Game Day: Texans vs Ravens - Divisional Playoff Round

A season to remember that's for sure. Yes, the schedule will be tougher next season, but so will we. You don't get to a Super Bowl if you can't beat top tier teams. We have a hell of a foundation in place.

yeah..but how’s that a problem..that’s how the position is meant to be played and won. You take LJ8’s legs away from him…or injury does it, that offense is pretty much dead in the water.

Pretty sure it doesn't matter how the position is supposed to be played, if you're successful at playing the position it doesn't matter how it's done. Result is the same, success

Sure, but the Bulls were never so dependent on Jordan’s 3-pt shooting to get them over the top..he was a complete player all around. LJ8’s legs are still his most valuable weapon. He’s not gonna beat u from the pocket…I feel confident in saying that.
They didn’t depend on Jordan’s threes because he did oyher things better. Same with Lamar Jackson, why would they not use his strengths prominently? And there is also the defense that just completely destroyed our offense. They played a pretty big part of this win also.

Sometimes it's on the players. Undisciplined with all the penalties and Stroud had one of his worst games of the year today.
Stroud didn't have a chance today, the shitty play calling put him behind the chains all game. Throwing to the flats, zero running game. Laramy ******* Tunsil, and a trick play called in scoring range that was more complicated and had more tosses than the play they called in the little Giants movie with Rick Moranis..

If someone still wants to hire Bobby Slowick, I don't feel bad about it anymore.

Yeah but that's how they play the position because they got that guy. Allen in Buffalo will run all over your butt if you let him. Hey if it has a ring and a lombardi at the end of the season I'll start a QB who wins any way he can.

Are we really surprised by a team that hasn't been in the playoffs in 4 years and how young our best players are?

I expect a team to not defeat themselves, no matter how long it's been. It's really been 10-11 years for the franchise since those teams were jokes.

We're an incredibly well-led team. The discipline and the details from the excellent coaching should reflect that. I expect and require it to be fixed for next year.

What game were you watching?
Ravens defense was smothering - we could not run the ball at all and that put way too much pressure on the passing game.

Singletary got the ball running what 10-12 times? Defensively they’re not special…they’re just a front running defense..kinda like Philly was last year. There were plays there to be made and due to false starts, & dropped passes drives just stalled. You expect to see that with young teams like us. More veteran teams I’m not so sure u get that.

You have been an excellent ambassador for your team.
I now hope Ravens win it all!
Not me, Im gonna be childish and stubborn.

You eliminate us... now I want you eliminated..

Cause BOO thats why.

I knew we should have all been cranking up the Taylor Swift energy and getting some favoritism from the refs... but... NOOOO.. I love my Texans... I just couldn't bring myself to listen to her.

I would do anything for love.... but I wont do that.

You're wrong bud, this is like saying take allen or mahomes legs away, it doesn't matter Lamar has shown he can get it done with his arm, his coordinator simply made adjustments in the second half

I’d agree with u if he was passing the ball downfield under pressure.. he wasn’t doing that in the 1st half. His coordinator made the adjustment for him to hit a check down when there was pressure shown. That doesn’t prove anything other than he can hit a check down.

furthermore, those guys use their legs as adjuncts to their arm. LJ8, it’s in reverse. And all it’ll take is for him to get injured or lose just a little of that elusiveness running for him and that offense to fall off.

Exactly. I liken this to when the Astros went to the postseason in 2015. They were kinda early but it was an invaluable experience and they missed in 2016 before becoming dominant for years. We've seen young players step up all year and need to remember. This is just the beginning. If you think Stroud looked incredible in 2023 wait until you see him in 2025 or so with a couple of years under his belt and an OL that can protect him and block for the RB. You see what Baltimore's line just did? We need THAT and nothing less. Doing anything short of going out and getting the best OL they can possibly assemble is a damn crime. When you have skill position players who can do what Stroud or Collins or Tank can and you waste it by not building the thing that makes all of that possible. That's BS. That's what happened to Andre Johnson here.

I hate the Ravens regardless of what happened today. I hope they get wrecked.

No one fears LJ8 in the pass game..his legs are what teams fear. Bottle that up and it’s over. It says a lot that his best season passing the ball is still mediocre by say Mahomes’ or other great qbs’ standards. Furthermore, it’s no guarantee that he’ll be able to finish the job. He still needs to get better as a passer or he will likely keep falling short.

They won this game mostly b/c we weren’t ready as a young team at the most important positions Playing a veteran laden team. They won’t have that advantage going forward and it’s going to be interesting seeing how they deal with that going forward.

Lamar Jackson will win the MVP award this year. Just imagine what awards he could win if he was a real quarterback!!!

I feel exactly opposite. This offensive line could not handle the Ravens DL period. Not on Slowick. Rather lose this game than lose him, there is work to be done, especially in the running game, better blocking, pass pro and eliminating these pesky false starts (6 false starts 1st half and several more 2nd half) in all 11 penalties total & 70 yards.

Thank you Texans!!!!!! This organization has restored the hope in it’s fan base for truly better seasons to come.

This team certainly had to rely on the, “Next Man Up” philosophy for the majority of the season…..and Caserio more than did his part in obtaining enough free agents to help give the Texans this unprecedented run.

I’m looking forward to watching how Caserio and Ryans put the next round of puzzle pieces together. GO TEXANS!!!!!

Shaq couldn’t shoot beyond two feet or make free throws, but he was still the most dominant player in the league once Hakeem retired.

blah blah blah shud up. Give some credit to the Ravens defense. The Slowick knee jerk take is pathetic.

The momentum stopping going into the half really hurt. That halftime came at the worst time. We were flying

But if you remember we weren't flying. We were flying right up to the red zone and then ended up not even getting 3 points out of that. I'd say not scoring anything there was what killed the momentum. That drive was going and it looked like to me that the Texans had finally gotten something figured out but then nothing. On the surface entering halftime tied 10-10 seemed like a victory of sorts but 3's instead of 7's and in that case nothing instead of even 3 just killed us.

Metchie sucks. Can’t get open, can’t block he’s a bust. Jordan can’t block. Stingley had a bad game. Greenard will be overpaid. Cashmen didn’t do squat today. Tunsil averages 3 fs per game. Slowik didn’t do squat.

We had a rookie QB, a rookie HC, a rookie OC, a DC that was last DC for the 17-18 Dolphins, a rookie leader on defense, almost all of our receivers were injured, a run game that is basically Singletary who, while playing well, is not someone that you can trust the game to and finally we were playing a team, at their home stadium, that is considered the best in the league right now. Did you guys really think we would win?

A rookie team had a rookie game and yeah it sucks it came in the playoffs but we were drafting at number 2 this time last year and this year we are AFCS champs again and made it through the wild card round when we were suppose to be drafting top 3 again only with Arizona having our draft pick. Seriously guys chill out, the future is the brightest it has been in a decade and this team is just getting started.

You may be entirely correct about all of that but until I see the Texans beat him I'm going to go ahead and hold my critique of him.
