BADBOY college players to watch 2023 draft

My old boss and I used to go watch Francis and Dotson play at Baylor those defenses were great. He's a Baylor grad and has had season tickets for yrs. Had Singletary already graduated? I cant remember. I do remember Singletary set a record for the number of broken helmets at Baylor. I dont think he would last half agame before getting kicked out these days. Such anice guy, but when he stepped on the field inflicting as much pain as possible was his game. There was centers that were literally scared of him.
James graduated high school in 86. I think Singletary was drafted in 81 I believe. James brother was there a couple of years before him in like 84.

Any HC worth his weight should see himself as the solution….not a potential statistic. The past is the past, not the future.
Exactly! Give them millions of dollars and the chance to turn a franchise around; that's what most coaches should want. If things were perfect no team would be hiring. same with drafting, free agents or trades the new team or coach thinks they have the process to make everything better. Competitiveness and challenge in that area also.

That was Pearland. It was the Francis and Friends 1st annual. I don't play, but I will drink and smoke cigars. Ware,Eugene Lockhart,Rodney Hampton, and quite a few of those guys were there in August. It was cool to talk to those guys as always.

Let me know, next yr I might put a team in it. What does the tournament benefit?

South Carolina gamecocks at halftime leading Tennessee 35 to 24 with Rattler trying to improve his draft spot with four TDS.

sure is hard to pull the trigger drafting a qb this post-season knowing caleb williams is eligible the following

we'll not be any good next year regardless
and banking on getting the first pick is unwise
still...

If the Raiders dump Derek Carr…..I’d hope Caserio would look into the opportunity of bringing him to Houston next year to compete with Mills or supplant him as QB1.

Wherever Carr signs he is going to be starting. I’d love to see the Texans draft him and allow the Texans build a team out for him. But I think he is going to go somewhere more ready-made and he can be their Matthew Stafford.

The Colts sure could have used Carr in this post Luck era where they were running through vet QBs to put their ready-made team over the top!

Not sure about Carr as a leader. HIs last interview where he was crying and talking about what the guys do to just get on the field (drugs implied), just does not sound like a stable dude mentally. QB has to be top of their game mentally. I think he physically has traits. As reasonably priced bridge while grooming or waiting for new QB in new regime could do worse.

Josh McDaniels loves him some Derek Carr, that's why they went after DeVante Adams. I think this is a bunch of negative nobody talking heads that comes with losing. The offense seems to be more of a Josh McDaniels problem not a Derek Carr problem. Gruden and Mayock put together an offense of WCO ZBS players. McDaniels comes in with his Belichick-Erhardt-Perkins offense. This demise should not be that much of a surprise it's a kind of recipe for disaster. The same thing can be said about the Texans. Last year Caserio and Kelly were running the Belichick-Erhardt-Perkins Offense. Lovie dismissed Caserio's offense. Pep is a WCO ZBS guy. These offenses are learning a new language and a new offense. The results are expected in the first year with players who are more suited for a different offense. Russell Wilson?

Caserio's offense? You're really reaching with your hate now

Caserio's offense? You're really reaching with your hate now
Last year, in 2021, Caserio hired the head coach and all of the assistant coaches. In addition, he controlled the draft and the 53-man roster. Yes, the Houston Texans' 2021 offense was a Caserio design. I don't know how you cannot say his hands were not all over it. Hate has nothing to do with it. You naivete might.

In 2021, Kelly ran OB's offense that the Texans had been running since 2014, long before Caserio. And Kelly was a holdover not a Caserio hire

How quickly we can forget (might be the Kool-Aid). The OB-Kelly offense was the same offense they ran the entire time Caserio was a Patriot. The OB-Kelly offense is the only offense Caserio knows.

So it wasn't Caserio's offense
Of course it was, it is the only offense Caserio knew. That's why in 2021, Caserio hired assistant coaches who knew how to run the Belichick offensive system, the only offense Caserio knows. Now in 2022, the offense is Pep Hamilton's system. This is the primary reason for Davis Mills's difference in performance.

The only assistant coach that nay have known something about the NE offense was Tim Kelly and maybe Ben McDaniels. Pep Hamilton, I don't think so. Lovie Smith, I don't think so. RB coach, nope! Wr coach, nope! It was Kelly/OB offense and Caserio might have been familiar with it but that's all

This should be expected,

He's a Carr, mentally weak.

Easier to pull trigger on one this draft not knowing whether the Golden Boy will do a Spencer Rattler in 2023 or be injured or return to school. More than likely we will not be in a position to get him even if a team will trade down.

Unfortunately I believe we'd be in the position of spending tons of money while waiting for the rest of the roster to develop. I would rather have a young guy that can grow with his teammates. That's the issue that I have going forward with Laramie tunsil.

Why do you think this?

Do you think the Texans will be picking in the top 4 àgain? I do.

What you're really saying is that you are risk averse and are willing to settle for a midget or an Ohio State QB. Settling and being risk averse is why the Texans are where they're at today.

I guess you're tired of the losing and will settle for a few more regular season wins. This doesn't do anything for the hopes of bringing a Lombardi to Kirby.

Issues with Tunsil? Do you not think Tunsil can play at a very high level for another 5-7 years?

LMAO

I just read an article that said Young keeps mental health as his #1 priority.

I want a guy whose #1 priority is football.

Pass on Young.

My bet is that Derek would retire from the league before coming to play ball in Houston for the Texans.

I believe Derek Carr is going to be FA after this season. The Raiders have their only out at the conclusion of this season or they’re on the hook for very stupid money over the next 3 seasons. This contract is not worth renegotiating or extending b/c the cap hit is affordable. So Derek is going to be available and the Raiders are going to be jonesing for a replacement QB…..in the draft.

The Texans may want to pursue Carr in the off-season and maybe one the better hooks could be obtaining WR- Devonte Adams via trade. Carr could be signed for 2 years guaranteed with a 3rd year option.

Devonte Adams contract would give the Texans a decent 2 year run with him at WR before there’s a no return for the stupid money waiting to hit in 2025. If he were unstoppable in 2024….maybe Caserio works out an extension.

I’d propose this trade if I were Caserio.

Texans Get:
WR- Devante Adams
2023 RD1-010
2023 RD2
2024 RD1
2024 RD2

Raiders Get:
WR- Brandin Cooks
2023 RD1-001

How would a receiving group of; Adams, Collins, and Metchie, look? Add in rookie TE target, Darnell Washington along with Aikens and Jordan would give the offense some real targets.

Carr would be a nice veteran bridge for a rookie QB in 2024.

I’d also believe a few moves like this could make the Texans a far more attractive destination for better HC’s.

Why do you say that?
Because of his brother whom I understand he is fairly close with and given his brothers unhappy past here, well ....
Hey don't get me wrong because I'd like to have Dereck as the Texans 2023 starting QB if given the chance.

I think if the Raiders trade Devante Adams they would eat over 30 million in dead cap. I also do not want to pay $40 million a year each of the next 3 years for Derek Carr.
