You could get an idea which LT's might be available in the 2023 draft by using Google. I'm all for building the best OL's possible with the least amount of risk possible. That's why I'm on the Keep Tunsil (If he wants to play on Kirby next yr.) draft Neal (Or preferably Walker 1-3 and Green 2-37) and Salyer or Strange in the 3rd. This would solve the run game/pass pro issues. Signing a middling vet like Witherspoon would be OK if it was for far less money than you're talking about.
Lol when did you start using Google. Give me a defensive beast up front. Defense defense :corrosion:

If they're going to trade Tunsil, I want Neal. Of course I think Neal is the best player in this draft. Really Neal/Walker are 1. A 1.B to me both are star level players. The kinds of guys that need to be drafted during this rebuild. BTW, Did you notice that while he didn't sack Young Walker did put pressure on him going up against Neal late in the game. It was very interesting watching these 2 studs go at it. Walker has a stab move that knocked Neal back on his heels. 1st time I saw anybody be able to do that to Neal. I will be very happy with either of these guys.

Let me get this straight. WHO reported that the Eagles were hiring attorneys to look into the DW case? Some pundit? Perhaps the same one that hasn’t seen any of these other trades going down? So the Eagles are saying hey let’s let everyone know we are interested in a trade for DW so we can get into a bidding war. Funny, I thought that is supposed to work the other way. Shouldn’t the Texans be the ones trying to run his price up? How were these other clubs that TRULY wanted to get their QB able to do so under the radar? Because those other QB’s didnt have lawsuits hanging over them. Maybe trading DW at this point is completely off the shelf and is a dead issue for now, speculation be damned. What other explanation can harmonize these details?

I know even you can't believe that Washingtonfor so many reasons wasn't simply saying no to entertaining a trade for Watson.
What are you talking about Willis? What better place for him to go than a city full of corrupt crooked lying cronies, void of any ethics and morality?

The word on the street is Washington was shopping with everyone, had made a better offer than Seattle but Wilson invoked his NTC. No to much of a stretch to think Texans got a phone call too.

You should refresh your memory as since 2008 except for 2017 and 2018 we've had very good left tackles.

You should be a little bit more detailed with your thoughts as in what left tackles could be available in the draft in 2023 that we could select? You don't know? Correct no one does.
What teams in 2023 will be looking for a left tackle like Tunsil and can afford him? There are only two in my opinion this year. Dolphins and Bengals.

I am not against keeping Tunsil but there 3 possible options for the future in draft Neal, Cross and Ekwonu. 4th option going with Howard. Negatives exist for each.

You seem to be focusing only on LT not team roster. Risks with rookies and Howard but also with Tunsil. I can accept a bit more risk if I get a late round one and a two and
$9.5 m savings to bring in a vet FA like Ahkello Witherspoon at corner and or another position.

We don't know about Cross, Neal or Ekwonu either. We know nothing about 2023. We know nothing about 2022. Only speculation. We do know about Tunsil.

I'm not focusing on LT, we have one and I see no reason to possibly create a problem there. I been pounding the table for Hamilton.

I'm more focused on acquiring the best players available. Starting with S, ass kicking Edge / DT and LB, player types we don't currently have on the roster.

Many here prefer we start the re-build by acquiring O-linemen, no problem with that. But LT isn't a problem.

We can draft bpa every round and it most likely will be an area of need. Gonna take time.

Enjoy/appreciate your mocks and input.

Who was the on field leaders on that team? Not talking coaches? Point is there was no leadership during that collapse. Leadership should've come from BOB/Derrick/Watt. It didn't, but CnD's point about Derrick's body language is correct. Compare and contrast that to Mahomes body language after the Chiefs got down 24-0.
Where was Mahomes rallying the troops vs Tampa Bay? Again, I'm not picking on you,but the worse thing you can do with grown men is be a phony. If that's not your style, you can't make it your style. Against the Bills the previous week, did we see some grand rallying towel or pep talk on the sideline? Nope, but every player who has ever played with Watson loves playing along side him. Never seen Eli with a sideline rally. Rodgers nor Ben either and they've all won superbowls.

Lol so you stalking my posts now?

Anyone who knows anything about the game knows Wentz is trash and its just a matter of time...a very short time that Washington will be back in the market for a qb..that is unless they take 1 in this upcoming draft. See unlike you, every post i make and my life in general isn't consumed with what happens with DW4.

