Just goes to show you Green energy isn’t working.
It does sound good until you try to do something with itJust goes to show you Green energy isn’t working.
I think the arm length measurement is far too overplayed. The Texans rookies came from Power 5 schools and faced plenty of top notch talent. Somehow they all had solid CFB careers.
Is arm length that big of a deal for interior linemen? I was thinking that was just a thing for tackles who have to deal with speed rushers and have to work in space more.
I could be wrong about that, though.
Yet they hung 30 on the Steelers and haven't allowed a sack in 2 games.
If this team gets to six wins it will be because our defense is playing lights out and Stroud is exceeding expectations. Well, mine anyway.
Yep, this is why they will have to use a bunch of 2 TE sets and give Deculus all of the help he can get.
Honestly I expect Stroud to be sacked 5-6 times. But as long as he doesn't turn the ball over then they should be OK and playing for a win in the 4th qtr.
BTW, Stroud better get rid of the ball quickly this game, the ol is in shambles.
Another reason they should've waited on a QB.
Thanks Hannah.
Hannah is at the beginning stages of paying for her impatience.
The price to be paid for the decision to draft Stroud is only beginning to be paid.
Best Run blocking RT we've had... imo.Eric Winston had short arms (IMO) - 32 1/4" according to Google - and a solid career with us..
I stand behind everything I’ve said about this Oline. Thank god we have QB that can overcome their short comings. Well so far.
Joe Burrow succeeded in spite of his OL and CJ Stroud (who was comped to Burrow) is doing it now. Must be something to these Ohio State QBs
Yes, short term. The only other healthy option for LG is Broeker. Morrissey can be elevated from the PS two more times. There is also an injured Deiter, who may be available for the Falcon game.Tytus Howard, could Fant cause a position change?
no reason to speculate beyond one game, another dude will be hurt and we will start all over again! Seriously, Fant has been a great addition and at least helps give options. Bobby wants continuity as well, so think he will lean to leaving guys together if working and let them growInteresting thought I had with the Texans starting OL today:
Will Howard stay at LG this season if Tunsil is healthy and Fant is playing well? If/when the OL gets healthy it essentially becomes a question of “who are the 5 best OL on this team currently?” Is Fant currently better than Scruggs returning from IR?
I assume Howard is the best LG on the roster and if Fant is a better RT than Scruggs or Patterson is a LG then it would make sense to keep Howard at LG this season.
Texans Designate Tytus Howard For Return, Place Kendrick Green On IR; Howard To Play Left Guard
OCTOBER 8: The Texans will indeed have Howard and Tunsil back in the lineup for today's game against the Falcons, …www.profootballrumors.com
As of Friday's walk through practice, Tunsil was still limping and Howard will be playing with a club, unable to grab or hold with that arm. Both players will be impaired in their effectiveness.Howard and Tunsil on the same side? It will be interesting to see how successful we are at running left.
These are storms grades?
These are PFF grades. I just checked. These are storms grades?
I'd like that as well, for Ridder too. Is that his name? How many times they were pressured? Can someone provide how many times Stroud was hit or hurried? Thanks

Spent some time looking through PFF and I didn't find these stats broken out by game. Seems reasonable they would be, but I didn't find them.I'd like that as well, for Ridder too. Is that his name? How many times they were pressured?
ProFootball Reference would have the Advanced Defense Stats, but they don't come out until mid-week or so.Spent some time looking through PFF and I didn't find these stats broken out by game. Seems reasonable they would be, but I didn't find them.
You can go to premium stats and then sort by game and it’ll have a game reportSpent some time looking through PFF and I didn't find these stats broken out by game. Seems reasonable they would be, but I didn't find them.
I use that source but as you say doesn't give entire story. Just gathering bits and pieces to share with others. Tunsil pass blocking was higher than I hoped with his knee and not playing. Hopefully, all will improve with week of working together.ProFootball Reference would have the Advanced Defense Stats, but they don't come out until mid-week or so.
They have QB Hurries + QBKD (Knock Downs) + Sack = Total Pressures.
It doesn't paint the whole picture though.
The QB may have done things to avoid being hurried, knocked down, or sacked.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good and Hannah was lucky. Gotta give Slowik some credit for the playcalling too. 3 games in a row without a sack.Seems you had concerns about the Oline as well.
They do deserve some credit though I would say it has more to do with our QB that you adamantly didn’t want than the Oline playing great. He’s making all the right reads and getting the ball out fast. You know the guy you said has never won anything before the first game. Some QBs have the ability to make their offensive lines look better than they are. So far Stroud has done that with trash in front of him. I’ll be the first to admit I was in the be patient on drafting a QB crowd as well. Not because I didn’t like Stroud. I did like him a lot. I was worried he would get Carred with this OL. All praise to the great talent evaluator Hannah! It appears she nailed this pick.
I stand behind everything I’ve said about this Oline. Thank god we have QB that can overcome their short comings. Well so far.
How does this source grade his Run Blocking? PFF has his run blocking grade a poor 60.1. His pass blocking a superb 89.9. Wonder who gets injured next?
Unfortunately, it doesn't. I use PFF for that. I useHow does this source grade his Run Blocking? PFF has his run blocking grade a poor 60.1. His pass blocking a superb 89.9. He gave up 1 hit and 1 hurry.
Why do you keep saying Hannah was lucky??? Why dont you just give credit where credit is due and say that CJ was the smart and best choice. He has all the intangibles, to go along with prototypical NFL QB size, is more of a traditional pocket passing qb, has great accuracy, great ball placement, and above average arm strength.Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good and Hannah was lucky. You think she did the research? Why do you keep saying Hannah was lucky??? Why dont you just give credit where credit is due and say that CJ was the smart and best choice. She wasn't lucky...she, cal, and the Texans did their research and were SMART.
No, she was smart enough to let her football people do that. She just listenedYou think she did the research?
LMAO
Or the fan council. No, she was smart enough to let her football people do that. She just listened
Then you should leave Hannah out of it. Your football people did what they're paid to doRyans/Caserio made the right call
bro you cant have it both ways...blame hannah but yet not give her credit...YOU decide which one it is and do us all a favor and keep it to YOURSELF.Or the fan council.
Make no mistake, she mandated picking a QB. (She didn't listen to any of the football guys, just the fan council) Didn't matter which QB, she needed a QB to market. Luckily Ryans/Caserio made the right call since Hannah made the mandate.

Then you should stop saying it was all Hannah and her marketing group that drove the draft and is driving this organization...again talking out both sides of your mouth is ridiculous and old on this board.I give her credit for being lucky.
Do you think she knows a damned thing about players strengths and weaknesses in the draft?
She told Ryans/Caserio to find a QB and Ryans choice was Stroud.
At least she didn't do like Tepper and make him pick the QB he didn't wantShe told Ryans/Caserio to find a QB and Ryans choice was Stroud.

Like Bob McNair and most any other owner would do?She said get me a QB and Stroud was the pick between Ryans/Caserio.
Like Bob McNair and most any other owner would do?
The Texans went years without a QB. They had to get a QB. The QB fairy wasn't going to leave a QB under the pillow. How did Bob McNair telling RS to go get him a QB workout the couple of times he made mandates to his football people.
Same stuff I heard. Also she is behind the new glitter helments and other stuff coming….Or the fan council.
