Honestly, I could care less about McCaffery.8.5 million base salary to get McCaffrey and I just don't see it. If he was healthy you betcha.
There’s plenty of RBs in this draft.
Just get Burns and Chinn.

Someone help me here. Does Watson get to pick which team he goes to? Is he aware of what each team has offered? I thought the Texans could pick between any of the teams that he would approve a trade to..![]()
Before teams could meet with Deshaun Watson, the Texans approved their trade proposals
On one hand, it would make sense for the Texans to let quarterback Deshaun Watson meet with multiple suitors, allowing him to prepare a list of teams for which he'd waive his no-trade clause.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com

Technically Watson could waive his NTC for only one team after all the interviews. The Texans could tell Watson they want his Top 2 or 3 teams he would waive his NTC but Watson does not have to oblige.Someone help me here. Does Watson get to pick which team he goes to? You sure do want alot for a 1 read qb![]()
Thanks for clarifying Thorn and TexianTechnically Watson could waive his NTC for only one team after all the interviews.
I'm not worried about the haul the Texans are going to get for DW4. I'm worried about what they will do with it. That's what scares me.You sure do want alot for a 1 read qb![]()
Didn't you read his last sentence. He said "teams", plural. If Watson waves the ntc for both NO and Carolina, then the Texans can choose which of the two to go with. Correct? The Texans can't trade Watson without his approval, so if Watson plays his game and say he'll only wave his NTC for one certain team, then that's the deal unless the Texans balk at it. The Texans have the final decision as to if anything happens.
This is a point I haven't heard mentioned or discussed. What is your source?Technically Watson could waive his NTC for only one team after all the interviews. The Texans could tell Watson they want his Top 2 or 3 teams he would waive his NTC but Watson does not have to oblige.
Well if we ignored how the Saints are going to handle dead money it looks like right tackle ramczyk and Slot cornerback Marshon Lattimore could be part of the deal. Throw in Gardner -Johnson at safety and I would be okay with that deal.

You missed my point I do not think Watson wants to go to Cleveland. The cap space is an issue but as you said can be overcome. Cleveland? Cleveland?C'mon man, the bank of Garrett. They have 16m of cap space now, they could convert money of Myles or restructure Watson if he really wants to come there. Not only that, someone would want Baker for 1 yr just as Wentz just got traded, Goff, as well as a slew of others who needed a qb. Its not hard
Yep that's for me: Okwonu next to Tunsil with Garner at 6 or even better as I have Seattle trading up to 6 for QB and we take Sauce at 9.Man, they’ve got to get Burns and Chinn if CAR is the team. Get Sauce at 6 and in the blink of an eye, the defense is legit.
Go offense the rest of the way and get Mills weapons.
That's the way I comprehend but I may be just wishing.Didn't you read his last sentence. He said "teams", plural. If Watson waves the ntc for both NO and Carolina, then the Texans can choose which of the two to go with. Correct?
Social media seems to think so too.I think the Saints are Watson's #1 option,
I think the Saints are Watson's #1 option, but with so much dead money that would go on the books this season for the players that are comparable to the ones on other teams mentioned in a potential deal, how do Saints absorb that much dead money in addition to 35 million Watson incoming salary? I am trying to wrap my brain on a $50-60 million swing.
Yeah but I'm trying not to go there until absolutely necessary.I'm not worried about the haul the Texans are going to get for DW4. I'm worried about what they will do with it. That's what scares me.
I don't WANT this to happen, but couldn't the Texans restructure Watson before a trade to NO to absorb most of his 2022 salary? They are clearing cap space for some purpose (Tunsil restructure, etc) just don't know the reason.I think the Saints are Watson's #1 option, but with so much dead money that would go on the books this season for the players that are comparable to the ones on other teams mentioned in a potential deal, how do Saints absorb that much dead money in addition to 35 million Watson incoming salary? Is DW privy to what the teams have offered or is that Texans confidential?Probably. I'm sure there are political undertones in all this that we the public won't see or know about. Whatever happens, it can't happen soon enough for me.

