Yep!
That is one of the 2 plays that resulted in a TD I am referring to.
It is peculiar that a 2nd year safety has to tell a 5-6th year LB who to go cover.

I agree with the overall sentiment, but Dj was a second round pick. He should have came in knowing how to tackle. That's not the kind of thing you need to be teaching guys playing at this level.
Besides, lots of tackles are made without wrapping a guy up. Some guys will go down when a stout 210 lb safety clotheslines him. A lot of guys. Ahmad Bradshaw isn't one of those guys & Dj should have known that.
Still, I'm happy with Swagg. He's a piece to the puzzle. & what he brings, this team desperately needs.
He'll be making plays again. He's been one of the bright spots on this defense all year.
No mention of DJ playing w one arm? Never mind giving him credit for playing injured. I realize that's too much for some people.
...
apparently O'Brien thinks so or Swearinger would be resting and healing.
DJ is awful in coverage. Big hitter, but gets bit too easily. Bust at round 2 Imhop.
Usually with you, FW, but who said we're not going anywhere? If Swearinger was halfway disciplined on the field we may very well be 5-1 instead of 3-3.
Guy does some good things but he's definitely a liability at this point. His coverage and tackling is absolutely abhorrent and costly.
I also hold this hope. The hope that everyone is still learning their roles and learning the philosophy behind both the offense and defense and how they're supposed to work. The whole team is a liability at this point. They're still learning their roles & responsibilities. I think of September & October as an extended preseason. Come November & December, we'll see what we got. As long as we keep our heads above water.... 4-4 through October, then we'll have a shot. Even if we're 3-5, we have a shot.
Me.Yes, I'd love to be 5-1 right now. Yes there was a very real possibility that we could be... most probably should be. But it's not over. Would have made the rest of the season easier, but who wants easy?

Swearinger heard it from all of his family members. Dad said, "Bro, what are you doing? I didn't teach you how to tackle?" His mom and sisters chimed in as well.
And Grandma didn't mince any words.
"Grandma said, 'You, you horrible!'" Swearinger said, in his best grandma voice. "'I don't like that DJ. I don't like that DJ.'"
Swearinger could only agree. He told her it wouldn't happen again.
"I knew it was bad during the game," he said. "Just a horrible performance."
He attributed it to bad technique. Tackling was part of his problem, and that's something the Texans are working on this week.
"You have to make sure that guys are taking the proper angles," coach Bill O'Brien said. "There is a lot of different types tackles. There is the straight-on tackle. There is the two-man tackle where they're both converging on a ball carrier. There is the angle tackle where they can use the sideline. There is the open field tackle when it's just one on one, say on a punt or kickoff, something like that.
Yup, I'm pretty much done with this dude. One decent game out of 7 ain't going to cut it. He's probably one of the worst cover safety's in the league and he sucks at tackling. The dude's like a missile that's missing it's guidance mechanism. He hits his own players half the time. The other half he hits the runner and bounces off due to never wrapping up
Allowing Quin to walk was a huge mistake when we did it and even moreso now
"DJ did a really good job of doing his job," O'Brien on Swearinger. #Texans

Telling comment. And good game from DJ, imo.
I'm guessing he got chewed out after two games where he was freaking that on certain plays guys weren't picking up there assignments, and instead of him adjusting he just flailed his arms and yelled
And it might have been his man to start with
Or maybe the guy that kept missing his assignments didn't play, so DJ didn't have to keep covering for others... allowing him to do his job.

#Texans' D.J. Swearinger reportedly under investigation for stealing truck http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexan...inger-under-investigation-for-stealing-truck/ #NFL
TMZ reports that a police report has been filed in Houston alleging that Swearinger skipped out on a $20,000 bill from Espi Motors for work they did on his pickup truck.
According to the report, Swearinger brought his truck into the shop to have a variety of bells and whistles installed, including matte black paint with a Batman logo, speakers, new wheels, custom grill and a train horn, and then balked at the cost for the work when it was done. He then allegedly took his car from the shop without paying for the work. The shop tried to track Swearinger down, but were unable to do so despite the distinctive look of the truck that Swearingers allegedly driving around town.

.For that much I hope a set of spinners were part of the deal
He doesnt have to pay. He is DJ Swag. He does a regular radio show here in Houston. I listen because I like to challenge myself to understand what he is saying.
Shoot the Bat Signal into the Houston sky tonight and youll catch this Pimp My Ride welcher.
Maybe Bruce Wayne was supposed to pick up the bill
If he was not provided the detailed bill, then he had every right to take the truck until they provide it. There is no dispute resolution which prevents taking your own vehicle until due process has occurred.I've never been too fond of the guy, but I'm going to wait for the rest of the story to unfold. Maybe the shop was trying to work him over? Dunno
This incident was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and we are working on resolving the issue. DJ is just focused right now on his offseason training and looking forward to the upcoming season.
This matter is still pending, and is currently under review by the District Attorneys office, said Deputy Thomas Gilliland, a sheriffs office spokesman. No charges were accepted by the DAs office, they wanted to speak to the other party, Mr. Swearinger, before further review of possible charges.
Gilliland said Swearinger went to the shop Monday to pay for work on his truck, but had previously called and said he wanted an invoice that listed the various components installed on his truck. When shop employees said the receipts and invoices were at another location, Swearinger left in the truck.
D.J. Swearinger's rep has issued an official statement on the story to SportsTalk790:
