Do you know what extensive investigation means? It means talking to both sides. It’s still a matter that falls under the personal conduct policy.
Extensive is in the eyes of the buyer. They didn't have to interview any people Buzzbee had. If the grand jury came back with nothing. So whats left to inverstigate?

Ryan doesn't have a ntc
There have been conflicting reports regard this, but you are probably correct.

The Colts are making have successfully landed a franchise quarterback.

Matt Ryan will leave the Falcons — who he has played for since his NFL career began 14 seasons ago — for Indianapolis.

Earlier this offseason, the Colts traded Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. Since then, the Colts had been pursuing Ryan though discussions reportedly were kept quiet just in case the deal fell through, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

In addition, Russini reports that Ryan does not have a no-trade clause and had the option of “refusing to go.”

Nobody speaks up on teams weaponizing the franchise tag, but now the ntc is a problem?

For fans that like to not have players pull the crap Derrick pulled, you better believe it's important. (Not to me in the Derrick case because I wanted him gone before he even requested a trade.) Also ownership is going to be upset that the market has been reset by a Sexual Predator with a suspension hanging over him. It's not a good look for the NFL and there's going to be retribution. IMHO

So what happened when Big Ben and his rape charge and still got paid? What happened when Leonard and Stallworth ran over people and killed them while being drunk? Vick serve time for dog fighting, came back and signed for 100m and the nfl did what? Again, these are accusations, nothing proven and the nfl has jumped the gun before and paid the price. The NFL is about winning at all cost with whomever you can get to do that. You know it based on the history from steroid use of the 70s steelers, the cocaine use in the 80s, LT and his foolishness,etc.. You think NE didn't know about some of the bs from Hernandez? I see people posting about the 1m salary to aid in the possible suspension, but I've never seen anyone post about the same tool used by NE when Brady was suspended. It seems as if its one way viewership on these issues.

This is what our dear ole Aaron Wilson just posted..............I'm especially excited about our 2022 "further rounder"!!!!!!! :chef:

Deshaun Watson-to-Browns deal reveals ugly NFL truth
By Steve Serby

Imagine if you are a long-suffering Browns fan. Imagine if you are a woman. Or someone who respects women.
Can you in good conscience root for the Browns now?

Or imagine if you are simply an NFL fan. Most of us are. It is, after all, our national pastime.
Can you in good conscience root for Deshaun Watson?

How can you not, at the very least, be conflicted?

When Vince Lombardi repeated those immortal words — “winning isn’t everything, but it’s the only thing” — he couldn’t possibly have imagined an NFL in which morality takes a holiday and he-said is valued more than she-said … at all costs.

Because as always, if you can play, you do not have to pay.

Oh yes, Roger Goodell and company will surely move to save some face when he imposes a politically correct, six-game suspension — which will amount to pocket change lost for Watson — intended to show what amounts to the league’s zero-tolerance policy on the new face of the franchise in Cleveland as per the personal conduct policy.

Alas, there is no zero-tolerance policy for a 26-year-old zero who might be great enough to lead a franchise to its first Super Bowl championship.

Watson emerging from the shady, disturbing 22 civil and nine criminal and sexual assault and harassment accusations from his assortment of aggrieved massage therapists with the largest contract in NFL history? A five-year, fully-guaranteed $230 million reward?

As they would say on Nickelodeon: Slime pays.

Of course Watson is free to earn a living again following a year as a football leper. That isn’t the issue. The issue is his historic reward after a grand jury decided that the evidence was insufficient for a criminal trial. Which does not fall into the he’s-innocent-until-proven-guilty arena.

This could make the division a bit more complicated to win

Browns fans aren’t happy with the revised terms.

Browns fans really aren't going to be happy if Derrick is suspended for yr, then they give Garrett his big contract and have to start letting guys like Cooper/Chubb/Ward go because Derrick will be taking up too much of the cap in a couple of yrs after not playing this yr. Factory of Sadness.

@Texian have you updated the value of this trade?

Also, before someone even says it, not indicted does not mean not guilty, especially when all of the women who were subpoenaed didn’t get a chance to testify. This is now a personal conduct issue, 22 allegations in which he cannot account for his actions as he states he cannot remember the masseuses. That is not acceptable and brings more bad publicity to the league. That’s also not someone you give 230 million guaranteed to.

Yeah you are going to have QBs who point to this and say “that guy had 22 lawsuits, I stay out of trouble now I want My guaranteed money.” Owners must be pissed. Also, Watson will face resentment amongst players.

It will be easy for the defense to get hyped up to play against Watson.

All they have to do is think that guy assaulted someone like their mom, sister, daughter, grandma…

Closer to the truth picturing Watson doing that than someone like Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, or Trubisky.

Plus - Watson is taking money from other players with his fat contract.

Can I give the pre-game warm up speech?
