and drop guys into coverage.

That said Demeco has actually shown a canny ability for gameplanning that he hasn't always shown going back to his 49ers DC days. I think the Bills gameplan is going massively under the radar for how good and effective it was.

We're human. You can only say it nicely so many times.
It would be different if he actually knew and could prove it.

What we do know is Rodgers didn't play a part in Saleh's firing or Hackett would be the HC and instead Hackett got demoted. This is a fact. We also know Saleh wore a patch supporting Lebanon on his shirt on Sunday and was fired Monday. That's another fact.

Lets just deal in facts instead of saying things like that's not why Saleh was fired when he's got no clue as to why Saleh was fired.

There's an old saying when you hire a new employee, you dont worry about hiring them, you worry about the trouble you will have firing them. Fortunately for the Johnson's and the NYJ, Saleh handled his firing with class.
