Maybe, though some of the attacks on him did get personal and the mods did nothing about it or at least nothing that would show people "hey this isn't cool". What he was asking for was stupid, not calling BoB "Buttchin", but the follow up on that was a little out of hand.
I believe that to be 100% accurate. There was never a search.
There probably has never been a real GM search in the entire history of the Texans
More beauty parlor speculation. I'm not saying I disagree because I'm ambivalent. But I can say with certainty that you guys are wrong.
I thought the post was ridiculous enough to not warrant the sarcasm emoji. Obviously not.about what? If you're so certain, prove them wrong
So you're asserting nothing and have the 'benign' position that we may have or may have not tampered. But those that assert we tampered put beauty parlors to shame with wild speculation but not based on any assertion of yours that we didn't tamper because you're not asserting anything. Got it. Thanks for clarifying.
Wait. I thought we were in the Milky Way. When did not being in the Milky Way happen?
Marriage taught me to give up hope on some people being logical. So no worries. I've learned to not expect it in everyone.I’m done with your “logic”

If you read this MB seriously you will become the most negative hate filled fan around. I simply see an attempt to get a GM that was believed to be the best fit for the organization but unfortunately it involved the worst rule manipulating and cheating organization in the NFL. Look at the good side. There is good news coming out of the mouth of coaches and players that point to a lot of optimism and cohesiveness among the players. There is good news and interesting new players to follow with their development. Chronicle today ran an article that states our TE coach believes Warring just might be really special. He’s been showing the ability to create separation behind the defense, he is one of the best conditioned players in the weight room, etc. this board, however, with all the verbal abusing of the coaches and organization, ass face butt chin HC and so on is just infantile. There is also pathetic bullying here. What happened to Have Mercy for example? I don’t know but this is the best I’ve felt about this team in awhile.
If you’ve been on this forum since day one you do need a lecture.Dude , I've been on this forum since day one …. I know what's what.
What's more , I've had the opportunity to talk to Bob and Cal in the past …. I know more about the inner workings of this franchise than most.
I don't need a lecture.
This team is in turmoil.

If Warring turns out to be the total steal as reported, it further supports they shouldn't have hastily fired Gaine.

Even if not, they should have waited until after the season rather than going the year without a GM
Perhaps...If BO'bs offense can avg 35 points a game we'll win the next 5 Super Bowls.
Average can cover lots of ground. If they can score 35 points every game, I agree. If BO'bs offense can avg 35 points a game we'll win the next 5 Super Bowls.
Unless there was a reason Cal had to make a move.
Pretty much proves that Caserio was and probably still is their only target.Yes but I think if that was the case they would have hired another gm. When they failed to get caserio they got no one

IMO, in any company, you want the best possible employees at every position. If you have a guy that you don’t feel is cutting the mustard then you get rid of him. You have speculated that the Texans bungled trading for Dillard, if that was the case then why would you have a problem getting rid of Gaine? For 2 consecutive off seasons we’ve gone after and missed out on 3 players that would’ve helped the team at positions of great need, perhaps Cal viewed that as a failing of Gaine. By all accounts Gaine is a good personnel guy, maybe he chokes in pressure filled situations and can’t bring himself to pull the trigger. If that’s the case we are better off with out him
On Caserio, if you believe he’s a difference maker what’s the harm in waiting for him? Personally I’d rather they get the best candidate then to make a rash decision just to fill the spot. For good or bad BOB is heavily involved in personnel decisions and we have a cap guru/negotiator in Olsen. Easterby can help with the non FB related issues (sports medicine, strength and conditioning, ect) for the short term.

Then why not fire gaine when caserio is available? Gaine might have flaws but I can't see how it's better to just have no GM at all, or to rely on barzigan and easterby who have less experience in the position

What does a GM actually do in-season?

If you want Caserio give up the draft pick to get him. Atleast that's what the good orgs like the Kraft/ Pats did when they hired BB away from the NYJ's.
Or maybe he thought his offer was fair, refused to budge then got outbid by comparable peanuts. Time & time again.
Last yr he traded for DT and brought in UDFA's like Carter when injuries hit.
His offer wasn't good enough and if some on here are right, it cost him his job.
Is that something that can't be done with Olsen/OB?

I agree, I’m guessing the price the Patriots are asking is too high for the situation, ie a 1st rd pick for a guy whose contract is expiring in a yr. I’ve heard multiple times on various sport talk shows that Kraft is the one that’s pissed. He’s pissed that Easterby left. I’m wondering , as we get closer to the season, if the price will drop to a 3rd and a late round pick. I’d do that in a hear beat and I think it’s fair based on the situation
If I was Cal I would've let it go to God'ell decide the cost of getting Caserio. Cal got whacked by Kraft. Kraft did the exact thing I'm talking about when he hired BB.

Well Barzigan has 14 yrs experience in player personnel. If Barzigan and Olsen work with BOB, it doesn’t seem like they’re missing much in that department.
Gaine has less than 2 yrs experience as a GM. I’m sure an intelligent person can handle the management of the non FB duties. Remember (for good or bad) we have had a consistent medical staff for years and we just spent a ton of money upgrading the weight room, cafeteria and locker rooms. I’m also guessing at this point travel arrangements ect..are not tough to figure out. With all that being said, if you don’t think Gaine is the right guy I don’t see why you’d keep a lame duck around.

I would guess look at picks from cuts or other free agents and trades (like demaryius thomas). I think there are generally still in season moves to be made.
Still, I don't think that's anything that can't be done without Gaine... particularly if he was just a yes man as some stipulated
True, though I wonder if they would have fired him if they knew that Caserio could not interview
