Exactly. Caserio and team putting in workYou have to admit, he has revamped the offense.
It now looks ready for a QB, although a solid C would complete the picture.
For now.
I'm thinking lost Akins, picked up Beck & SchultzThe Texans have added the Bills leading rusher last season and the Cowboys #2/3 options in the passing game. Along with the Titans #1 WR (ok I know this is silly)…
Lost Cooks and Akins but overall i’d say the skill positions have been improved.
And lets not forget last year’s second round pick John Metchie should be back.
I am an expat Aussie who loves football.
I have watched Rugby League, Rugby Union and Australian Rules football but my favorite is the American Gridiron - and specifically, the NFL.
I have followed the Texans since coming here back in '06 but each year my knowledge increases. I'm still behind a lot of the fans in here but I have a pretty good grasp of the game now, and in particular, my beloved Texans.
I might be a bit of a homer here, but I feel very good about our team - even as it stands right now. I reckon we could have a real squad in the making here.
It starts in the trenches, and even though our DLine needs some talent upgrading in the pass rush department, I think our leadership has the correct vision for success moving forward.
I predict a big turnaround for this team in the upcoming season.
Think about it - what other team has made such a substantial upgrade to their entire team as the Texans have this off-season? I think the draft is going to be the litmus test - other than an onfield performance obviously, but this is a HUGE turnaround for our team.
So, I guess I am trying to justify getting excited about another season. Still, even the most pessimistic Texans fan must have an inkling that this new team might have some potential.
I do.
Sub LB should be Littleton, right?
It’s the same. Not better or worseSo, taking into consideration where we are in free agency and our new coaching staff, are the Texans an improved team (so far) in 2023? Yes, I know the draft isn't until next month, but still, can the assembled players and coaches we have right now win more than three games?
Yes, I know we only have Case and Mills at QB. But, is that better or worse than last year?
It’s the same. Not better or worse
Misread the comment. Lol I thought he was talking about the quarterback position. The rookies are 1 year older/wiser and there are upgrades at multiple positions. Only downgrade you can argue is WR 1 which is offset by added depth at WR (and still draft). Also edge rusher with Ogbo leaving, but again, still have the draft.
Where were the significant losses to offset the improvements made?
I will argue that Case is an improvement over Driskell/AllenIt’s the same. Not better or worse
I remember a couple of his games were real battles that we only just lost.I will argue that Case is an improvement over Driskell/Allen
I think he added more true starters to the roster. Last year it was more 2nd tier, or hopeful to step up.Well, to answer my own question, I think the team as it sits right now is in better shape than last year's team. There is no doubt in my mind that DeMeco, with only the current set of players to field, could win more than three games with this bunch.
So after the draft, you can (hopefully) add a few more wins with the (hopefully) great choices they make.

Yeah last year our free agency sucked.I think he added more true starters to the roster. Last year it was more 2nd tier, or hopeful to step up.
& the 10th would be a tie if Lovie had any sayI think this year's roster/coach would beat last year's roster/coach 9 out of 10 games. Regardless of who ends up starting at QB

This is a solid lineup. Edge rusher number one need on defense. Cannot have Hughes getting starters reps at this point in his career. Would be best as third DE in rotation. And cannot depend on Greenard staying healthy. If he is healthy he’s solid, but need to add one to two more. Ideally a designated pass rusher to take Ogbo’s role and a blue chipper to be the Bosa.
Does anyone know how season ticket sales are doing after all of the new changes?
I share your excitement, man! Coming from someone who’s been around here a long time, but have so disappointed and frankly disinterested in them lately, that the last two drafts, I didn’t even pay attention to it at all, and hardly watched any of the games, and frankly didn’t give a damn if they won or not. The O’Brien/Easterby thing, the Hopkins trade, and the thing with Watson just turned me off.
But then they hired DeMeco. I remember the day they drafted him, and watched him as a player. For me, it’s not so much what they do playerwise this off-season, it’s more about the energy he’s going to generate. It’s more about how excited the players themselves are about him being here. That is what I’m excited about, and looking forward to seeing it play out.
Still no waiting list to buy them, so I think a lot of fans are still in wait and see mode.
Well said, man. I feel the same way! DeMeco as HC is exciting. After watching all of his interviews and press conferences, it really made me look forward to the future.

I hope they can win plenty of games over the next few seasons so DR doesn't become jaded.Still no waiting list to buy them, so I think a lot of fans are still in wait and see mode.

Who do you like out of this crop of QBs cc?Don't know how accurate Mock draft sites are. Doubt they are. But that being said.
I have consistently been able to draft Anderson1.2, T Wilson (occasionally Carter) 1.12 and Ojulari.2.33.
Sounds far fetched on Carter being there at 1.12, but it happens.
This is assuming Carolina picks a QB. Probably could make trade with Ariz 2 for 3+ but didn't.
Done without trades and not wasting 1.2 on a QB..
I get my future all pro QB at 6.179.
Just woke up.Doubt any of it actually transpires.

PHOENIX — John Lynch likes Trey Lance on the roster, but the 49ers general manager did not completely rule out trading the quarterback if an attractive offer were to be presented.
“We like Trey on our team right now,” Lynch told local Bay Area media while at the NFL Annual Meeting. “We always joke, [coach] Kyle [Shanahan] and I, we’d trade each other if someone gave us a good enough deal. So we listen to everything, but we like Trey on our team and we are very excited about the way he is progressing about his opportunity.

Trey Lance trade not completely ruled out by 49ers GM John Lynch
John Lynch and the 49ers will "listen to everything" if an attractive Trey Lance trade offer arose.sports.yahoo.com
Wonder how much attention if any DeMeco and his x-49er OC are paying to this kind of talk ?
Who do you like out of this crop of QBs cc?
I dunno could it be that they like Purdy that much ?Hopefully none. Why would Ryans want Lance if the 49'ers, who have a need for a QB1, aren't prepared to keep him?
Will Purdy be ready for camp? Highly doubt it. They’re not getting rid of Lance.I dunno could it be that they like Purdy that much ?
That's probably why Trey & Darnold will be splitting 1st team reps, because they're in love with PurdyI dunno could it be that they like Purdy that much ?
Purdy's injury has nothing to do with it?That's probably why Trey & Darnold will be splitting 1st team reps, because they're in love with Purdy
