Now do y’all see what I was talking about. Lol we gave them life and they’re taking full advantage. The Titans are rolling courtesy of the Texans
I’m not sure the Texans would have won that last regular season even if they had tried. The Titans are looking like a team of destiny.

I thought the AFC South was supposed to be a weak division.
Well, it was supposed to be, but apparently not. LOL

And I don't think the Titans are going away anytime soon. Jacksonville can improve quite a bit with the right coaching, and Indy could find themselves a QB. Or the whole division could be crap next year. I wouldn't put it past Jacksonville and Indy both to take a dive next year leaving us and the Tits fighting it out.

Imagine if the Colts get Brady.

2018: Offense scored 402 points (ranked 11th) Defense: 316 points allowed (ranked 4th)
2019: Offense scored 378 points (ranked 14th) Defense: 385 points allowed (ranked 19th)

2018: Turnover differential +13 (ranked 2nd)
2019: Turnover differential +0 (ranked 15th)

2 firsts and a 2nd used for Tunsil/Stills. A 1st and high 2nd used on the OL in the draft. Trade a 3rd round OLineman for a new RB. Trade another 3rd round 2020 pick for another RB. And our offense was literally worse than it was the year before. The defense takes a hit as expected as injuries take a toll as well as acquisition capitol being spent on the offense.

BOB got everything he wanted this year to show that he isn't the problem. All the excuses were removed and he wasn't able to show that he isn't the problem.

The sad truth is the Texans currently have this generation's Wayne Fontes (Detroit Lions 1988-1996). It was always everyone's fault but his...
Squandered some good talent, including Barry Sanders. I see BOB and I see a shaved head Wayne.

The Texans shifted roles in their athletic trainer leadership during the season as Roland Ramirez was promoted to head athletic trainer and director of rehabilitation.

After 10 years as the Texans' head athletic trainer and senior director of sports medicine, Geoff Kaplan is now the special advisor for medical administration.

At the very least, trading for Hyde stopped Bill O'Brien from trading another draft pick for Melvin Gordon, and that is a small victory for the Texans.

Melvin Gordon would have been an incredible upgrade from Hyde.

The biggest question mark is why do you give up a 3rd round pick for Duke Johnson when you dont bother to include him in the weekly gameplan?

IMO Duke Johnson should have become the starting RB the moment the 3rd round pick was given. He would have run for as many if not more yardage as Hyde and he would have given you the ability to utilize the complete playbook on every down.

I sincerely feel that the next 3-5 years is going to be really tough for the Texans. It appears O’Brien is the head of football operations. There isn’t a checks and balances system in place. It’s strictly BoB’s way.

I also believe he’s ruling by fear. The stories of him being a powder keg are true. We’ve seen the video. Running a business by emotional impulses has disastrous consequences. What will happen if Watson or Nuk gets on his bad side? Could they be benched or traded away for pennies on the dollar? Hypothetical, I know, but what isn’t hypocritical is BoB has traded away extremely valuable resources. And Tunsil has the team over a barrel. BoB will wind up overpaying him in order to save face. Watson will command high dollar as well. No reputable GM will want to come here.

Lean times ahead for our team...I mean, King BoB, supreme ruler of the Texans.

So listen Unc do you think we should go after Gordon when he becomes a FA this offseason ? What kinda comp would you lay out for him ?

he would be a luxury. i'd assume judging by OBriens comments that the band comes back for season 2 next year. Melvin Gordon is a true 3 down back with dynamic field vision and ability. Im curious to see how the RB market shakes out after all the big contracts handed out to the position over the last few years have had varied returns.

My quickest way to fix the position would be to cut Hyde and allow Duke Johnson to take over lead back duties. Draft a young guy to push Duke and spell him at times, hopefully another versatile guy with good enough hands that can also run the entire playbook.

When you have the 'specialist' roles in terms of 3rd down back and main ball carrier it limits an offense like this one that is so bereft of ingenuity and creativity and it makes the DC's job much easier.

I am no fan of Bill O'Brien. & what I'm about to say has no bearing on him or the job he has done.

But I'm thinking of the state of the Texans. Where are we?

Truthfully, we're in the exact same place as the Baltimore Ravens. Just looking at them & what they've been able to do the past six years, we're pretty much in the same place. Can't get past the divisional round. I know John Harbaugh has done it before, but it's been a while.

If you were the Raven's GM, would you be thinking about firing Harbaugh? Six years. They dominated on offense this season, do you think they can repeat that performance next season? I don't. That's just not the way the NFL works.

It may just be me, but going all in on Lamar Jackson & not getting out of the wildcard... I'd move on. But most people here wouldn't.

Again, forget about the Super Bowl he won. Consider going forward. Would you stick with Harbaugh & how crazy does it sound for someone (me) to be talking about "moving on"?

(I want O'Brien gone last year, don't mistake me for one of them.)

Duke will never be an all down back.

He’s a good 3rd down change of pace guy though.

I’ll be glad when John McClain is no longer covering the Texans. I believe once he’s done...he’s the curse. And the curse will be lifted when he’s gone. I hate his face and voice representing the city of Houston in any capacity. Damn, Houston has the worst sports media covering the cities teams.

How did they go all in on Lamar? They didn’t spend future assets to draft or support him. They did build an offense around what he he does well. There’s a difference between kid got smacked first time in the playoffs experiences HC gets trounced again. One has a future and past success vs going all in now and constant failures. The situations aren’t the same IMO.

I think Ravens fans should be in shock and extremely angry. I know I would be if I were one of them. Flipside if I was a Chiefs fan I would be extremely excited regardless if they lose to Tennessee.

After the comeback beating they handed out to Texans I think the fans would be very let down if they lose to Tits.
I don't see that happening though - Tits may score 28 points but Chiefs will likely score 38. You can't stop that offense.

A good defense can. Or a good defensive game plan. If someone goes Tanya Harding on Kelce, there is a chance.
Colts laid the smack down on them. Only 13 points scored. But ya, I hear ya. That won't happen very often.
A good D will likely keep the scoring down but you have to admit the Mahomes/Kelce combo is fearsome.
Otoh, if Titans loose Henry or he is hurt and cannot do what he has been doing for 8 weeks, what chance do you give them?
