The Cowboy's OL has just taken a hit. Top LG Tyler Smith left last game with lower extremity injury. It turns out to be plantar fasciitis. He may try to play through it with a metal sole plate and injections. Even so, his performance is bound to be significantly affected.......effective pushoff will be extremely difficult.

A principle I've stuck to along with most of my fellow surgeons is never try to play through the pain............it will only worsen the condition. Rest is necessary until all pain has resolved.

I slow-moed the play.............there is no way that Chubb did not suffer an ACL. His right foot stuck in the turf and his tibia slid forward.
 
Fans who have thrown drinks at games have been dealt with harshly

The NFL still hasn’t said what it will do about Panthers owner David Tepper, who threw a drink onto fans outside his suite at EverBank Stadium on Sunday. However, NFL teams have not taken kindly in the past to fans throwing drinks onto players.

In 2018, a Patriot fan who threw a beer at Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill was banned for life from Gillette Stadium. The fan also was charged with disorderly conduct.

The following year, a Browns fan was indefinitely banished from FirstEnergy Stadium for throwing a beer on Titans defensive back Logan Ryan.

“This individual person’s action is not tolerated in our building as it is not reflective of our fan base or city,” the team said in a statement. “We are currently addressing the situation internally, along with NFL Security, and we believe we have identified the person involved. He will ultimately face an indefinite ban from FirstEnergy Stadium for the unacceptable behavior, which is in clear violation for our Fan Code of Conduct.”

Every team has a Fan Code of Conduct. Carolina’s specifically prohibits “throwing objects.” It generally frowns upon “behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in nature.” This game happened in Jacksonville; the Jaguars have a similar if not identical code.

Given the strongly-worded public statement the Browns issued after a fan threw a beer on a player, we asked the Jaguars if they have a comment on Tepper throwing a drink on their paying customers.

Jaguars P.R. said the team does not have a comment.

Hopefully, the NFL will have a comment soon. The league likes to say playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right. Ownership should be the same kind of privilege. And if owners are going to engage in the same kind of behavior that would get a fan banned for life from a given venue, there needs to be something more serious than a fine that would be the multi-billionaire’s equivalent of a parking ticket.

The NFL fined Panthers owner David Tepper $300,000 for his “unacceptable conduct” in Jacksonville during Sunday’s game.

“All NFL personnel are expected to conduct themselves at all times in ways that respect our fans and favorably reflect on their team and the NFL,” the NFL said in a statement.

A video posted on social media Sunday showed Tepper throwing a drink into the stands from his open-air suite at EverBank Stadium following an interception thrown by Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young.

Tepper finally responded with a statement after the NFL announced the fine, but he did not apologize for his action.

“I am deeply passionate about this team and regret my behavior on Sunday,” he said in the statement. “I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose. I respect the NFL’s code of conduct and accept the league’s discipline for my behavior.”

On Nov. 26, Panthers beat reporters heard Tepper yell an expletive as he exited the locker room following a Week 12 loss. He fired coach Frank Reich the next day.

The Panthers have had six consecutive losing seasons since Tepper paid $2.75 billion for the team in 2018, and he has fired three head coaches in-season since 2019.
 
Kenny Pickett denies rumors that he refused to be Steelers' No. 2 QB in win over Seahawks

Responding to rumors that he refused to.. dress as Pittsburgh's No. 2 quarterback Sunday while Mason Rudolph started, Pickett told reporters that the team's trainers made the decision for him to not suit up and that he actually would've started if he had been deemed healthy.

He went on to say that he would dress for the Steelers' game Saturday and back up Rudolph against the Baltimore Ravens

I agree it's harsh. And I happen to think harsh is 100% applicable here. I mean, it's assaulting a fan for f*ck sake. What other wrong doing would warrant a severe punishment if not that?

Like has been said, there's no amount of money they can fine him that would even come close to really effecting him, but I bet legitimately hamstringing the thing he truly cares about sure would.

Better, they could force him to sell the team just like they did the previous owner. Or take their top picks for the next 3 years. If you really think throwing a drink on a drunk fan is bodily assaulting that is. Punish thousands of fans because one drunk got a little wet :rolleyes:

NFL reminds players to 'clearly' report as eligible

The NFL distributed a video reminding players who wear Nos. 50-79 or 90-99 to "clearly" communicate with the referee when reporting as eligible receivers.

"It is the responsibility of the player to be sure that change in status is clearly communicated to the referee by both a physical signal, with his hands up and down in front of his chest, and to report to the referee his intention to report as an eligible receiver," NFL senior vice president Walt Anderson said in the video.

Sure, bodily assault may be a little much but that doesn’t give someone the right to do it, especially a damn multi-billionaire. Fans pay a f*** ton of money to go to these games and line these billionaires pockets even more. They don’t get to take their frustrations out on fans. I think the loss of a draft pick is more than fair compensation. That would make an owner think twice next time. $300,000 is nothing to these guys. And as far the Panthers team getting hurt for it and thus thousands of fans as well, he should feel the anger of those fans for putting the team they fork over their money to and root for, in that situation. And drunk fan or not I think he ought to be buying that fan seasons tickets to the team of his choice too.

He didn't apologize because he wasn't remorseful.
