That's exactly what I think is gonna happen except they hire Daboll. Since they haven't been fired yet, I think most of the O'Brien staff will probably stick around. Then they'll hire a HC and make him work with the current staff.

A lot like the way Cowboys hire head coaches but they don't let them hire their own staff. (I really hope I'm wrong.)
On a recent radio interview I think Crennel said all of the coaches contract expire January 12th. He said he thought his expired on the 15th.

Bosa's just as possible as any of the other trades hypotheticals that have been mentioned for days including my own. You just don't like it.

You just don't pay attention. Even though I'd prefer it not happen I've posted more than one DW trade hypothetical. Because it's the talk of the town and when kept in the restraints of just spitballing it can be fun. Not trying to pass of mine, or any, bs idea as actual news.

The question here was what an actual 'rumbling' is versus trying to create mock hype. A rumbling would be inside talks leaking to whatever degree about legitimate possibilities. What was posted was 100% not that. It was 100% pure hypothetical bar talk.

And if we're gonna speculate any further about what I like or don't like concerning actual newsworthy 'rumblings' - ala what's gone on with Urban Meyer all along or Saleh in the last few days - let's keep it narrowed to plausible sh*t, deal?

You just can't stand it when not everybody agrees with your point of view. It doesn't hurt if anybody post something hypothetical or not. If you don't like it just ignore it.

I don't care if anyone brings up hypotheticals, if they're kept within that realm.

PAY ATTENTION.

I care if they try and presume it to be legit newsworthy talk.

You clearly don't have any clue what I can or can't stand and it seems a bit preposterous for you to try and assume so.

The post, not the poster. You've been here too long to have to be reminded of this.

Again just because you think it's not newsworthy talk does not make it so. Your frequent post make it very clear to everyone what you like and don't like. Nothing wrong with that except you don't allow anybody else to disagree with you.

Many of us enjoy talking about players that could come here. A poster mentioned Quennin Williams. Is that probable? No but it is possible and we want to talk about it. You do not get to dictate what is newsworthy. If a moderator decides that a suggested name should not be included They will remove it.

Corrosion, TK and Double Darryl have commented in threads about trades and Evidently have not seen fit to remove any of these including the one on Nick Bosa.

No, because it's illegitimate hypothetical banter.. like I've said repeatedly.

And I've learned plenty from people on these boards like I've also stated before. I've been completely wrong several times.

The point was.. let's see if you can keep up now.. about considering something an actual insider factual newsworthy 'rumbling' - ala Saleh or Meyer, like I again have repeated again and again - versus just blatant hypothetical conjecture and what if's and claiming one is the other. This isn't difficult. And that's completely irrespective of what I'd prefer or not.

Now maybe we'll see if you can actually respond to anything I've actually had to make any points of other than ad hominem.

Trade off a top 5 qb entering his prime just to see him win a super bowl and leave us complaining about the next guy? Yeah no thanks. Trading watson would be the biggest mistake. Nrg would probably be burning the next day. You trade everyone but him to improve the roster. He’s our big ticket, the key to open any lock, and sure we can get 2 or 3 first rounders maybe but I feel more comfortable already knowing deshaun can lead us to the sb multiple times with the right pieces in place. He’s a generational talent and equivalent to a lebron James in basketball haha you don’t do that man. Crazy talk

I typically dont side with players when they signed a contract recently with a team they are apparently so unhappy with.....

But I cant stand Easterbaby either so... Im pretty torn.

I hate the idea of trading Watson, but IF "we must" at least we will see if NC on his own is on par with OB, getting a 7th and a peanutbutter cookie for Watson like OB would..... or do we Dolphins someone.

Question should be, "Can the Texans do the right thing"? The right thing is to allow Deshaun Watson, along with JJ Watt to have a bigger role in management decisions. Fire Easterby, don't replace him immediately, let Cassero hammer it out with his star Offensive and Defensive Captains in regards to the next head coach. Cassero should be the bridge to Cal MacNair, keeping him advised, informed and part of the discussion as well. There is no need for Easterby to be in the building on Kirby street. This is Watson's team, let him have a bigger role off the field and JJ has earned his place as the all time greatest Texan, who knows a thing or two on the defensive side.

So will "Texans do the RIGHT THING"?

Whoa... I don’t believe that is the right thing at all. Far from it.

Let Caserio do his job. If that means Easterby stays, Easterby stays. In whatever capacity Caserio wants him in.

We don’t need to expand the board room to include players.

I'm old school, I believe the Owner should be and do what an owner does. The GM should do what the GM does. The HC does what a HC does and players do what players are suppose to do.

This is the McNair's team. I didn't know DW4 put up 700 mil to buy the team. The McNair's have been following your philosophy and holding onto players for to long. Letting them have far to much say such as not trading for picks at the deadline and it's gotten them to where they are today. 4-12.

