Any given year a team can have things fall into place and make a run without a franchise QB. If you want to win consistently though, year in and year out, that usually only gets done with a franchise QB.
Maybe this year things fell right for 3 teams, maybe not. We'll see what the Jags do with their QB situation moving forward, but who's to say that Case, and even more so, Wentz, aren't franchise QBs? If Case has found his place there in Minnesota, his first 38 NFL starts are very similar to Steve Young's 1st 38. And I think guys like Wentz and Watson could very well be the next generation of elite QBs that the Brees, Brady's and Rodgers start passing the torch to.
