Injury Thread

You'll have to excuse me if I don't believe the practice implications of today's participations (in particular the players that had LP).................I suspect that this more reflects a cushy PR-type of practice, than a predictive one. We'll see how the rest of the week goes..........including for Hinish and Pierce.

********************

Thursday

DNP:
Kamari Lassiter (shoulder), Jimmie Ward (groin), Robert Woods (foot)

LP: Derek Barnett (shoulder), Kenyon Green (knee), Jake Hansen (back), Tytus Howard (hamstring), Joe Mixon (ankle), Del'Shawn Phillips (hip)

FP: Kurt Hinish (calf), Dameon Pierce (hamstring), Laremy Tunsil (ankle)

Jimmie Ward will, not play Sunday. He underwent an MRI which confirmed that a preexisting groin injury he aggravated against the Bills. Another example of coming back too soon after a soft tissue tear.

The team has finally identified that Lassiter had sustained a scapular (shoulder blade) fracture which will not require surgery. They are reporting that " he is expected to sideline him at least a few more games." The truth of the matter is that a player that has sustained a scapula fracture (even a stress fracture) that does not require surgery typically will not be able to return to contact sports safely before 6-8 weeks.............and sometimes up to 12 weeks. Aggressive return to activity too early can easily result in re-fracture.

Today players that did not practice:
Azeez Al-Shaair, Henry To'oTo'o, Kamari Lassiter, Jimmie Ward, Robert Woods, Foley Fatukasi

Does not look encouraging for any of those players to play Sunday. Lassiter is definitely out.

Packers WR Jayden Reed has no injury designation and will be playing Sunday. He was a limited participant in all three practices this week after injuring his ankle on a punt return in the Week 6. He will play Sunday.

Packers WR Christian Watson (ankle) also was limited all week and is without an injury designation. He will play Sunday.

Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) is questionable..........but hearing he needs at least one more week.

Packers Dlineman Wyatt (ankle) is out.

Packers Dlineman Colby Wooden (knee) is questionable.............if he tries to play, I expect it to be limited and compromised.

Robert Woods LP-will be Questonable, but may try to play with a steel sole plate, in which case, his performance will be affected.

Steven Sims LP-with his back spasms, will probably be Questionable.......he does play, his back is likely to spasm back up, especially if gets hit.

Kamari Lassiter LP................don't have any idea what is going on with him............just know that if they have honestly reported his injury, he should not play this soon.

From the game thread, right after the injury occurred.

I slow motioned the Anderson injury. I believe it is consistent with a high ankle sprain and/or MCL.

Pro Bowl defensive end Will Anderson Jr., the AFC Defensive Player of the Month, left the game with an ankle injury. He injured his left ankle in the first half, but then went back in the game only to not play in the second half. Aaron Wilson

He should never have been allowed to play even for one play after his injury.........it could have only aggravated his injury. There are saying their classic "it's not a long-term injury."