Watson's deal can be restructured but Saints still would be ~$3 million over so what ever is his base + the prorated signing bonus will make it worse. Nick clearing space for players coming our way. Now space is $11 million after Tunsil restructure.I don't WANT this to happen, but couldn't the Texans restructure Watson before a trade to NO to absorb most of his 2022 salary? Why is his left arm missing? Not surprised at all...this is him in high school..was a ball boy for them back then i believe. Aside from that, ATL is referred to as "black mecca" by most young black business professionals. He'd likely thrive there. And although Matt Ryan is still there & just restructured his deal to help the team, i could see him being shipped off in a packaged deal somewhere else to make room for DW4. Problem is they don't have much of anything player wise i'd want & i don't believe they have the draft capital either.

Aaron Wilson on Twitter spaces gave some insight tonight on how this trade process is working out. I don’t want to quote him incorrectly but from what I’ve gathered- each team has submitted a trade offer to come to the table to meet with Watson. A trade offer that Nick finds suitable. Once Deshaun meets with the teams, he will choose which team(s) he wants- and Nick will hammer out the final details on the trade based off the original proposal from the acquiring team. The parameters are in place.
Side note: an Indy guy(not sure how credible) is reporting that IF Deshaun were to choose Cleveland- that Cleveland would ship Baker Mayfield to Indy for their 1st rd pick and that the Indy AND the Cleveland 1st rd pick would be part of the Cleveland package.
This is an excellent question. Cannot see Caserio telling but other teams could. However a team should hesitate to do so if team thought it would impact his decision. Is DW privy to what the teams have offered or is that Texans confidential?
I should have clarified that he said 2023 1st rd pickIndy doesn't have a 1st rd pick this yr.
Colts don't have a round one as it went to Philly. I would think a Indy guy would know that.Aaron Wilson on Twitter spaces gave some insight tonight on how this trade process is working out. If DW chooses Browns IMO some here going to have to reconsider that he is only interested in his brand.

I think you’re on the right track- from what I interpreted from Aaron Wilson though, is that Deshaun hasn’t waived his no trade clause at all. But he’s willing to meet with these teams(NO, CAR, ATL, CLE). Each team has already put together a package of picks/players that Nick would be willing to accept. That was the requirement to allow Deshaun to meet with said teams. It’s ultimately Deshaun’s choice where he goes. But for each team he meets with, there’s the foundation of a trade already in placeI am hoping my understanding is correct: DW waives NTC for Saints & Panthers. He prefers NO. Nick does his best to get enough from NO if not he goes to Panthers and if he likes that better, trade is to Carolina. Unless some agreement unknown to us between Caserio and DW's camp say otherwise, DW has waived and is gone. He has to trust that NC likes what he can get from DW preference.
This is an excellent question. Cannot see Caserio telling but other teams could. However a team should hesitate to do so if team thought it would impact his decision.
I agree. Therefore, I hope he thinks he can resurrect “his brand” in Carolina. F*** him.Watson tends to make decisions based on emotion. I don't think he'll consider any locations other than Atlanta or Carolina.
More likely in anticipation of bringing on some top FAsI don't WANT this to happen, but couldn't the Texans restructure Watson before a trade to NO to absorb most of his 2022 salary? They are clearing cap space for some purpose (Tunsil restructure, etc) just don't know the reason.

Cleveland has done great things for Baker’s brand. & LeBron would take Watson under his wing.If DW chooses Browns IMO some here going to have to reconsider that he is only interested in his brand.
Good thing this guy is playing fantasy GM like many do here. The biggest thing I wish to see is the three first spread over three years. That is the gift that keeps on giving in terms of draft capital or to use for elite talent. If this is the terms of a Saints trade, not impressed.

I don't like dealing with the Saints. Their 1st this year is 18, future 1sts will likely be well into the 20's. That's not even a starter for me, and I hope it's not for Caserio. If this is the terms of a Saints trade, not impressed.
