Just curious but why does it matter what Easterby's job is if he is not signing the paychecks, the head coach or offensive coordinator? He can be offensive and not have anything to do with the game plan or the roster. All these leaks to Aaron Wilson go right back to this FO. What exactly IS Easterby's job? You tell me since you seem to know so much.
790 slacky at the Senior Bowl says Eagles scouts are telling him Gannon got a ride in the Texans jet and met with Cal and Hanna.
You got one of those one station radios huh?I get the privledge of listening to Seth and Sean every morning...and there's really nothing but speculation there. Sean Salisbury is a little bit better in how he just states the obvious and more common sense type stuff, but that other dude on with him with the annoying, swarmy ass voice and comments, he typically gets on my nerves and i gotta flip it. John & Lance are ok sometimes.........as long as they're not being too silly and stupid.
There's just not alot of meat on that bone...Most of these dudes just come off hoping for chaos so that they can get the Larry in Staffords to call in with idiotic takes so they can laugh and/or get their complaining on.....

Find out if the Lackey is going to be at the Super Bowl and get any info on O'Connell for me.790 slacky at the Senior Bowl says Eagles scouts are telling him Gannon got a ride in the Texans jet and met with Cal and Hanna.

1. Texans have several in war room and may want him to have that experience.Game plan is a stretch, but the rest isn't. Why is he in the war room for the draft? Why is he on the headset? Why is he bringing in coaching candidates? Why is he shaping the roster by suggesting certain players aren't right for the "culture". He is the culture coach, whatever the hell that means.
That's exactly what I do for the same reasons. As others have mentioned I just find myself listening to sports radio maybe 1% of how much I used to.Constant flipping between 610, 790 and 97.5. I find myself listening to 790 more b/c of Salisbury's level headed takes..but as i said i have to flip from time to time b/c of that tool on with him & i just find myself steering away from 610 more & more b/c of Seth Payne laughing at his own jokes all the time. 97.5...John's an idiot nuff said.

IF he is doing #4. Does that mean he can influence personnel decisions?1. Texans have several in war room and may want him to have that experience.
2.Headset is a puzzler but perhaps he is just gathering information for Cal?
3. He knows people and at least he is not homeless. LOL
4. If he is the culture coach why would it not be part of his job to suggest certain people that he thinks meet the culture criteria that Janice wants?
technically I guess that would be true but I see him having just an opinion to be voiced and not being much of a influencer as I would define it.IF he is doing #4. Does that mean he can influence personnel decisions?![]()
The leaks stopped when Rootes/Palcic left Kirby.
To be fair almost all major corporations talk about their culture. I work for Exxon and believe me every single meeting we hear about the culture of the company. Its become one of the new buzz words in the business world.
"Most of the expectation" is basically 610 speculation.
Those guys want the drama of a McCown hire so bad, they're not going to even consider any alternatives to that narrative.
The main driver, in my opinion is John Lopez. He seems to be heading more and more in the direction of being a shock jock.
Seems like he only chooses to take the more controversial stances on topics lately.
Keep trying to convince yourself (not for anyone in particular) but I've got another POV. It's all good. None of us know - we can only take what is seen and make assumptions.
Yeah, I guess. NFL franchises are not like most Fortune 500 companies, though. I also checked and literally none of them, with the exception of the Texans, mentions a front office executive in charge of "culture".
Why is that such a high priority when it is usually the result of a good head coach and winning? They are trying to manufacture something that comes naturally to successful franchises.
It just seems fake and something a marketing-first company would pursue. JMO
& none of it makes sense for any football team... well, maybe the Steelers. And there in lies the point, I’ve said all along that almost everything the Texans have done over the last 20 years makes complete sense if you view them as a corporation and not as a football team. The McNairs at the end of the day are company people, it’s how they made their fortune, it’s what they know and it’s what they are comfortable with.