Clearly, you're upset that this kid will eventually get his chance to move on from all this & play a game for millions of dollars again. You should seriously seek some professional help

He's not the only one. Posters act like Commanders were a real destination. Why would Washington trade for a guy under the premise of what he's accused of when they're under investigation for something just as worse.

We’re reading the tea leaves. I think it’s a minority that wants to trade him. Most in the conversation thinks it’s going to happen.

Maybe soon.

I agree. Even if we trade Tunsil I think we’ll be good with Howard at LT, especially with an improved run game (Guards/RB)

The problem may already be there. Dude was expected to miss just 4 weeks, 6 at most, with his thumb issue, and it ended up being 12 weeks. That raises red flags to me. Just my opinion, of course, but I think he wants outta here.
Also a possibility the Texans will have to carry Watson’s cap figure & sign their rookie class & fill out a 90 man roster

C'mon man!!!! Are you saying Watson never handled Texans fans booing after a bad game? If I remember right, Watson could put a bad game behind him with the best of them, then focus on the next game. Philly fans would be plenty happy to have Watson as their QB1....once he's ready to play.

Again, no one knows for sure what's going to transpire in the upcoming weeks but at some point and time Watson will see an NFL football field....just depends on if the Texans still holds his rights or if he's an UFA looking for a new team.

The Texans fans didn't pelt him with batteries inside snowballs. Ask the Cowboys what that feels like. Only due to them being the closest team to us.

I don't know who this "Willis" you are equating me to.........but I'm sure it was meant to be demeaning. Thank you!

Wilson was not looking at 22 civil lawsuits and a Grand Jury. And I can tell you from good inside source...........Washington made no attempt to communicate with the Texans for a Watson trade.

No not everything is demeaning, sometimes humor is involved. Thanks for the inside info. Lighten up Francis.

I don't know why Texans fans, who want Watson gone would root for potential trade partners dropping out but there are more than just a few that seem to be feeling that way. Trading your star quarterback doesn't care about your feelings. I think Watson is, at the very least a creepy guy (allegedly) but I want a best-case scenario for the Texans...and that would be a bidding war for Watson.

Some things are more important than football. If found guilty, I want him to do as much time as possible. If innocent I want him out of town and will take as many 1st Rd picks as fingers he likes stuck up his s azz. 2-3?

I heard at least one other team offered more, but RW exercised his NTC
Yeah we heard but we don’t know how true that is. Just like Coach said they weren’t trading him and Wilson stating he doesn’t want to be traded. But if they would’ve put out there he’s available. Don’t you think at least 5 teams would’ve put in a bid?

Thanks for discussion! I don't want to get rid of him either as long as he wants to be here and he is worth more than what we can get for him.

Lets not forget that the defense & special teams was responsible for more points than the offense .... 17-14.
Good point. There are so many things that was going on during that 51-7 run. The Deandre Carter fumble on the KOR when the Texans were up 24-14 and gave the Chiefs the ball inside the 20. On a 3rd down and goal, I saw 4 defenders around Kelcie and not one of them got in a passing lane while chasing Mahomes.

My point is there were so many things that went into losing that game, crowing about leadership and body language is looking for a scapegoat when the coaching, offense, defense and special teams all contributed to the loss.

A total team meltdown. Amazing how a certain few only focus is on Watson play. Lets not forget the terrible conservative play calling.

To be fair, snowballs are not available at NRG. Remember when Texans fans cheered when Matt Schaub got injured and it led to Johnson, Foster, Watt, Brown, Jackson and Cushing calling them, barbaric, classless, tactless, tasteless, and plain f**ked up? If available, I bet some would have thrown snowballs.

A bidding war is not going to happen until this his crap is settled. But those women are more important than him or this team. What happened to morals, standards and principles?

Has anyone tried to make a point that those women aren't important?

I don't think I've seen anyone post anything like that.

"Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman previously conducted significant due diligence on Watson before last season. The Eagles even sent an investigator to Houston to look into the legal situation and contact Rusty Hardin, Watson’s attorney, per sources. However, Watson has never been inclined to waive his no-trade clause for the Eagles. Moreover, Philadelphia has publicly committed to Jalen Hurts as their quarterback." [Pro Football Network]

Carolina is sending an investigator to Houston, per 610.
