It’s probably because he took a step back. He’s no longer really doing as much with the team like he did the past 2 years. He supposedly took on a lesser role.
AJ/Nuk/DW4 are friends and with a Bienemy interview being forced on Cal this is the moment when Cal has to put on his big boy pants and decide if he's going to let the players decide who mgmt is, or and who is bringing guys in or not bringing them in.

Personally if I'm Cal, I get on the phone personally and tell him Caserio is running the football ops and who goes/stays is Caserio's decision and if DW4 cant live with it that I (Meaning Cal) will put DW4 on the block. If we (Texans org/Caserio) get a suitable deal then we will trade him. If not, he's going to be here until we (Texans org) get a suitable deal. So suck it up and deal with the new reality of who's running the Texans org. I mean it's not like we didn't just give you $160 mil when Easterby was/is here and you gladly put ink to paper.

Well, can’t say I disagree. Tom Brady (The GOAT) himself had no say so in who his OC, or any other assistant, was going to be coaching him anytime they’d let one go.

Speak softly but carry a big stick. AJ has the pulse of the players...he’s widely respected on Kirby by the players & FO alike. When that dude speaks....& speaks as forcefully as he did in that tweet, you’ve breached a certain level of frustration from him.

I think the fact that he spoke like he did...as I said, that pretty damning for Easterby.

Bbbbuuuutttt......the current state of dysfunction that’s been going on on Kirby is way more dysfunction than Easterby ever caused. I mean we’re in a situation now where any of the good candidates may not even want to come here b/c of all the nonsense they’ve drummed up.

It seems as if Easterby has been involved in almost, if not all, our disfunction. What do you think is wrong that he hasn’t had a hand in?

He has been made the face of CURRENT dysfunction after the face we had previously (BoB) was fired. but the 15+ years of this franchise misstepping with its best players was brewing well before Easterby’s arrival. This **** didn’t just arise out of nowhere when Easterby signed on. AJ coming out saying “the texans have a history wasting players’ careers” says it all.

When Easterby is fired, the vitriol will turn to Cal. Bottom line is until this team achieves something on a grand scale to where fans can talk about something else other than failing, this type of nonsense will continue to happen.

Fans always need 1...and only 1 person to blame for the failures of their favorite team. That’s just how it is.

Some how, some way Cal and the Texans are going to hire the worst GM and HC that were available in this year's GM/HC hiring cycle. When I said this was going to be worse than the last two Texans trades I was not kidding.

So, Caserio who is probably THE most qualified, is/was the worst of the lot?
Working for Bill Belichick does not make you the most qualified. History has shown outside Nick Saban the opposite is true. If Caserio is the most qualified then Scott Pioli should've been the GOAT. From my perspective these butt clowns are recreating Pioli's KC Gestapo in the form of the Stalag 17 on Kirby Dr.

LMAO

Could be true

Time will tell, Hopefully the next regime after Caserio is as successful as the regime after Pioli is in K.C. Why do I say this, because even if Caserio was everything Texans fans dream he is, there will be no championships with the cap issues. I look at Caserio as a well compensated janitor. He's got quite the mess to clean up and those type guys usually leave everything well set up for the next regime. Although they get no credit for doing the hard work that has to be done.

Yeah outside of Saban...who is only arguably the greatest college HC of all time. Dude You have 2 data points who you can directly compare to Caserio. Pioli, obviously not a success & Dimitroff who had a damn good run in ATL with numerous deep playoff runs and a SB appearance. Why do you only compare the Caserio hiring to the Pioli hiring though? Answer: b/c he’s the only 1 that fits your narrative.

And also, being the son of a former great GM doesn’t make you a great candidate either. Your guy Eliot Wolf is also now working for Belichick. Will you apply your “Gulag” theory to him in the same way you’ve attached it to Caserio JUST b/c he worked for Belichick?

To be fair, besides Charlie Weiss who was the OC when Brady was drafted, Belichick always promoted from within. Both Josh McDaniels and O'Brien were Brady's QB coach before becoming his OC. I don't think they get that promotion if Brady was not onboard. You have to admire the stability and continuity of the Pats during their run.

I believe this is why McNairs have been so patient with their HCs. New England, Pittsburgh, & now the Chiefs promote from within.

