Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

What's not true? If NFL had evidence they would have suspended Watson No Doubt. Whether the HPD has found anything is not known so the statement that they have found no evidence could be just as true as if he said they had found evidence we just don't know.
Once again. They cannot get access to the evidence HPD has because they are still investigating. Just like the MLB situation with Bauer

I care as much about what happens after Watson gets traded as I did about Bill Cosby. But for now, status quo (no NFL restrictions) is better for the Texans than if he’s suspended or put on the CEL.

After the trade, I hope justice prevails. What that looks like, I don’t know.

Hey, if evidence hasn’t been spilled on the 6:00 news, or Twitter, then there is no evidence. I thought everyone knew that.

Free the man so we can get those drafts picks, by god.
Lol haha. Also, I should have known to say this. Complaints are filed under seal until they become charges. Only other law enforcement agencies can get access to those. So being the NFL is not a law enforcement agency, they may not be able get access to those. However, I’m 100 percent certain NFL investigators asked if Watson will be charged. I’m sure they asked that. HPD could tell them.

Get it done, Nick.
Where does Goodell ever say he can be traded? In fact I’d be surprised if he would even consider allowing a trade under duress when that is exactly what the NFL and the owners don’t want. As far as I know he just simply declined to put him on the CEL.

Exactly. But kept the open the option for suspension

I dunno wonder if Buzzbutt appears at Texans practice this morning, holds his own presser and starts cracking wise again about his
masseuses ? So now that Buzzbutt is into massages, back from his honeymoon, home in H-Town does anyone know if he's contacted Deshawn yet to get some recommendations on some local ladies ?

Why would he deny it? All teams know the risks involved. He could very well be put on CEL after trade, what team he plays for matters nothing. The concerns in early stages of nixing a trade was one party not informed of legal issues

Seems to me the season and training camp got in the way of the investigations. How could he put him on the CEL list before they are complete? Of course the hair salon gossip will put all kinds of lipstick on this pig. I believe Goodell is an attorney? Pretty sure he knows the protocol.

Uh, the Concerns with a trade is by a forced demand from a player…and one that just signed a contract Extension. Is that or is that not a current concern of the NFL and the owners? Pretty sure all sides know the risks But the biggest risk would seem to be the NFL’s structure of parity.

Certainly a legit concern, but if Watson is willing to gamble and sit out a year, maybe 2, that does nothing for the Texans. They’ve eventually got to get something out of it.

I don’t know because I’m not a gambler but how much of the NFL’s wide popularity is due to the sense of parity that Watson is trying to compromise? Is the parity in any way healthy for Vegas betting? Don’t know, just trying to follow the money.

It seems from all the sources out there now commenting on the NFL stating there are no restrictions on Watson that makes him more tradable. The Texans now admitting they are willing to trade him seems that makes him more tradable.
I hope you really don't believe that.

That’s not what they said. They said they cannot interfere with HPDs investigation. And will wait. Because they haven’t even talked to him yet. And cannot until HPD is done.
That’s exactly what they said when they didn’t put him on the CEL. If they find out different they will put him on the CEL. But nothing is expected to change until after the season.

Once again, no he is not tradeable right now. No one is going to give up assets for him to be charged. That would kill a franchise
Once again if teams are calling, they’re willing to give something up. What, we don’t know. But he’s more tradeable now than he was a few days ago when teams thought he would be placed on the CEL.

If they did trade him and he gets charged the league could nix the trade.
Not if it’s a year later
Can you imagine the administrative nightmare of nixing a trade? For example. If the Texans use the pick in the 2022 draft and then the trade is nixed because Watson gets charged. How do you "nix the trade"? Does that team recoup that draft pick? What happens to the player that was drafted with that pick? Would the returned pick be at the same spot? The NFL is not going to jump through these hoops to accommodate Watson and the Texans.

It would seem that any trade would have to be with conditional picks based on his availability because nixing a trade a year or two later is not feasible.

Won’t take a year. That’s why I think the NFL knows if he will be charged or not. And when.
The NFL has no idea. The reason for that is while they could be told he is going to be, a judge could toss it out for some reason. Just like they could think he won't be and the DA goes forward.

As far as a trade, I would think that it would be "buyer be ware". Meaning, if the NFL allows a trade, the team receiving has to suffer if he is charged and/or put in jail. In short, once the Texans no longer have him it is not their responsibility anymore. Be it Philly, Miami or whoever. They are then 100% the one who has to deal with any fallout. Only seems fair seeing everyone knows the situation. It might be different if they were unaware.

If any of the complainants said yes in the complaints that they want to press charges, a judge cannot throw out a charge before it becomes a charge. At least, not how it works in Harris County.
