30 is the new 20: Green Bay Packers

That highlights just how bad it is. How many times did you see him running in circles behind the LOS today?

How many times did you see Aaron Rogers run in circles behind the LOS, EVER?

You’re right, Watson is the only good thing we got. But the gap between what we’re getting from Watson right now & the NFL standard, is huge.

Circles behind the LOS.

What do you expect him to do when the line is that freakin atrocious?

They are so bad the running game is a non factor.

So you expect him to rise up against all odds and Texans adversity to live up to a standard.

I mean are we not factoring in those obvious things Thunder?

Everybody here that disagrees with you is ignorant, is that what you're trying to say?

You passed being legitimate critical of Deshaun long time ago. You reached new height the day he was drafted. You and few other legit wake up and hop on here and just give unfair hate all day long.

I don't get why some blast Watson today, was he perfect? No ofcorse not. The issue here is the defense.....they can't stop anybody. The Packers didn't even need to try to run the ball and we all know how terrible we are against the run.

Not blasting him,

He was very avg today, certainly not elite.

Like I said I dont hate anybody.

Let me ask you for your evaluation of DW4's play today. Maybe we can find some common ground. I'll start, he wasn't bad.

A lot of folks are just saying the things he can improve on he isn't - you don't have to run in circles when the line sucks, make a decision and DO it - take off or throw it at the feat of your hot read, that what Brady, Brees, Rodgers try and do - avoid the sack. I understand he has elite escapability but he needs to pick his spots better.

There was an instance today where there he was outside the pocket with no chance to get back to the line of scrimage, just toss it out of bounds, but he tried to be superman, wasn't and we lost even more yardage.

He needs to be a leader, and clean up the mistakes so he can hold his teammates accountable.

I love the kid and want him to succeed but he needs to continue to grow.

They offered that money to Honey Badger, he laughed at them. They offered that money to Murray & he jumped on it.

The lesson they learned was they made a good offer to Honey Badger & he overvalued himself.
Murray had a decent game against an O’Brien led Texans team, and only because of that he was vastly overvalued by BoB. Good game against the Texans = really good player.

I agree, but with a QB like Watson you get the good and the bad. He turns those plays into huge gains and big time plays for us. We need someone in his ear teaching him when to pick his spot. He isn’t going to learn it on his own.

False

Like why did he let 30 seconds or more run off of the clock down 2 scores with 3 mins left in the game before he called a TO? Who's in charge of teaching him that? BOB couldn't teach him, Carl Smith couldn't teach him, Kelly cant teach him.

Again tell me who can teach him?

Probably the same guy that kept calling run plays when we down by more than 2 scores. At this point we don’t know what the coaches are teaching.

No quarterback is picture perfect, they’re going to make mistakes . Some will be the same mistakes.

The youngster is trying his freaking best to win. You guys should know what type of situation he’s in. Yes he could’ve thrown it away here, or pitched it there. But didn’t he not make some plays today? Did he get any freaking help from his supporting cast?

It just crazy to me on the skit this kid has to put up with during his short and early professional career. And yet we the fans wants to nitpick and complain about what he did wrong.

Oh and I’ve watched plenty of Rodgers and Wilson games. And they made some of the same mistakes. And they’re still playing like that today. Wilson will throw it away on occasions. But you will see them running in circles too.

Waiting behind the brushes and rocks, hoping for Watson to mess up.
Not posted since the day of the Jags game when Watson looked great again soon as OB was out the door.
This week we came out with a questionable game plan again and yes, DW came up just short on both FG drives where we threatened to come back into it. But again, a decent game overall from him.

Watson is having a low-key good season, not had a bad game yet this year despite the turd of a scheme he’s been given.

It’s sad how many records this guy is breaking despite being held back on this trash team. Again heard one along the lines of best QB stats on a worst record team today.

The point is this should be common knowledge for a QB that's been in the NFL for 4 yrs.

Getting better as a team is not going to start with Kenny Stills or Pharaoh Brown. It’s gotta start with Watson being smart. With Tunsil playing to the whistle. With Nick Martin blocking somebody.

People getting paid like the best players in the league need to start playing like the best players in the league.

This team is not going to get better until the coaching is completely changed.

And can we please stop talking about the kids money. Something he’s not getting right now.

Again you’re expecting him to overcome all these freakin obstacles while trying to dish him for what Cal decided to pay him.

He just became the second highest paid QB in history and the only guy that is making more has already delivered a championship to his team. I’m sorry are we suppose to feel sorry for someone making more money than most likely all of us on this board combined?

The team is bad, we all know it’s bad and nobody expects them to be anything but bad and no they don’t expect Watson to magically win it all on his own. However the players around him being bad is no excuse for him to keep making the same mistakes this season that he was making his rookie season.

And you can’t blame the coaching because Texans brought in a guy that was largely considered the best QB coach in the NFL. Even a bad scheme or bad call or even bad line doesn’t excuse a QB from running around in circles and trying to play Superman on every play.

I’m sick of this “but he has no help” excuse because not having help is valid for why a team doesn’t win a championship but it is not valid for a QB making the same mistakes over and over. Marino never had a team and it meant he never won a ring but he still was one of the best of all time because he did everything he could to minimizes his own mistakes so at least he didn’t add to the problem.

Watson has no control over his receivers dropping tds or David Johnson fumbling the ball in crucial moments. I agree, he has to play better because he doesn’t have the luxury of being in a functional organization unlike the other star qbs. Watson is showing up. Respect your opinion but he’s been consistent this season.

Good grief. Please explain to me what help does he have? Start with the defense please sir

It's called a Bye week for a reason. I say it's time to say Buh Bye to a few players. Anybody not named Watson should be traded or replaced

It's hard for him to do that when you know what he is made of.........and built for.

But we have a franchise LT, dont dorget that. We all know franchise LTs are the key to a superbowl run.

Never understood how anyone can defend that trade.

I was ok with the trade and when you break it down what it would have cost to get a Tunsil in the draft the trade was actually right on point. Of course at the time I still thought we would have Hopkins and I was praying Devlin would be gone so Tunsil could continue to improve but those are both in hindsight.

People who continue to harp on his contract don’t take the totality of the circumstances which is the problem here. You said oh he’s making this much money well he needs to play at an unrealistic level. Without even taking into account what he’s dealing with, he has no run game, clearly a offensive coordinator that’s in over his head, no support from defense. So people are asking Deshaun to do the impossible without stability/lacking ability from coaching/ management/teammates. I’m sorry but no QB has ever did that so you all will never be satisfied which problems means you should probably let it go because you’ll never be happy.
