You can only get comp picks for minority HCs and Primary Football Executives (GMs). They must not have been employed by the former organization in the same role AND they must have been employed for 2 full seasons with the former organization.

Like every season, gotta wait for the games to be played to find out if the schedule is truly tougher.

Texans beat winning teams (Steelers, Jags, Colts, Bengals, Bucs, Saints) and lost to losing teams (Panthers, Falcons, Jets). And beat losing teams (Cardinals, Titans) and lost to winning teams (Ravens).

Every team is going to have to face contenders, pretenders and everything in between. No idea who is who until we get to kickoff week to week. I’m sure teams thought much differently of the Eagles facing them beginning of season vs end of season this year.

Get Green and Patterson healthy, tell me Howard's healthy and I'm fine with the OL. Howard's health is a big question mark for me. If he's not healthy RT goes to the top of the draft list for me. Jordan Morgan and Patrick Paul would be guys I would be happy to see Caserio draft. If somehow they could add Morgan and trade back into the late 1st/early 2nd for a guy like Legette to stretch the defense this offense would look much better. Then add a vet RB in FA and Stroud would look awesome.

I'm spending big money on a difference maker like Chris Jones in FA and trying to also add a RB in addition to a veteran S in FA.

Correct me if I am wrong but the difference between the Texans schedule and everyone else in the AFC South is 3 games? We all have to play the same two outside divisions and each other.

And if you look at the teams that didn’t make the playoffs this year that made it last year -
Seattle
Minnesota
Chargers
Giants
Bengals

Two of those teams are in the AFC and have franchise QBs. One was injured this year and the other had a HC fired. Both of the AFC. In the NFC you have a better chance to make the playoffs without a franchise QB. Had Burrow not gotten hurt they would’ve been above the Steelers to make the playoffs.

I think what is concerning is you have
Mahomes and Herbert in the same division
Burrow and Jackson in the same division
Allen and Tua in the same division (Rodgers?)

There are so many of the best QBs in one conference.

Those are teams with franchise QBs (I use that loosely with Tua) that have the inside track to the playoffs. Those are the teams you would think would either be division winners and wild card winners.

Luckily we are in a division with weaker QBs in Levis, Richardson, and Lawerence.

That should make it easier to sweeping the division and inside track to get a top seed.

It’s going to be a dogfight to get into the playoffs in the AFC going forward if you don’t win the division. And in some divisions it’s still going to be tough to win the division.

If you aren’t getting better YOY then you will fall behind.

The Colts worry me. Steichen is one heck of a coach. It’s going to be one heck of a chess match between him and DeMeco next season. Steichen has Taylor and presumably Richardson to run the ball down the Texans’ throats. How will DeMeco and company adjust going into next season?

Texans LB’ers finished year one in Ryans new defense on a decent high note. I will openly speculate that the LB’ers will be even better next season.

Pederson is a damn good coach himself & who knows who the Titans will hire. Long gone are the days when Bill O'Brien gave us a coaching advantage (lol).

Playing against them could be a good test of our defense against the Ravens O.

The schedule is pretty comparable to the Texans main rival in the AFC South, the Jaguars.

The Texans will play the Cowboys, Ravens, and Chiefs.
The Jaguars will play the Eagles, Browns, and Raiders.

I'm looking forward to that KC game. The Chiefs will have to make some tough decisions this offseason. I think it will cost around $33 million to tag Chris Jones. And I'm certain Mahomes will demand a vet WR. The LT is a FA as are key players in defense in Sneed and Gay. The Texans could poach some of these guys. How great would Chris Jones look in a Texans uniform?

It's not just the running game although that may be the most dire
 
Clint Stoerner raised an interesting point. - CJ played at a very high level and probably won't play a whole lot better.
My take is this means to get more out of him against good defenses, you gotta get him more help.
Defense is not bad as it stands, so building the offense around him will be the best immediate fix to help him produce more points.
We know he can throw the ball, so why wouldn't you get him better weapons and more time to throw?
Who wouldn't want to see how good he can be in that regard and with less pressure?
Who wouldn't want him to have a nice running game to be able to fall back on to create better opportunities to throw?
We were a little too one dimensional against that Ravens D so it is logical to get a running game going.

Finding the QB comes first. Check that box. Now comes putting the pieces around him.

Theoretically, this makes a lot of sense. The potential problem that I can't help but believe was occurring in the strength and conditioning program was those conducting the program failed to find the correct formula............there were way too many soft tissue injuries.........from the beginning...........to throughout the entire season.
