There has evidently been a leak from the NFL league office with possible "destruction of evidence" involved.

The #Dolphins have passed QB Jay Cutler on his physical and he's officially signed his deal. Means his shoulder cleared, too.
Sounds just like Cutler.

Jay Cutler: I’m a quarterback, I don’t have to be in great shape
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 7, 2017, 2:14 PM EDT
Is new Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler in good enough shape to play after spending the last few months in retirement?
“The good thing is I play quarterback so I don’t have to be in that great cardiovascular shape,” Cutler said with a smile today.
Cutler said Dolphins coach Adam Gase called him last week, asked him if he was in good enough shape to play this season, and when Cutler said he was, they quickly agreed that they could make it work.
“I told him I was good to go. It was very short, very brief,” Cutler said.
Cutler said he’s just getting a feel for the Dolphins’ facility and wants to “figure out where the dinner room is.” He’s confident that within a month, he’ll have figured out enough to lead the Dolphins on the field at the start of the regular season.
Really bad idea. This is exactly why the final decision makers won't sign Kaepernick - this kind of f**kin' circus.Colin Kaepernick Rally to be Held at NFL Headquarters

A rally in support for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be held later this month, according to a social media post by movie directory Spike Lee.
The "United We Stand" rally for Kaepernick will start at 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 23 and will take place at 345 Park Avenue in New York City.
345 Park Avenue is the address for NFL headquarters.
It is not immediately clear if Lee is the sole organizer of the rally or if there are others involved.
Kaepernick, 29, last played for the San Francisco 49ers, throwing 16 touchdowns and four interceptions in 12 games during the 2016 season.
Kaepernick has not been on a roster since, causing speculating from around the league that his free agency status might have something to do with his political views and that he is being blackballed by some NFL teams.
Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem before games last season, and said he won't do so until there is significant change in the United States. He said earlier this year that he will now stand for the anthem.

will there be a gameday thread for tonight's preseason game?
"It's a lot slower than I really thought," Fournette told NFL.com after the Jaguars' 31-24 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday night. "That's how I've been since I first got into the NFL. A lot of people were like, 'It's going to be fast.' But by me playing in the SEC, that kind of helped me a lot.
"I think, to me, it was really easy."
Fournette, the No. 4 overall pick in the draft out of LSU, rushed for 31 yards on nine carries and scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.
Hopefully the Texans show him how really "slow" the game is.Big words from a guy averaging 3.44 yards against scrubs. Pats didn't really play anyone, as the usually do in preseason. Reality will catch up to Fournette sooner rather than later.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended six games by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The suspension comes as a result of an investigation that started more than a year ago after an ex-girlfriend accused Elliott of domestic violence in Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus City Attorney's office announced in September that it would not pursue charges against Elliott because of "conflicting and inconsistent information," but the NFL can penalize a player even without legal charges.
Elliott is expected to appeal the suspension, league sources told Schefter.
Elliott has three business days to file notice of appeal, and a hearing must be scheduled within 10 days of receipt of the notice, according to Article 46 of the collective bargaining agreement, which governs appeal of commissioner discipline.
I expected that after such an inexplicably prolonged investigation..............Jerruh now will be changing his shorts with much frquency for some time to come..............
If only the Texans had some high-round draft picks to play with when the trade market is so friendly like that. E.J. Gaines and a second-round pick is not much for a potential stud and All-Pro at wide receiver. Granted, Sammy Watkins hasn't lived up to his expectations and injuries have slowed him down. He still put up a 1,047-yard, 9 TD season in 2015. Big play Sammy is only 24 years old as well.Sammy Watkins traded to Rams

