Gameday: Texans Vs Chiefs

Yeah, and I guess there is some improvement here. I mean, last week it was 7-3 at the half and this week we've improved to trailing 7-6. 3 point improvement.

Nice to be on the other end of the penalties for a change. Makes the diffrence between 14-0 and 7-6. Should be at least 7-9 if not for the turnover.

Just rewatched the sack a few times, that was Walker more than Wong. maybe half a sack each at best, but Walker put the first hit on him.

Also Bell saved points, Hall would have either gotten into the endzone or field goal range

Anyone else notice how the team seemed to get a spark after Wong's hit on Holmes on that incomplete pass? The offense and defense seemed to wake up after that.

we're going to have to play a lot better in the 2nd half. there's no way the cheifs keep helping us out so much.

so what's up with DD. is he officially benched? he went from being a shifty tackle-breaking back, to a fumbling back, to a 1 yard per carry back, to sitting on the bench behind Wells. nice.

Wells actually did ok. Maybe the Chiefs just have a hard time with bigger power type backs. Either way we made their defense look like it was full of All Pros in the first quarter.

Roy Williams has 6 catches for 78 yards and 1 TD with a long of 22. Can somebody tell me why AJ cant put up those numbers????

I guess they wanted a change of pace. I can't see them keeping DD out just because of his pass catching abilities, but if he doesn't do anything with his carries he might just be around to catch some balls on 3rd down

Davis has a 1.2 yard average in the first half.

Yeah, Vinny what do you think of "Big John Wells" running today? He looks to me to have finally figured out how to run. He hasn't transformed into a franchise back or anything but at least he can now be listed in the "assets" catagory instead of the "liabilities".

Maybe having Davis out will force us to play a vertical game and we can actually win it throwing downfield...

Is Hollings officially out or just not playing?

He did okay, but he ran into the back of his blockers on that one play inside our own 5 even though he had a hole to his right to cut back into for a few yards. He more than made up for it on that first down run.

You have to actually throw the ball to the guy before he can put up those kinds of numbers! :thumbup

I think davis is hurt...in the first series he looked towards the bench and was out a play or two. also, he has not looked explosive, but then he has not had great blocking either.

Seriously, davis put the ball on the ground all over the place last week and Wells did not see action. i think something is up.

Is this the end of D. Davis' 15 minutes of fame? Wells has come in and shown what a RB SHOULD look like against one of the worst run defenses in the league.. what is wrong Davis?

He has lost something..he needs to get it back if he is gonna be our starter.

Carr looked AWEFUL in the first quarter.. dunno if he was still feeling that stomach virus or what.. but he overthrew on every pass. he is coming around though.

Our defense hasnt stopped the Chiefs at all.. if it wasnt for the penalties we would not be coming into the 2nd half with only a 1 point defecit.

Lets hope they come out fired up and ready to play like they are going against one of the worst defenses in the league.

And lets hope Palmer can figure out how to stop the a damn TE from running all over us.

Wells looks pretty good.. told yall he wasnt a bust :). I dunno if he looks good cause Davis looks SOOOOO bad.. or if he looks good cause he actually is good though.

Is it just me or does Davis look really dang timid when he gets that ball? he is bouncing around behind the line.. cutting back when he should keep running with his blockers, not breaking tackles.. its just depressing.. COME ON DAVIS! My birthday is coming up and I was gonna get me a D. Davis jersey.. now im not so sure that I should.

Anyway, cmon Texans, lets pull it together and show the world that we really ARE a top 10 offense and defense.

1. Roy is probably better than AJ.

2. Our O-line sucks.

Fiddy, its cause Carr doesn't have time to get the ball out on the longer routes.
Well, then be creative, use quick 3 step drops with AJ running a slant and let AJ use his strength and speed. That is what Roy Williams is doing in the west coast offense in Detroit...

Big complaint here: Coleman had a big opportunity to completely blow up Dante Hall on that short pass. And he opts to push him to the ground?!! C'mon Coleman. Be a safety and light somebody up.

Can I just say as a new Texans fan in the UK, this thread is priceless for me, there's not much Texans TV coverage here. Thanks so much... :)

Hey guys, I live in Florida and I never get to see the games on CBS, so I'm stuck watchign it play-by-play online. Could someone assure me that AJ's okay, last I saw from him was the big play he had where it said he was injured. Tell me I can stop worrying... lol.

TD Chiefs. My God Texans, please get pressure on the QB. The Texan pass rush is truly pathetic.

He is fine and is playing

I have one question... What is gonna happen to our secondary when we go up against Randy Moss? We are letting Chris Horn burn us... (I know some of it has to do with lack of pass rush, but c'mon stick on somebody.)

As for Dunta, I want to see him break up ONE pass sometimes this season... Just ONE (And no preseason doesn't count)

He's fine. He just got the wind knocked out of him, and he was back in after sitting out one play.

if I'm an opposing coach, my game plan is to do nothing but attack dunta. he cannot cover. (yet, I hope) a pass rush would help but until I see him make a play I won't think he can cover.

so yeah. run since we can't stop the run and attack dunta. its easy.

We are on track to get 3.. maybe even 4 turnovers this season.

Is this new rule hurting us this bad? we might as well just toss some tackling dummies out there for our secondary.. they cost less and can do the same job.

They get pressure on our QB, but we do not get pressure on their QB. We are so outmatched its ridiculous.

1st down... Oline (wand especially) gets blasted, as does Carr. Johnson drops catchable pass.

2nd down... No push from Oline... 1 yard gain for DD

3rd down... NO TIME AT ALL FOR CARR... Sack...

It's a wonder we are in this game with how bad the line is playing this game... We need a much better Oline and Dline to truly be competetive.

There's another sack. What is it with rookie DLinemen having good days against us?

Our O-line makes everybody look good........remember SanDiego? Detroit? :thumbdown

If they want a chance in this game the OLine is going to have to show up. This is looking more like our first season from the OLine.

This is absolutely unacceptable. Did anyone else notice that Byron was completely alone in throwing the touchdown pass we saw in the highlight just before Carr was swarmed over by Chiefs? What's wrong with this picture?

I'm out. I can't contribute to this conversation in any way aside from negative observations so I don't see the point. I'll let the ReplayTV snag the rest of this mess and throw it on DVD later.

Ugly, Incompetent, Pathetic. If you see anything other than that good on you but I think we're watching different games. The Texans are being punked this season by anyone and everyone they line up against. Pitiful.
