Yep, Kelly couldn't do it but neither can Coach. Gloom, despair and agony on me..Kelly was awful. He had zero credentials for the job. That's on O'Brien, though.
Death to Google Ads! Texans Talk Tip Jar! 🍺😎👍
Thanks for your support!

FtfyWhy would he be fired? Cal was probably playing with his trains all afternoon and didn’t even know the Texans were playing.
Janice: Cal, come have some lunch and watch your daddy’s football people.
Cal: Just a few more minutes mom. And shut the door, I'm trying to use the vacuum!
Are we 100% sure he will be fired? He will be fired won't he? I've seen enough of this. I worry that he goes on some run of wins that saves his job.Is the loser fired yet?
Not yet.Are we 100% sure he will be fired? He will be fired won't he? I've seen enough of this. I worry that he goes on some run of wins that saves his job.
I do, the $$$$ had to come from somewhere to pay the 160 million dollar man.Not yet.
I don’t want O’Brien fired just so it would make me feel better. I want him fired because I believe the team has a better chance of winning without him. When I was still defending him it was because I felt the team played hard for O’Brien. Especially Watson because Watson even said as much. Once O’Brien traded Hopkins I believe he los the goodwill of a lot of the players in the locker. To add to that, David Johnson and Cooks aren’t playing up to their contracts. Cooks had zero receptions yesterday and Johnson looks to be stuck in low gear. Those are the two players O’Brien gambled on big time and so far that gamble has not paid out.
There’s still a few members here that defended O’Brien’s decisions to shake up this offense. Now they’ve gone silent. Do they still believe O’Brien was right? Or are they hoping Watson completely fails so they can continue to blame him for the all the struggles on offense?
ZERO chance of that happening. Are we 100% sure he will be fired? He will be fired won't he? I've seen enough of this.
But we didn't save any money. We're spunt. We're over the cap for the next two years. What money came from where? Pay Hopkins/Reader, or pay Tunsil, Cunningham, Murray, Johnson, Cook, Cobb... None of the moves O'brien made saved any money to pay Watson.I do, the $$$$ had to come from somewhere to pay the 160 million dollar man.
from google: Spunt - to spin something (past tense) Common Misspelling of spin. (not spend)But we didn't save any money. We're spunt. We're over the cap for the next two years. Aren't you supposed to be high already, Thorn?from google: Spunt - to spin something (past tense) Common Misspelling of spin. (not spend)
Don't mind me, I'm just screwing with ya. LOL
Bill O’Brien’s In Trouble. Pretty early to play what-if, but what if the 0-4 Texans (with Green Bay, New England, Indy twice and Tennessee twice still to play) can’t recover, and finish 5-11? That would place Houston somewhere near sixth in the 2021 draft, with maybe the sixth and 38th overall picks in the first two rounds. Problem: They traded both first- and second-round picks in 2021 in the Laremy Tunsil deal 13 months ago. Uh-oh. Not good for O’Brien the GM.
Now, give O’Brien credit. In four of his six seasons as head coach, the Texans have won the AFC South. Those who want to minimize winning four division titles since 2014 should realize the Eagles have won four since 2007, and the storied New York Giants have won four division titles in this century. But the Texans haven’t won more than a wild-card game in January, and O’Brien’s trade of DeAndre Hopkins will reverberate, particularly with Hopkins starring so far for Arizona.
Owner Cal McNair’s been more hands-off than his father, franchise founder Bob, but Cal McNair could have a decision to make after the season. Two, actually. O’Brien brought in smart and authoritative Jack Easterby to run the front office in April 2019. If O’Brien goes, could Easterby, his hand-picked front-office chief, stay in a revamped organization? I wouldn’t bet against it.
So OB says he needs to do a better job. He's been HC of the Texans for 6 years and he still hasn't figured out how to do his job right.
Probably would have been better to have Duke Johnson take most of the snaps from here on out. He looked better in the limited time than the overpaid rundown David Johnson was.
You can only pay so many guys. You could also say that money was spent on DW4/Tunsil and the other saved money was spent on the other guys. But we didn't save any money. We're spunt. We're over the cap for the next two years. What money came from where? Pay Hopkins/Reader, or pay Tunsil, Cunningham, Murray, Johnson, Cook, Cobb... It was spunt, or spendeded..... spunt sounded more appropriatefrom google: Spunt - to spin something (past tense) Common Misspelling of spin. (not spend)