Sammy Watkins is headed to Los Angeles.
The Buffalo Bills traded their star wide receiver and a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Rams in exchange for E.J. Gaines and the Rams' 2018 second-round pick, the teams announced.
In a separate trade, Buffalo acquired wide receiver Jordan Matthews from the Eagles in exchange for Ronald Darby and a 2018 third-round pick, the teams announced.
Around the NFL will have more on this story shortly.
Ezekiel Elliot is expected to appeal and have his suspension reduced to four games rather than six. My question is why? If he really is guilty for something as serious as domestic violence - something that took a year-long investigation and millions of dollars by the NFL - shouldn't he just man up and admit his mistakes? Accept the six-game suspension.
He's lucky a video hasn't surfaced of him hitting that woman. A video is a hundred times worse than just allegations. There was a separate video, totally unrelated, of him exposing a woman's breast on a St. Patrick's day parade in Dallas.
The sad thing is Jerry Jones is furious and appalled by the six-game suspension and he criticized the NFL for taking over a year to investigate and hand down this, as he words it, "unfair and harsh punishment." He feels after that long there shouldn't be any suspension. Really Jerry? I guess some NFL owners still don't think domestic violence is a big deal. Do we really need a video to surface before we start to take these things more seriously?Well he's not confessing his guilt..
MRI has confirmed ACL rupture.......officially #13........out for the season. The Dolphins may have company for Tannehill on the ACL rupture list............2nd round rookie LB Raekwon McMillan. Gase is denying that the injury has been identified. The way it happened and the fact that he was seen leaving the locker room on crutches and with a big knee brace, makes me believe the is a significant chance that he has indeed suffered an ACL. If this is confirmed as I suspect, it will be "lucky" #13.

The problem is that the woman has zero credibility, and was caught telling friends to lie for her. The only proof she had was bruises that she apparently got in an unrelated bar fight.
Honestly, I think the Ginger Hammer is trying to make examples out of players from the most popular teams, so he can build a tough guy image. Same with the Pats and Deflate Gate.
If Zeke did it, he should confess and do his suspension. If he didn't, that is a different story.

Dolphins' QB Ryan Tannehill will undergo reconstructive surgery and be placed on season-ending IR, as @ArmandoSalguero reported.

I don't know. The Cowboys supposedly did their own investigation & found the claim baseless. From Jerry's pov, they're suspending him 6 games because some woman made a money grab, frivolous lawsuit.
Basically Zeek is being suspended because his girlfriend got mad at him. What kind of precedence does that set?
NFLN released the letter yesterday. There were multiple incidents concerning abuse and his behavior. Seems to me that Elliot wasn’t so forthcoming about all the facts.
"You must have no further adverse involvement with law enforcement, and must not commit any additional violations of league policies. In that respect, you should understand that another violation of this nature may result in your suspension or potential banishment from the NFL."
Now, that doesn't mean Elliott would be banished if he gets in trouble again, but it means the punishment would be on the table if he were involved in another domestic violence incident. The NFL's domestic violence policy even notes that a second domestic violence incident will result in "banishment" from the league, with the possibility of applying for reinstatement after one year. The threat from the league means that Elliott needs to stay out of trouble.
Thank you.
The question is since the OLine has "changed" and with Elliot not there to deflect attention to him, will Prescott maintain or regress if he doesn't step up from his game manager approach.
Where does Dak Prescott rank among NFL QBs?
Andrew Tobolowsky, WFAA Published 10:56 a.m. CT Aug. 7, 2017 | Updated 10:56 a.m. CT Aug.
DALLAS - Since there’s not too much else to talk about during the NFL offseason, many NFL writers have turned to the treasured past-time of making lists. Where the Dallas Cowboys are concerned, one thing about these lists has stood out pretty consistently. That thing is, Dak Prescott is almost always ranked somewhat low.
Not super low mind you, and not always – here’s Fox Sports ranking him seventh. – but usually he’s not in the top ten. Sporting News has him at 12, so does Pro Football Focus, MSN has him at 14 behind both Eli Manning and Kirk Cousins.
I don’t honestly know where to rank Prescott, and I suppose most people don’t either. QBs get a lot of credit when the team wins, which the Cowboys did, but also are expected to throw lots of TD passes. Prescott's 23 TDs ranked him 16th in the league, tied with Blake Bortles and behind Cousins and Marcus Mariota. Prescott was phenomenally careful with throwing fewer INTs than anybody but Tom Brady, and in four more games, but that too has a stigma. Low TDs and low INTs makes you look like a game-manager, and little more...........REST OF THE STORY
I believe that the new composition of the OL and the loss of Elliot will expose Prescott's formerly masked warts and reclassify him from "top tier."I can't find it, but Cynthia Frelund from NFLN did a thing the other day where she amended her Cowboys' W/L prediction from 10.5 games to 7.5 games without Zeke Elliot. Dak is good, but Zeke allowed him to not have to take chances.
