I think the idea is that the McNairs knew they wanted Caserio. When Kraft failed to live up to Easterby’s standards, he walked away from the Patriots.

Friends talk, Kraft probably told McNair that Caserio was an up and coming guy. Then McNair tried to poach Caserio. That's 1 reason why Kraft didn't want to let Caserio walk even though they let every candidate other accept GM jobs besides Caserio.

Like I said Caserio did the leg work Belichick made the final calls. IMHO

Yes I did and by all accounts a scouts work is pretty much done after February. I mean they have been gathering information and writing scouting reports since spring practices, that's 11 months. I also read where the author said he got the "sense", so I also see that there was some guessing involved.

My interpretation of Kraft's comments is he was displeased by with the process by previous personnel (this is very basic reading and comprehension stuff) and is tickled pink with the new approach and the process implemented by the new personnel (still very basic stuff here). This is not about the scouts, this was a direct comparison of Nick Caserio vs Eliot Wolf, as was noted by the author. Connecting the dots is pretty much straight forward. There is no maze here.

Jaylen Samuels to the practice squad. I liked him as a “swiss army knife” prospect in college. But it seems he is too versatile and not quite competent enough at any one position to maintain an active roster spot with an NFL team at this point.

I posted this in the game day thread but with that disaster, I'm not sure how many will actually visit that thread. Random thought of the day:

During the B'OB era, the Texans have played the Patriots every year since 2015. I think besides divisional opponents, Tim Kelly has more familiarity with the Patriots defense and how they operate than any other team. When you think about it. Although the Patriots went 5-2, the recent games were decided by -7 (2020), -6 (2019), +7 (2018), +3 (2017). Compare that to pre-Watson years when the games where lopsided losses -27 (2016), -21 (2015).

So, I think based on his experience game planning for the Patriots based on O'Brien's concepts, familiarity and focus on the Patriots defense, he was comfortable going against that defense and ended up losing the game by 3 points. In other words, his game plan was based on what he learned from B'OB and how O'Brien would attack the Patriots defensive tendencies.

The problem? He is also game planning how O'Brien would with Watson and even Hopkins against other teams. David Culley mentioned he loved what Tim Kelly did last year in the passing game. If that is true, at this point in his career, Tim Kelly should be a passing game coordinator for an AFC East team and not an offensive coordinator.

Watched my first Texan game in six weeks yesterday. The Rams did show a little mercy toward the end of the slaughter. Lots of laughing and back slapping going on the Rams side.

Most notable thing I saw was the Texan fan wearing a paper sack over his head with "sell the team" written on it.

Sounds like a good movement should be in the works.

Every pre-snap D play had a Texan player running from one sideline to the other to cover someone. Play was usually in progress time he got in position. He'd be too worn out to cover anyone.

This cluster has to be by design. I can see now why Culley and Lovie were available to us.

Our players are being sabotaged. The McNairs gotta go.
