Watt is not underpaid. He got a contract to play NFL ball the best he can. He is playing money wise for his next contract whenever it comes.....

Something I've never had happen before, mid-practice a #Broncos player said to me "The #Texans are terrible..."
Brandon Krisztal ‏@BKDenverSports

who said that?

Manning on today's practice w/Texans: "I thought our offense stunk today. Their defense totally kicked our butt.''
Brian T. Smith ‏@ChronBrianSmith · 6m
#Texans' Ryan Fitzpatrick was off target several times today. In final situational scrimmage, went 1 for 6 with two picks. At least two ...
Kinda goes against what the other player said, but
Then there's The Fitz
But we know we suck.... isn't that what we've been saying? 4 wins, six if we're lucky.
It's not an insult to say a dead man is dead.
What is bad, is that he thinks we don't know. That he thinks it's an insult.
Texans better pay Watt...
He's starting to get antsy...
With what money?
J.J. is under contract and with the Texans' current cap situation they aren't going to be able to offer him the type of contract he wants at the moment. He'll get paid, but it won't be this year so he's going to have to suck it up, it's not like he's currently getting paid peanuts.

:mariopalm: l just watched NFL insiders on ESPN and Peyton Manning's press conference. Apparently he and whoever the unnamed player is are not on the same page or share the same opinion of the Texans. Peyton was pretty pissed off and thought his team was the team that sucked today.
That unnamed player has to be a defensive player, because apparently our defense broke the Broncos today.
They better figure it out.
Watt is kind of taking a passive aggressive approach towards this and that's not good.
Passive aggressive usually leads to an outburst of emotion. I'd hate for that outburst to end in a trade demand or a hold out or refusing to sign long term, taking the franchise tags and walking when it over.
Watt has very little leverage at this point. He has 2 years left on his contract, and then he can be tagged twice (I think).
If they sign a deal before the season starts, I'd want to it to reflect the fact that the Texans control his rights for the next 4 years anyway.

JJ Watt is not the only one who wants an extension. I hear #Texans have been very engaged recently, making progress to a new deal.
Meh...1st practice against an unfamiliar defense. Sounds like last week started out. I wouldn't mind Case and TS "turning it on" this week, though. "God-Almighty" Peyton Manning didn't seem like his offense had the best day against an unfamiliar defense, either. Grains of salt, my friend. No need forEh, Fitz throwing picks is nothing new.
We knew the Texans weren't going to be great after AZ.
Obviously we'll look bad next to a superbowl team.
Maybe we'll get lucky and Case or Tom will "turn it on" this
weekend..
I'd be surprised if Denver's isn't. I think the Texans should do well, though, if they stay healthy.Sounds like the player who said "Texans suck" has to be from the defensive side of the ball. But we already know that the offense is going to be up and down at best, and I don't expect much from that unit this season. I'd be disappointed if the Texans defense wasn't one of the best in the league this year.
RAC's D is built on deception and he usually does a good job against Manning. Should be an interesting half of football Sat. nite with Watt and JDC on the field together. I'd like to see a series or two from Cush, also.Crennel's defense has ALWAYS given Manning fits. Ted Johnson was talking about this the other day on 610. His time under Romeo with the Pats he was 7-0 vs Manning.
I know it won't happen now but I want to see case with ones all week and Saturday. IMO he played best on Saturday. His arm is superior to fitz. Tom is far behind.
Were you rewatching the Arizona game? Case wasn't very close to Fitz at all, and I mean that in a bad way. I gotta admit the KeenumI know it won't happen now but I want to see case with ones all week and Saturday. IMO he played best on Saturday. His arm is superior to fitz. Tom is far behind.
I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean...?I would MUCH rather choose from manziel/hoyer than fitz/keenum.
Wow, I know you're a Case fan, but what game were you watching? You thought Case outplayed Fitz?
Rewatch last night's game and/or move to Cleveland. We don't need any more idiots in Houston.I would MUCH rather choose from manziel/hoyer than fitz/keenum.

Agree.Clowney and X trumps Johnny and the CB they took and we didn't give up anything .

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-On field today:
P.ManningLove joint practices.
D.Ware
V.Miller
A.Talib
JJ Watt
J.Clowney
Andre Johnson
W.Welker
J.Elway
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-Coolest thing about Hou-Den joint practices: Demarcus Ware standing on sideline, studying rush technique of Watt, Clowney.
I thought, "Maybe that's why he's the best defensive player in football."
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-Post-practice, Texans walked off field. Watt went to individual sled, knelt before it. Did 4 sets of 8 punches on sled.
"I was fine--until JJ Watt ruined our practice."
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-Asked Denver OC Adam Gase walking off field after first joint Texans-Broncos practice, "How you doing?" Said Gase: ">>>>>
You're such a dork. LMAO.I don't consider myself to be a Casebut mediocre talent? You've either got talent or you don't & Case has shown that he has enough talent to play in this league.
His problem is between the ears, the kind of thing coaching is supposed to fix. I don't know if Case can/will ever catch on, or "get it" but he wouldn't be the first talented mofo who couldn't.
You either cant see or won't see. Hopefully it's nothing venereal.Lol if you know me or read my posts you know I'm not even close to a Keenum homer. I preferred we drafted teddy b with our first pick. But since we have these three qbs I will evaluate them unbiasly. Case was 6/8 in the third and then threw a solid pass that was picked. His next drive was full of dropped balls and miscommunication on routes ran. He was the most accurate and isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield. I would give him a shot with our ones to get a true comparison.
I gotta admit the Keenumare getting old.
There's been some speculation that the refs will ease up once the season starts. But I heard on the radio today that this may not be the case. The league want to carry these tougher contact rules into the season. It is just the preseason... maybe OB will let them let it fly & test these new NFL rules.
Not any older than the Case haters.
There aren't too many, if any, of these. The claim is: the book is still open on Case. In other words, we are keeping an open mind. The ones who are "tired" have a closed mind that Case just doesn't have the tools to start.Nobody hates Case, he's one of the most likeable Texans ever. Some are just tired of hearing about how he is a legitimate NFL starter.

Duane Brown said he didn't know he was going to have Saturday's game off. Calls it "a pleasant surprise".

In the release from the Texans, Duane Brown says he matched up with DeMarcus Ware for the majority of the day. Nice!
That's four years from now, no need to panic. Besides can always fall back to our secret weapon in Bob McNair who is the bull whisperer. They better figure it out.
