Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Based on the current QB situation, Texans best move might be to inform Watson he’s starting WK1.

One, this could force Goodell into action by putting Watson on CEL. Or, Goodell could let this play out.

Watson could fein injury which would allow the Texans to IR him. This keeps him with the team and free’s up a roster spot in the process.

Watson could flat out refuse to suit up which gives the Texans an action to suspend him without pay.

In all reality, the Texans best move…suit his arse up and make him play until there’s a resolution or Goodell steps in.

After watching Tyrod and Miller last night, Watson could come in with rust and still be better than them. lol

My thoughts exactly.

This would be the best case of action verses forcing a rookie to start knowing he’s clearly not ready yet.

But if the Texans attempt to start Watson it’s a chance the commish will drop the suspension hammer on him. So we will have to make do with Taylor starting for at least 6 games.

The 1st person to approach Watson for money.......$30,000...........happened in mid January........before Watson's request for trade on Jan 28.
The important point in this is Watson was directly told by one of his referring women (that were providing him with new girl after new girl) that one of the massage therapist victims had hired a lawyer and was filing a lawsuit at the end of December 2020. It was crystal clear then, yet he continued the assaults.

There was no question he knew it would eventually all come tumbling down. His bad behavior was a topic of conversation among massage therapists here back in 2018. There's a lot of women out there who haven't and won't come forward. They're the smart ones, because nothing is worth the compounded hell the others will have to endure. Men have been getting away with sexual assault for many decades because their victims are counseled by other rape victims who went through the prosecutions that it was not worth it. One circumstance that will put many more rapists at risk for prison time is the ever increasing number of cameras most everywhere in society these days. So when those three thugs drag her into a back alley and are bending her over a garbage can... there are cameras watching.

Again, not about Watson.....only better establishes the type of business some or all the women may have been running behind the guise of masseuse. But you're right in one regard, that wouldn't give Watson the right to do as he pleases even if a prostitute were to ask him to stop. What it would offer, Hardin another path in his questioning.

Really it wouldn't. Seeing nomatter what they do, if they said no...he still only has the ability to try to prove Watson indeed stopped. Which is not the case as we have been told.

Doc, do you think more may come forward? I knew that many more are around but never came forward. As well as many people warning Watson including his own PR team

Also, he’s already lost more than 30k, and is going to end up paying Rusty quite a bit of money himself. Just ironic.

The Texans may forever regret passing on/ignoring some of the early, Pre-lawsuit offers they had for DW. I don’t know that they ever recoup original value given the direction of this legal situation. If criminal charges are ever filed, no matter how they are ultimately adjudicated, that surely will be the case.

And now the franchise brand will be tied to this entire legal situation for at least the next year-plus.

The NFL may have canceled any trade that would have gone through once charges were filed.

One thing the Texans didn’t want was an investigation on when they knew what. And if a tram got the raw end of the deal that tram could have petitioned the NFL to investigate and cancel the trade.

Who knows if f the NFL would have fined and penalized the Texans for trying to trade Watson when they knew of the charges? Would not have been pretty.

and you know the thing about that? Already had two people fired. The equipment manager and Amy Palcic.

What are you referring to?
One of the lawsuits alleges Watson used a massage table from the Texans in one of his encounters. In one of his text messages he mentions he has found a massage table from “his team”. The equipment manager of nearly 20 years was fired.

Amy Palcic in the front office, also fired. No real explanation given.

Don't forget to add Jamey Rootes leaving without any explanation and the firing of C.J. Leak (assistant director of pro personnel), Ryan Cavanaugh (area scout), and Steven Price (pro scout) who were all fired with no real explanation given. :kitten:

Not a cultural fit according to the guy responsible for the org culture... At least in the case of Amy Palcic.

I would have done that from the start of camp. Told him he was starting, put him in with the 1's, and forced him to do something, either stop showing up or faking an injury. If he stops showing up, he gets fines and you suspend him. He fakes an injury, it at least opens that roster spot and you can file a grievance to not have to pay him. Or, it forces the commish to put him on the CEL, which doesn't really seem to be an option at this point.

I just don't get why the Texans are doing it like they are.

Teams can agree in principle to trades ahead of the commencing of the new League year, although the deals cannot officially go through until the league year begins (March 17th in 2021). Under the circumstances that already existed by March 17th, League approval would not have been given.

I don't know if they can "make him" play well. They can stick him in as a starting QB and every 1st down he tosses an INT. Do they have the ability to say he is not doing it? No, he would be on a bench just like they have his rear right now

It's called cleaning house after a regime change and frankly the housecleaning was well overdue. I just wish Easterby had been cut loose so there would've been a full housecleaning.

Why not, a 3rd string QB never hurts
If we sign another, at this time, I'd think it would be for the number 2 spot, dropping Mills to 3 and Watson to 4. But I don't think we need another QB now. If Taylor gets injured, we can sign a veteran off the street, or out of the deer blind, at that time.

Watson has been adamant about not playing another down for the Texans, so I doubt he would suit up, get in a game, and do as you say, play poorly, to get benched. My point was to force his hand. If he's insistent on not playing, then he'd have to either stop showing up which would incur fines and suspension, or fake an injury, which could lead to grievances filed. This bullshit game they've decided to play with him is just that, bullshit.

On top of that, he wants out but gets to handcuff the Texans by choosing where he wants to go too? Fuck him.

I almost don't care about compensation anymore. Let this dude's career rot right here in Houston.
