2025 Free Agency-

The plan is to draft a guard who can push to start at RG, and a swing tackle to be the primary backup and possibly push to start in 26 in a best case. Other than that, they aren't doing ****.

Considering the total **** show of last season, is that enough? Y'all be the judge. Discuss. I'm verklempt.
They are replacing the majority of the entire OL roster, including at least 60 %, possibly 100% of last year's week one starters. What is the "more" that you were expecting? I think you are just nervous, because Caserio actually had the balls to do what we thought he should... but wouldn't have the balls to do.

Getting rid of the non-swarmers was good The more is replacing them with clear upgrades.

I take it you are happy with the two we’ve signed. Happy for you…but I’m not happy. And leaving it to rookies is risky. I see some mild improvement in 25. Like how can it be worse? But “fixed” as I envision it?

Not even close.

Do you feel better now? I'm sure there are still 2-3 significant moves remaining, if you consider the upcoming draft.

He was terrible in Jacksonville too. Not too worried as the draft is coming up. I’ll be worried if Nick doesn’t draft any offensive linemen. Till then….:shades:
Go back and look at his pressure rate given up in Jacksonville.

He was so good in Jax they traded him midseason for a can of skoal, and some skittles.
You’re acting like he only played a half of season with Jacksonville. You don’t know the reason why he was traded to the Vikings.

Robinson, 29, is in the final year of a contract that pays him $16.25 million this season. The Jaguars will pay a portion of the remainder of Robinson's salary, sources said.

It had nothing to do with his performance. The Vikings were in a need of a left tackle

With Howard and now Brown, all that's left is to draft Josh Simmons for the patella trifecta.
Perhaps the new offensive coordinator's plan is for the offensive line to throw themselves horizontally and try to get in the way of the defenders? At least that's what I'm going to say when these guys go down to their hands and knees on the ground.

It is mindblowing that fans are unhappy about this! This is one of the the most thorough and efficient rebuilds in NFL history. That statement is simply true. Gotta love that part of it! Now, let's see if they build something good out of it... I mean, we've flipped basically the entire roster and, not only haven't we used the draft to any of it yet, we have more draft capital now than we did when the rebuild began.

Well, true but you also have to have caution with the types of injuries the players we're bringing on board. Trent's max of 3 million is insignificant overall and could end up being a very good deal even if he only backs up Fisher.

Only 3 games in 2024 and he will have ~ a year since injury. I doubt if he's expected to pay much unless Fisher goes out.

I totally agree. This is what I mean- Caserio has thoroughly recognized that OLine was the heart of this team's issues last season and has determined to get it fixed NOW! We just have to watch while it happens. He won't stop until it is fixed. As a fan, it is refreshing to have this kind of confidence in the GM!

At least the PT was early in the year, but my goodness Nick loves him some lower body injuries. I am beginning to think it's a fetish.

Yes...you're saying you had an ACL? And a PCL. And an MCL? OMG, don't threaten me with a good time big boy. Come here and sign with Daddy Nicky. Let me see that knee. Take off those pants and show it to me. What a beautiful set of scars. I'm hot. I'm taking off my sweater vest and getting a little more comfy. it's way to hot in here. Now...if you'll just sign on this dotted line....

It is refreshing to see someone addressing problems instead of acting like they don't exist because of draft position or money owed current players. I may not agree with every move but I am damn glad moves are being made.

I think Caserio consults with Ryans, Caley, line coach and doctors then decides if the signing is greater than the risk.

Doc don't care! He knows what he knows. Sure, some like Stingley might be an outlier but he comes with a high risk.
Injury is part of the NFL. Sometimes you can get a player with no injury history who can play. Most of the time you’ll find a guy who can play, but he’s got an injury history. A lot of the time the guy with no injury history can not play.

We spent a 2nd round pick to rent a guy with no injury history last offseason and he went down with a non contact knee injury after 8 games.

But our CB with the lisfranc foot injury who hadn’t played a full slate of games since his freshmen year of college finally got healthy in time to become the league’s highest paid CB.

I have come to the conclusion that it’s the NFL and crazy things happen. You can’t operate in the black and white or you will miss out on opportunities to get good players on your team. Take the injury history into account but end of the day get the best players in the room and let the competition sort itself out.

Trent Brown and Cam Robinson have started every game they’ve been healthy in this league. If they aren’t healthy then they’ll be on IR and not counting on the roster anyway. I want NFL starting caliber players on this offensive line and these two guys are both NFL starting caliber players.

Brown is a very worthy starter if healthy. Very big if.

Robinson sucks when healthy, at least in recent times. I don’t think he is a starter on a decent line, but that’s just me.

I think Nick overpaid for Robinson, and underpaid for Brown…at least based purely on talent and recent results when healthy. Yes…the injury concerns are figured in…so all that said, I am never opposed to adding competition and letting it sort itself out. But I will be pleasantly happy if Robinson turns into a decent quality starter.

The advanced metrics for offensive line play need to be taken with a grain of salt. Yes Robinson allowed a high pressure number, but Vikings also had a long time to throw. So would a different system and/or QB lower that pressure number? I don’t care who is blocking, NFL DL will eventually get pressure if you don’t get rid of the ball fast enough.

And he was traded midseason and asked to start at LT and learn a new system with players/coaches he had no experience with… this wasn’t exactly a Kenyon Green he’s getting mugged every week situation.

I think it was exactly a Kenyon Green being mugged situation. If anything, going to a contender like the Vikes should have improved his play. We shall see. I am open minded at the end of the day…but if I was a betting man…I wouldn’t put all my chips in on “Quality Starter”.

If Stroud has a long time to throw, we could be in the Super bowl.

For those of you that are excited about the Cam Robinson signing, you might not want to read this.

Here is the catch to this. Is he a ZBS player or a gap player or a....? And what was the system running that he last played in?

Not saying that I am a huge fan either way with this deal. Just that some players don't play well because of the system and not the player per say.

4.69 40, not amazing. But, his other traits are very interesting. Some like Nick Bolton of KC. I would like to see him run some 1st team reps as a legit hybrid. He might weigh more now, but at 218 to 225-is I can see him doing some damage.

White plays a very similar role to Azeez here. His contribution is not mainly seen on the stat sheet, it’s getting the defense set up right pre-snap and putting guys in the best position to succeed. Sure tackler but issues in coverage.

I wonder in the case of both Kyzir and Azeez if the issues in coverage are mainly because so much is asked of them pre-snap that if anyone is out of position it’s them.

We kind of saw how this LB corps would look with two of this type of player on the field with Azeez and To’o To’o. Certainly serviceable but lacking in dynamic playmaking.

White is too good to be a backup which would mean healthy Harris takes a back seat. And I want healthy Harris on the field because he’s the only LB with all pro upside on this roster.
