**Official Game-Day Thread** Texans at Colts, Sunday Sept 30, 2018!!

This is a sentiment I don‘t understand. We just won our first game since November, almost a year. Both Watt and Clowney showed up. Watson is looking more and more like rookie sensation. Keke Coutee is legit. Our pass blocking was improved.

Yeah, this game had a lot of bad stuff - a lot of stuff to be angry about and a lot of bad play calls or overall coaching. Our secondary looks almost worse than last years, despite actually good safety play.

But god damn, I take the win - and I am really excited about all the good things i posted...
I hear ya but the problems will persist. This game will get OB a high five on his ass from the mcnair's. They dont see the problems. Dude the colts coach out stupid OB. Well at least he played to win. As for coutee, if some of those targets went to fuller we probably win. Kid had a bunch of easy catches which are conservative catches. I almost think dude is gonna be a crutch going forward.

Our defense is gone. We gotta outscore everyone

Yeah i can see why they went for it, we hadnt been able to stop them since halftime, our kicker misses all the time, and tie is still half a loss
Announcers thought Dolts blew the game trying for the 1st, but I can't agree. The chances they would pick it up were about 9 to 1. If they had, they had a better than even chance of getting in position for a winning FG.

Sure you take the win, but this is a bad football team. Watt and Clowney showed up against a patchwork o-line. Not saying they don't show up against better, but I've yet to see that this year so far. The secondary is almost as bad as our o-line, and yeah, the o-line is still pathetic. LBs can't cover squat. And Bill O'Brien, just so many little things he's bad at. Clock management is still a huge problem with this dude.

Yeah, the win is great, I'll certainly take it over the alternative, but this team is not good. Fortunately, the Colts were a tad worse today.

Great call on the stunt. Otherwise, a lot of crap deep zone calls by Romeo that led to the Colts comeback.

Who’s missing Vrabel?
I'm in the minority but I would rather have him than OB. His team just beat the Eagles and he has them #1 in the division. I'll see how long it will last though. lol

The Texans still had to make a play. A tie was worthless to either team. Hell, a win may only matter in draft order. Someone once said, you play to win the game. No one ever said you play not to lose the game.
Yeah BUT you single handedly breathed life into a division rival that otherwise was for sure left for dead

Jacksonville and Tennessee are both now 3-1, and the Colts and Texans who have the best two QBs in the division are 1-3.

I'm not sure what that means, but I know it means something.

Not a coincidence that we looked better on offense. Davenport didn't play, you saw OB incorporate a few things to help Watson a little and Coutee appears to be a godsend in the slot.

The defense...I saw in some of the last series Crennel put Ejiofor in the middle and kept Clowney and Watt on the outsides. I think this needs to happen more. Ejiofor is already a more polished pass rusher than Clowney is & could
be a problem for those bigger slower guys in the middle.

Yeah, but this team being bad is not the point. Ending a long losing streak is. Otherwise you could just hoope for a 0-16 season to get the first pick.

This team has 3 major weaknesses:

1. O-Line. I believe with one good LT we could almost fix the entire line - maybe throw in a RG for good measure.
2. Corners. Our safeties are actually going good but we are getting killed on outside routes. Again we need a CB1 and that may be it.
3. Playcalling - maybe if O-Brien hands over offensive playcalling to a competent OC we get better - but defensive playcalling was bad today as well. Probably a new coach is needed.

Bad thing is: it‘s almost impossible to get a LT and CB1 in FA - and in the draft those positions usually take some time to develope. But this team is fixable with a couple of steps. But it won‘t happen this year...

The sack where he laid on the ground afterwards and performed a snow angel celebration while valuable time was ticking off the clock? He needs to keep his head in the game since his sack hadn't technically won the game.

What you wanted him to call a time out? You know it's the offense that controls the clock right?

Frank Reich on the 4th down call: “I’ll just address it now. We’re not playing to tie. We’re going for it 10 times out of 10.”

Deshaun Watson was 8 of 9 on throws in 10-19 yard area for 124 yards. One drop for the incompletion. Best Watson has looked in this area since he arrived to the NFL. #Texans

What an arrogant dumb ash stupid answer by Reich. You punt the ball dummy. But hey we will take that win 10 out of 10 times too. Hahaha

Das ist richtig.

OMFG!!

I just got through watching this game on DVR. I don’t know what you guys have been saying .....

.... but they going to crucify that Colts HC up there. He just handed the game to the Texans.

Eh, if it were the Texans and OB punted, he'd be getting crucified.

The Texans hadn't stopped anything all day. I probably would have punted too, but I can understand him going for it.

So if I he Colts complete the pass, go on to get into FG range and Vinateri kicks the game winner, Reich makes a great decision?
If..
If....

It's like so clearly stupid decision

I doubt an NFL team has ever won an OT game under new rules going for it on 4th down on that part of the field or maybe ever. I'm sure the precedent was extremely weak for that call. Success probability rate of that decision was next to 0% -.1%.

By who. And eh if they don't make it , the crucificaion would have been worse. Especially with the state of our team.

The second line of your post is why the first part of your post doesn't matter. Unfortunately.

Unless we Real off 11 straight wins this is a pointless one.

I'm all about being negative but this is extreme.

The next 8 would be nice, 9-3 after 12 games is a nice way to go into December. Not that I think it could happen.

At 1-3 I think our season is all but over, winning the next 2 ('boys & bills) would make the Jags game interesting. Imho losing either of the next two would finish the season.

Chances of winning the Super Bowl is nil... But I didn't think they were going to win the Super Bowl anyway. Mathematically it's still possible to make the playoffs.

There's still a lot of growth that I would like to see on this team short of winning the Super Bowl.

You have to feel sorry for him. He made the right call and it backfired.

If he had punted, would the game end in a tie under the present rules?

Win is a win.

No it's not.

This mentality is why we've had Bill O'Brien for 5 years now and why people think "doesn't matter Brian 2 times division champs Brian" matters even in the slightest.

A win is not a win when you continue to exhibit the same exact failures that have plagued your franchise for years on end. You're going to fall into a few wins along the way and it's sure as dick not sustainable against teams that are actually good.

Glad to see the Texans won today. I have gained confidence in Watson, but my confidence in the OL and the secondary couldn't be lower. It feels like the defense of 2010 all over again.