And the betrayal of Tim Kelly is complete. Tim Kelly has followed O'Brien around for 10 years, like a loyal bird dog. His reward for this was to be given the OC job with control over the play calling against 3 of the toughest teams in the league only to have it all taken away when the schedule softens up. I'm no fan of Tim Kelly's play calls but man, that's dirty pool by OB.
The antenna working right on my TV has just become a much lesser issue now.
Thank God. I'd hate to have any hope for things turning around.
......and this is supposed to be the right move? Anyone rallying around his decision? I think players are looking at him like he's the POS they really knew him to be.
This aged well.ZERO chance of that happening.
Book it.
It's not going to make a difference.I want them to simply the system and just let guys make plays vs always trying to be perfect all the time. If you get players thinking too much they play too slow
On the bright side, we're one step closer to getting rid of Watson. It's not going to make a difference.
Can 76 help me with my lottery numbers this week? This aged well.
Some people will choose to be inconsolable. I'm too happy to care about that right now, though. On the bright side, we're one step closer to getting rid of Watson.
Id just like to see it though. I think the system did him zero favors. He has taken a step back and he needs to play better but I believe the coaching and system were a square peg and round hole with regards to his skill set.On the bright side, we're one step closer to getting rid of Watson.
Well we're going to find out if BOB was the main issue or not. So that's a positive. Some people will choose to be inconsolable. I'm too happy to care about that right now, though.
I don't think it's the system. Just the implementation.Id just like to see it though. I think the system did him zero favors. He has taken a step back and he needs to play better but I believe the coaching and system were a square peg and round hole with regards to his skill set.
I see where you’re coming from, but again if the players you have can’t implement the system you want to use you change the system to suit the talent. In NE right now, I doubt Newton is running the same offense they were when Brady was thereI don't think it's the system. Just the implementation.
Amazing concept!I see where you’re coming from, but again if the players you have can’t implement the system you want to use you change the system to suit the talent. In NE right now, I doubt Newton is running the same offense they were when Brady was there
Unfortunately, the damage was done. Clowney gone. Nuk gone. No 1st & 2nd round picks next season. No 1st the following. High priced players not playing up to their value.Well we're going to find out if BOB was the main issue or not. So that's a positive.
no one defended him, but you could see what he was thinking..and let’s not act like having Hopkins here the previous 4 years made a huge difference in our offense...damn sure ain’t making a huge difference in AZ’s right now.Not yet.

Texans don't have a first round pick in 2022?Unfortunately, the damage was done. Clowney gone. Nuk gone. No 1st & 2nd round picks next season. No 1st the following. High priced players not playing up to their value.
Pretty sure the Tunsil tax expires after the 2021 draft, so full guns in 2022Texans don't have a first round pick in 2022?
he is running the same offense..with a sub package that caters to what he does best...I see where you’re coming from, but again if the players you have can’t implement the system you want to use you change the system to suit the talent. In NE right now, I doubt Newton is running the same offense they were when Brady was there
It’s always the personnel and implementation. Every system used and prevalent in the NFL is and has been proven...I don't think it's the system. Just the implementation.
A WCOhe is running the same offense..with a sub package that caters to what he does best...
LJ8 and Kaep are the only guys in modern football I can recall who had offenses built totally around them. Neither of those guys have shown/showed they can beat you under certain circumstances.
In that regard, we shouldn’t want an offense built around DW4 running the ball just b/c it’s a skill set he possess, we should want an offense that fits him a little better than what he was in, but an offense that calls for him to beat you from the pocket....
I think Watson can beat teams from the pocket, I think OB gave him too much to think about and it slowed things down for him. I do think DW needs to get better, I just don’t think OB is the one to help him. I was talking with a friend the other day and we couldn’t think of one player that had gotten a lot better under OB. I know Fitz had a good year under OB, but I don’t think he got a lot better.he is running the same offense..with a sub package that caters to what he does best...

My bad, you're right. Forgot the first 1st was already taken in the 2020 draft.Texans don't have a first round pick in 2022?