The fact Cal said that Easterby is not going anywhere tells you has the biggest ego in the room and that ain't good for DW4.

Let me know if I get this straight. Dude gets like a 900% raise, cries about not being involved enough in the hiring of one of his bosses, refuses to communicate with the organization, and now he's ranting again? Wonder how my boss, or anyone's here boss would react.

Depends on if you're the one person in the organization that makes things run. Which, currently, Watson is. You can ask for whatever you want, and then the company has to make the decision on if it's worth it.

I think if Watson is less than happy here, he should be traded. I voted Yes, compensation dependant.

if he, and JJ too, are tired of the McNair's bumbling, Caserio should be on the phones now seeing what the mkt is like. Now, they (the head shed) should talk to them (the whole team actually) and see if they're "all in" or not. If they aren't all in on the new GM, cut 'em loose. Its just good business, employees work harder when they're "all in" and not just collecting a check

I just want this to be over. Trading Watson is not good for the organization. Or the fans of the team. Might be good for Watson.

Bring in a new QB and additional future players? So they can be alienated in a few years? Fix the problem. Which is that this is a dysfunctional organization. Trading Watson solves nothing for this franchise.

Treating a real life job to a NFL player's job does not equate. If it were the situation of anyone here, we could just go find another job.

Watson's job is a NFL QB. He doesn't care for the branch he works for, and would like a transfer. If we were a very valuable member of the company, we could probably work that transfer.

I hope that they do go ahead and trade Deshaun and lose JJ so I can finally just be completely done with this worthless franchise.
I primarily watch the Texans games out of idle curiosity these last couple years anyway. I don't get anxious when I miss a game like I used to. I'm not motivated anymore on Sunday morning to get my chores done before noon so I don't miss kickoff. Trading Watson will just decrease my interest a little more. I figure Watt is as good as gone, anyway.

I was a diehard oilers fan and that carried over to the Texans. I used to study the draft so deep i knew every name till about the 6th round. I recorded every game and regularly re-watched them 2-3 times deciphering defenses and reads our qb missed.

After nearly 20 years of being swindled though, I find i care a whole helleva lot less. Obviously, I'm here posting so I still root for the team ,but when they do something stupid I'm no longer surprised. It's expected.

Im apathetic so I can relate to your post.

Usually after about 20 years you get woke to these F'n owners and all of their buffoonery. When it comes to the Texans I am coming to the conclusion that it is Janice that has to sign off on everything and she is really making a mess of it all.

Regardless, from what I've been reading and paying attention to, which isn't much, seems like Watson was a different person before and after the contract extension. I mean, if he has issue, take it up with management, who was trying to reach out to him and he refused to answer per reports, don't make vague Twitter posts making half ass attempts to call the organization out. Starting to feel like a James Harden situation to me.

Smh.

I wish Watson would say what his big issue is.
They can all go to hell.

If there is truth to this, then ship his ass off. That should begin what should be a complete flush of our roster with the exception of Reid and Tunsil. Wipe the board and start over. Let the new HC direct Caserio in building his new roster.

Even the mock drafts are starting to think Watson will be elsewhere next year....
CBSSports

Earlier this week, rumors swirled about Deshaun Watson potentially being traded to the Dolphins after ESPN's Chris Mortensen tweeted a source speculated to him the Texans quarterback would consider being dealt to Miami.
While this is bound to be a gigantic offseason news story in the NFL, this is my first opportunity to include its impact on a mock draft. In this mock, the Dolphins and Texans agreed to a deal that includes the following compensation:
- Texans get: No. 3 overall, No. 18 overall, 2022 second-round pick, Tua Tagovailoa
- Dolphins get: Deshaun Watson, 2022 fourth-round pick
That's actually not a bad deal... much better than some of O'Brien's...

I wonder if Caserio can see the bumbling over the last 18 years. If he’s had that conversation with Cal how McNair decisions have more often than not been to the detriment of the team.

We’d all like to see McNair take a step back & let football people make football decisions. Has Cal come to that realization, can Caserio get him their.

Whether Easterby is here or not, if Cal doesn’t take that step back we’re going to continue to repeat the past.

I was thinking the only way this gets fixed is for Janice & Cal to sit down with DeShaun & his momma.

Taking Tua in the deal is like O'Brien taking David Johnson in the Hopkins deal. Crap. Let the Dolphins deal Tua, then send that compensation to the Texans. Doubt they get any more than Arizona got for Rosen.

And taking bad contracts from the Texans would have to be a given in any deal. And the Texans have plenty.

Janice McNair is who makes things run. I may disagree with the decisions but Watson and all the others below her including Cal are employees and serve at her pleasure.
