Texans random thought of the day

Nick Caserio is showing his hand and it is obvious he knows what he is doing.
I am very much looking forward to not only the rest of this free agency period, but also the draft.

I like that they aren't signing big names or long term contracts.

We aren't in a position to push for contention so we need to be keeping things flexible until the Watson situation is resolved and we have more young pieces ready to coalesce into a core.

Does the Texans free agent activity mean they now can’t afford to trade Watson this off-season. Is this a strong play by the front office to remove the option Watson is trying to force?

If Watson does anything other than play, he has a lot of money the Texans could pursue him for legally, so he will have to play if Texans still hold his rights.

Pre June 1, trading Watson has a dead $ hit of 21.6MM. Trading him after June 1, there's a 5.4MM dead $ hit (16MM difference). This and not leaving enough cap space for a pre june 1 trade with all the recent signings point to not moving him until after the draft when they shouldn't have a problem clearing the 5.4MM to make room for a trade (or not trading him at all).

They would have no trouble clearing cap space before the draft. Also I do not want to lose any draft picks or veterans that I could get now.

It was posted somewhere that a team could draft players Houston wants then trade after June 1.

Somebody please tell Nick, just because there are still checks in the book don't mean we're loaded with cash.
No kidding right?? NC must have a plan......I mean I'm not entirely sure what that plan is but he'll need to bust out the AE Black Card here pretty soon

20 years later and it's come full circle. We will be an expansion team again lol

Our original expansion team could beat that bunch we trotted out there last year. Including coaching staff.

Next years team, and we don't know yet who they are, would beat last years team. With or without Watson

My theory and I'm sticking to it.

Greg Grissom promoted to President of Texans operations.
Good move - served under Jamie Rootes and is familiar with the FO proceedures and contacts with other franchises.

"Having sex" has no gray area......it was either consensual or it was against their wishes, which makes it criminal rape. Has anyone mentioned physical evidence if rape is being alleged?
No gray area? There's the case of the coed who went to a party with a date,, which ended in "consensual" sex. The next norning she regretted the previous night's activities but took responsibility, saying she had consented. However, her dormmates kept pestering her, claiming because alcohol had been consumed, she was incapable of giving consent. After a week or so of this, she gave in to their demands, and filed rape charges again her date.

Clearly a case of consensual not being consensual.

What was the final verdict? I think I heard about this.

No evidence yet.

But what we do have is him admitting to an unlawful act in paying for sex , consensual or not that's illegal .... that'll get him a suspension.

I don't think he admitted to paying for sex. He admitted to consensual sex with some of the women.

I believe in any kind of court room situation it will come out, or be understood.

This is what happens when the owner lets the guy who thought Brock Osweiler a franchise QB get a second bite at the apple. Texans fans will never be able to escape knowing it could have been Mahomes.

I’m sure we’ve all been over this before a couple of hundred dozen times, but who’s to say Mahomes would have become what he has if he’d been in OB’s shitshow? Mahomes wouldn’t have had the luxury of sitting out his rookie year, and he would have been destroyed behind this o-line.

Speaking strictly football, Watson was probably the better choice in this system and on this team. Unfortunate that non-football stuff has destroyed that.