Off the top of my head, all the dynasties have promoted from within.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it should take 6 years to realize your coaches aren't very good at coaching coaches.

But I think that's the "way" the McNairs are trying to establish in Houston.

If Watson or Jamey Rootes leave the Texans, I'll leave the Texans as a fan unless/until new ownership arrives.

Watson, not just because he's a superhero on the field. But because I trust his judgment. If he thinks McNair's lack of leadership and ethics are so corrupted that he exits just after a huge 4-year extension, I'm with him.

And if the distinguished business executive Jamey Rootes, who took responsibility (or took a bullet) for firing Amy Palcic for "cutural fit" reasons, leaves the Texans this offseason for "cultural fit" reasons, it's confirmation of the stories that he already tried resigning due to the weak-willed McNair being gaslit by Easterby, Caserio and their agent Bob LaMonte. In that case, the McNair-owned Texans aren't fit to represent Houston.

All I've heard from Watson about the Toxic Chaplain has been positive, as in "he's a man of God" and great to have around the building. I can see where Hopkins has a different perspective, having been compared to a murderer apparently because of his private sex life.

Because unlike you I don't consider Dimitroff a big success. Didn't he just get fired? And unlike Caserio and Pioli, Eliot Wolf's whole career wasn't spent clerking for Bill Belichick.(1 yr as a consultant) I understand how you want Caserio to be your Cream Cheese but your butt clowns only just requested an interview with Bienemy after being completely humiliated. Unlike last week when they could've interviewed him, now they can't even talk with him until after the Super Bowl.

yeah he’s just been a gopher for a lot of teams.

Spin it how you want, fact is your bias is an unmitigated disaster of logic and rationale.

And building a SB team and numerous other contending teams is more than anything your boy has achieved to date.

just take your L and move on.

Ever consider that maybe they don't want to hire him so they don't care if/when the interview him and they are just doing it to extend Watson an olive branch?

Or maybe it's the other way around. If Cal knows his GM is going to hire the HC, then none of the people interviewed before was a real candidate, but a way for McNair to get to know them. He was saving the serious candidates for when his GM was here.

Also a possibility. Maybe Cal and friends didn't like him but Caserio has different ideas. Either way I don't think it will matter to much Texans waited. Unlike a lot of teams looking for a new HC they also had to hire and then bring a new GM up to speed.

This was the fault of Cal/Easterby before Caserio got here.

This should tell you there's no way Cal will ever hire a guy charged with covering up a sexual assault.

That's a pipe dream and if DW4'S gotta go because Cal won't hire Bienemy that's just the way it is going to be.

Plus the new mindset of the Texans boardroom doesn't do insurrection, it's not the Patriot way, so Watson and the Texans will agree, Deshaun's gotta go.

I'm afraid you'll have to leave or get use to it for awhile. Caserio is going to be here for a while, at least for next 4 years. The Patriots mindset is not going away anytime soon. This is what pissed off Deshaun.

Yeah, it is always a good time to talk about firing a GM who has been part of building a multiple time AFC Championship team, 3 time SB team and has had a hand in drafting more pro bowl players than maybe anyone (not sure that is fact).

Caserio has said that he is not running things like in NE. He wanted to leave to be his own entity. Not being known for NE and nothing. However, if he moves around the draft like NE has, I would love it. Turn late round picks into Pro Bowl players and sign FAs that make an impact instantly.

The only thing Caserio knows is the Patriots way, whatever that is. Belichick planned, organized and orchestrated the draft. Could Caserio manuver a Belichick draft? Probably. Would he know and understand all of the reasons why? Probably not. Belichick liked to trot his admins out for media appearances because he hates to do it.

Probably and Yes are all we need. If he can get 75% close to it, we will have a great time with Nick as GM.

Watson is going to stay put. He's paid to QB and lead the offense between the white lines. Caserio is the GM and it's his job to hire the HC that gives him and the organization the best chance to field a fine tuned football team. Once Caserio, the new HC, and Watson have sat down and discussed what the new offensive philosophy would be.....I believe Watson walks away from the meeting looking forward to the 2021 season.
This is what I want to believe. But dern if a very skeptical part of me keeps seeing signs painting a different picture. Watson dropping another cryptic tweet right after Cal says everything is fine is beyond coincidence.

Yep, I'm in. Can I get a username change please, mods?
