Nico Collins is a legit WR 1

Why don't you just put that in your signature? We get it.

Meh.

I don’t see how “no excuses” can bother people no matter how many times he says it.

What’s bothering me is when his autocorrect changes “no” for “know”.

That’s infuriating.

No excuses.

Dont know how, I just dont want this to become another Derrick situation, where Stroud can do know wrong and if anything goes wrong it's on Ryans/Slowik etc...

Diggs, Jefferson played with Cousins which I consider very comparable to Stroud

No excuses

Comparing him to a QB that has missed 2 games as a starter over 8 years, averaged 30 TD's a season and made Diggs and Jefferson looks like studs. I'll take it.

I dont think that he's going to take a pounding behind the OL. They will run the ball a lot and only throw the ball about 30 times per game at most. They can run the offense like Kubiak did with Schaub and not allow Stroud to audible out of plays. In short dumb down the offense for Stroud. They need to play the QB that gives them the best chance to win. No excuses.

So Kubiak didn't allow Schaub to audible at the line of scrimmage because he wasn't smart?

A: Why did xyz happen?
B: It happened because abc
A: No excuses!
B: Then never ask why anything happened ever again

No what I mean?

You love you some mediocrity.

Control freak?

You understand Aggies better than I do, please explain?

No excuses!

As long as you have 1 or 2 guys who can beat coverage, it's not a necessity to have a #1. I view it as a collective. Nobody in their right mind would call Ayuk a #1, but he led the team in yards and catches. The #1 in KC is Kelce, the TE. If Nico is healthy and well, he serves a purpose. He can do what Iyuk in San Francisco. Schultz, if healthy , is probably the #1 player in passing game. Then as a collective, if they can run for 135 yds per game, that would give the wrs single safety looks.

Who can think of Smokey the bear while we are trying to deal with real issues here?!

Now pipe down... Mr Owl is about to tell me how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.
Ok but when I pipe down, stuff falls out of the pipe. That is frustrating trying to set fire to it on the way down. Forests are easier.

You love to conflate stats with post-season success.

What makes Jefferson a WR1? Led the league in yards and receptions. Offensive Player of the Year and finished Top 5 in MVP.

All that matters is that your team can get hot for 4 weeks in the playoffs. If you cant then you cant win championships.

None of it relates to that past anymore thankfully, but understand scaring it’s not easily forgotten. Regardless, Slowick will spread touches around, multiplicity. Be nice to create Metchie/Dell rub routes and keep defense from plugging running lanes. Nico sure looks like he will fill big play, X WR role.
We don't really have any idea how Slowick will handle the receivers. We can only hope that his approach is much more effective than his predecessors.

I am predicting Stroud averages 30 passes per game. Completing 18-20 of them on average.

I’d anticipate two players might average 4 catches per game (Nico/Schultz), two average 3 (Woods/Dell) and two players get around 2 (Pierce/Singletary). Then throw in 1-2 guys (Brown/Metchie/Hutchinson/Quitoriano/Beck) getting one catch or one of the above players getting an extra catch.

So around 18-20 receptions per game to go around.

I'm hoping for higher percentage than that after game one. Slowik should keep him at about 70 % completion IMO.
I also see much fewer passes season one, unless there is a ton of 3 yarders to TEs.

So your expectation for Stroud is that he show up and just immediately shatter the record for completion percentage by a rookie QB?

Going to look similar to how 49’ers use Deebo, Ayuik and Jennings. Nothing like Texan predecessors.
We know think that’s what Slowick is going to try to do, but what if he thinks he can do it better? Or just isn’t as good at communicating the concepts, or that once he gets punched in the teeth he doesn’t turtle up & try to implement what his dad always told him?

Who’s his dad? I don’t know, but that’s the point. Remember, BO’b tried to replicate the offense he ran (didn’t build) in New England.

20 for 30 is #4 all time. Keeping between 18 and 20 completions puts him between 60 and 66.67%. The elusive 70% record shattering completion percentage would be 21 completions. I could see him doing that for a handful of games. But not over a 17 game season. Because it’s never happened and I don’t project record breaking numbers.

I thought I was being a kool aid drinker with that projection!

Fun fact: Mills is #3 in NFL history with 66.8%!