I think Caserio is making some changes as he strikes me as a football guy and not a company guy. Not saying he will do a good job, jury is still out, but you can tell he’s been in the football world not the corporate world. However there will still be left overs from the corporate world as long as the McNairs own it and an emphasis on culture is art of that world.
I didn't see this responded to, so I'll take a go at it. I verified my understanding by googling. The story is, MCCown was making his coaching aspirations known during the last years of his playing career. He and Easterby had become friends through their mutual association with the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). When Easterby was appointed to the position of interim GM late in 2020, he hired McCown to the teams practice squad. Two months later after Caserio was hired as the GM, he interviewed McCown for the HC position. These are the facts as known.
Now, opinion only, Caserio must have really been impressed during the interview. And from Steelb's posts, Janice must have been impressed. And Cal was the one who nixed hiring him to the HC position, with Caserio later offering him the position of associate hc position under Culley.
What does Flores lawsuit has to do with Gannon?Gannon was going to be announced today. That may have been on hold because of the Flores lawsuit.
Unsure yet if McCown comes along or Pep stays or Gannon interviews KOC for offensive side.
O’Connell is off the board.
It’s all over Twitter. Is this an opinion or have you seen some recent information?
I haven't seen anything regarding him for a while
It’s all over Twitter.
Wait a minute, you're speaking facts. For the record, Corrosion didn't mentioned Easterby either way. I don't know what his connection to the Texans is - perhaps he knows a FO employee, because his takes have a certainty to them.
But there's no way in hell McCown gets 3 interviews without Easterby. Name the other team that has interviewed him for anything. Name his qualifications without saying he played QB. Because if playing QB is the qualifier, we should be on the phone with Schaub, Brady, Big Ben, Yates, and a whole slew of others.
Wait a minute, you're speaking facts.
The McNair's are just giving the other NFL owners a fighting chance to compete with them. This owning an NFL franchise thing is just child's play to them.O’Connell is off the board. At this point I don’t know what the Texans are waiting on.
OK, I see, on my computer, you edited your comment, which I originally read on my phone. What does Flores lawsuit has to do with Gannon?
His name is picking up steam in Minnesota as HC.Can they announce O'Connell as the HC before the Super Bowl?
Should they? If he's the guy they want?
Would they?
There is a "pause" since Gannon is not a minority........and Culley was just fired. What does Flores lawsuit has to do with Gannon?
O'Connell is definitely gone to the Vikings. His name is picking up steam in Minnesota as HC.
If we go Gannon I would look at Kevin Patullo for OC. He is the passing game coordinator for Philly, but he has been around Gannon for the past 4 or so years (both came from Indy). Might be someone to watch as getting promoted to OC here. Not advocating for him, as I have no idea if he is good, just trying to connect the dots.
When do you think the Texans will finally announce Gannon? The end of the week? After the Super Bowl?O'Connell is definitely gone to the Vikings.
No.So Gannon is not a sure hire. The Gannon - McCown is back on.
Can't pinpoint that for you yet. When do you think the Texans will finally announce Gannon? The end of the week? After the Super Bowl?
I dunno any chance of keeping Lovie around to manage the defense, but maybe he's already left town ?Someone have a summary of Gannon's experience, accomplishments, philosophies, etc?
Maybe we get him as HC, McCown as OC to step into the HC role if/when the team is ready to take the next step and that's what they've wanted? DC? Hopefully not Gregg Williams.
What Ivy league? Cal has his 4 years from UT Austin-including 4 years on the football team and his masters from RiceNews flash they are not, in fact even Cal is highly educated from an Ivy league.
Gannon, as a DC, used a 43, which is one reason why I liked him over the other DC.I dunno any chance of keeping Lovie around to manage the defense, but maybe he's already left town ?
An honest question here, but what's so good about Gannon? Hasn't the eagles defense been meh?Gannon, as a DC, used a 43, which is one reason why I liked him over the other DC.
Ok, gotcha. I don't think there would be an uproar if it was Gannon. Sure Flores has more experience even before he became the DC. O mean if the Texans are in rebuild mode, look at what he did in Miami while in rebuild mode. It makes too much sense which means Texans probably doesn't do it.There is a "pause" since Gannon is not a minority........and Culley was just fired.
It's been mixed. Total defense: 8th...passing yds per game: 6th.....rushing yds per game:8th. But when you broke the stats into more individual categories, they faired more poorly. I haven't looked into the complaints. Basically he had a bend but not break defense. An honest question here, but what's so good about Gannon? Hasn't the eagles defense been meh?
He and Lovie should compliment each other. An honest question here, but what's so good about Gannon? Hasn't the eagles defense been meh?
