Texans random thought of the day

Just saw a report that they found him dead.
Yeah. I also just found out he was shot in December and hit in the sternum and allegedly stated it impacted his lung. I have seen nothing that connects that incident with his death nor was there further explanation of that December incident.

Remember when all the

smart Texans media were crowing that O'Brien should have signed Trent Brown to be highest paid OT in the league?

Yeah, not so much anymore. Brown has played in only half of Raiders games in the two years since, now they're looking to unload him.

The Seattle Seahawks have hired two former Texans assistant coaches: Carl Smith and his son, Tracy Smith.

Carl Smith, with the Texans for the past two seasons, was named associate head coach. Smith is a former Seahawks quarterbacks coach and associate head coach who has a strong relationship with quarterback Russell Wilson, who's been the subject of trade rumors this offseason.

Take a peek behind the curtain.
'Building the Texans' debuts today, and it's giving a glimpse at behind-the-scenes work going on to prepare for the 2021 NFL regular season. Being six months away from kickoff, the first episode takes viewers to places like the plane with Nick Caserio and family as they arrived in Houston, in the contract signing with new head coach David Culley and beyond.
In an exclusive interview, Caserio described what the head coach interview process entailed. Culley, meanwhile, shared his thoughts on team-building and what needs to happen organizationally for the Texans to be a success.
Houston Texans Chairman and CEO Cal McNair and his wife Hannah make appearances in the video, and there are fun exchanges between them, Culley, and Culley's wife Carolyn.
More episodes are coming throughout the rest of the offseason, and they can be seen on HoustonTexans.com, the Houston Texans mobile app and the Houston Texans YouTube channel.

Cowboys franchise tag Dak Prescott
Posted by Myles Simmons on March 9, 2021, 5:15 PM EST

The Cowboys have already locked up Dak Prescott with a four-year, $160 million extension. But the club has exercised a procedural move to protect Prescott in the future.

Dallas has franchise tagged Prescott for a second consecutive year, which is exactly what the quarterback and his agent Todd France wanted. It is the exclusive tag, which would mean no other team could negotiate with Prescott — were he on the open market.

While Prescott’s contract is expected to have a no-tag clause, Dallas tagging the QB in 2021 means a subsequent tag would be Prescott’s third. And a third tag would require a 44-percent increase from the cap number in the final year of his deal.

Prescott also has two years in his contract that void the day before the start of the 2025 league year, which is after the franchise-tag deadline. So even if the Cowboys wanted to tag Prescott that year, it would be too late.

All this is to say, France has negotiated a deal for Prescott that has made it very difficult for Dallas to ever franchise tag the quarterback again.

Has not had a bad snap in 11 years, longest tenured Texan ever. A bargain player. Now they are just getting rid of anyone connected to O'Brien, regardless of talent or value of position. I am starting to dislike the moves they are making.
