Watson or Mahomes? Who is more exciting?

If I were Watson.....I'd fire a few passes off the back of my receivers helmets before taking a sack as a way to engrain in their heads about how far they can run before he doesn't have any time left in the pocket.

They are doing what the coaches tell them to do.

And there's the problem.

They have them "running routes" to their conclusion , no variables , just run that route.

They should be reading a defender and varying the route based off of that.

And you have to know as a WR that if your QB is in trouble , you present your numbers - Head back towards him.

Chiefs quarterback Mahomes has plenty of fans within NFL

“It’s kind of cool to see some of the stuff he does,” said Colts counterpart Jacoby Brissett, who will get to see Mahomes first-hand when his team heads to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday night. “Hopefully he doesn’t do it this week, but the things he can do with the ball, it’s very impressive.”

So impressive that Brissett even said, rather sheepishly: “You just watch and you’re like, ‘Yeah, I can’t do that.’ But it’s fun to see somebody else.”

Brissett isn’t alone, either.

It seems just about every coach tasked with slowing down the league MVP, or defensive guy forced to make a play against him, is simultaneously challenged and in awe by what Mahomes can do.

That’s not exactly common in a league predicated on one-upsmanship, where players by their very competitive nature are often unwilling to admit that somebody else is better than them.

As an NFL fan, I really enjoy Mahomes and look forward to his future. It's a blast watching him play. He's Neo in the football Matrix.

As a Texans fan, I just wish he was in the NFC. . .

Exciting is kinda subjective. For some people it might just equal better.

I found Barry Sanders exciting.

I found Olajuwon exciting.

I find the current Astros exciting.

I find it exciting to watch something so spectacular.

Watson.

Mahomes or not, I probably couldn't care less about KC if you paid me.

Man that Chiefs team is doing everything we wish ours was …. and their QB is doing everything we thought ours might and then some.

KC has never put up fewer than 26 points with Mahomes starting - Our Texans didn't post 26 in the last two home games combined. We should call it the short bus offense.

Mahomes just missed a wide open long ball TD. Scrub. Guess he’s not smart enough to grasp that WCO. Maybe it was his terrible footwork.
Everybody misses passes.

Not everybody has games like Watson had last week. He was inaccurate, (Why do you think he was throwing passes after the post game PC?

Mahomes looked human last night. I like the guy, but I've always wondered how he would respond when he eventually gets injured (just a matter of time in the NFL) and lost some of his weapons.

The Colts played a great game. Man coverage, kept the pressure on, and maybe most important, kept Mahomes off the field with long drives.

Yesterday, Watson was 1000x "more exciting".

The bridge between stupid and useless is short.

I know the word stupid has been thrown around and there are even suggestions of racism. Call it what you will - racism is a hair trigger reaction and I think unwarranted. Stupid is a bit extreme. But Watson DID have a miserable game last week. I think it was a collective stupid honestly (to include schemes and play calling.)

They made a 180 this week and if we give this effort every game its gonna be a good season.

Plenty of QBs have terrible games or stretches, how they bounce back is what matters.

Take Aaron Rogers for instance. Here are the worst statistical games of his career...prior to 2015

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/list/aaron-rodgers-stats-packers-worst-games-of-career/gzfy0854lrh21a39nk8d1uz6x

What about Tom Brady? Has he ever had poor games?

https://www.complex.com/sports/tom-bradys-worst-perfomances/10-12-03-giants

I honestly could go on and on, but I think you get the point. Even in a "great" system (which ours is not) QBs have terrible games. It happens. The defenders get paid too. Watson strives for greatness. Him staying on the field to work on his issues are not an indicator of him being terrible, it was an indicator that he played a bad game and wanted to shake it off.

None of that is the point though. Our EP system is consistently putting our guys at a disadvantage. OB has his own version of it and it requires a lot of things to be perfect, not simply the QB. It's not working, nor has it ever consistently worked. Your opinion cannot dispute that.

I agree with this post except the last sentence. The EP system has and does still work.

Definitely a heck of a coaching job by Reich. Brilliant game plan on both sides of the ball.

Mahomes was looking human even before he got hurt. Like the Lions the Colts were able to get quick pressure on him every time he dropped back.

He was throwing it away quick, granted there were some iffy non-calls that also prevented him getting in a rhythm.

Can't wait to see what BO'b comes up with.

I love that a guy throws for 300+, 8+ ypa, and a score and no turnovers, and still has a shot to take the lead late..

and the big story is superman bleeds too..

F*ck sake if that's not a concession.
Yep. I already consider him elite, so it's really just looking for his Kryptonite.

The Texans might be playing KC at the right time this season, all things considered. It's definitely prove it game.

Why do we have to compare these two? They're both badass
That was the point of the thread. It was to compare how exciting both are for those reasons and to celebrate them both but compare and contrast the differences of how they both play really exciting but in different ways and styles.

The knuckle heads turned it into a raging debate no matter how many times we reminded people of that.

Some people just don't read, and homers always have to go out of their way to show that they've got a cape.

I expect whatever BO comes up with to be outdone by Andy Reid. The Chiefs coming off of a loss scares me more than if they had won. On top off that I have been conditioned to expect that being on the road in a tough place to play like Arrow Head Stadium will lead to nothing but an arse whoopin.

They've had two straight weeks where they weren't going crazy on offense though. That is nice to see.

Mahomes has the luxury of having a better coach, but Watson is in a better position to showcase individual heroics. Ultimately, they are both great QB's. I feel like if we have Watson a better OL, he would be better than Mahomes.

They will have a better ol than the Chiefs this Sunday.

Tweak the offense already!
Wow, y'all think it is rough here in TexansTalk...

How about this exchange at the Chief's forum:

EDave: WHO SAID GIVE UP YOU ASSHOLE. WE JUST AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH. WON'T BE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR. EAT **** YOU ****ING SQUARE.

Bearkat: So, they probably won't win the SB this year, but they get to keep Mahomes, right?

EDave: WHY WOULD HE WANT TO STAY?

EDave: WE AREN'T WINNING IT ALL YOU ****ING RETARD. JESUS CHRIST.

Bearkat: Seems like your caps lock is on.

EDave: GODDAMNED RIGHT IT IS

The best qb won today. Mahomes seems average when he’s under pressure. Can’t say the same for Watson. Before I hear any injury excuses, remember Watson took a bus to a game last year because of his injury and still played well that game. You think I would pick mahomes over Watson because he can sling a football like a baseball or he can throw 10 more yards than Watson? lol that’s silly. I rather have the guy that’s been a proven champion at every stage in his career. This is a humble post. Nothing against mahomes. & yeah the chiefs defense sucks but this is the same defense that got torched by Kyle Allen? Give me the guy that wins.. 1-0

I don't really get the Andy Reid hate on the Chiefs board. Guess every team that struggles at times question their HC... a lot of posters there seem to have a long lasting problem with him. To me the Chiefs look like the team to beat in the next decade, if they clean up their OL. I have never seen so many open receivers as with Reids offense... if I wasn a Chiefs fan, I would be very happy with where the team is at right now, including HC.

Back to topic, I would start to call it a draw. Both can do things that noone else can, both will improvise and something great will happen. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them will be in the top 5 QB discussion every year, maybe top 3... maybe even a Brady/Manning thing...

After what we saw this weekend, it's clear that Watson is the more exciting of the 2 and now has the record between the 2 at 1-0.
