Being that we’re the worst team in the AFC South, are we or should we be happy for the Jaguars?

Having lived in Minnesota for the majority of this century, I hope they make it to the SB and beat whoever else is there. I don't care if it's Jacksonville. The Vikings bad luck far exceeds that of the Texans.

As for Case Keenum, I'm very happy for him. That said I'd rather have Deshaun Watson going forward. Somehow all the people posting on this board about the Texans not keeping Keenum have totally forgotten about Watson.

This is going to be a long off-season.

As a Cowboys fan I loved seeing them lose.

With Houston & Dallas out I'd love to see mini-Tark Keenum and the Vikes win one.

Funny Roger Staubach story, he said Fran would argue with the refs and toe the ball before a 1st down measurement.

If you are satisfied other team winning, you'd probably be one of the guys being happy another guy got the bachelorette. Once Texans out, I seldom watch NFL exclusive of SB.
What the? Sucks for you, as you definitely missed a hell of a game yesterday by limiting yourself. I watch as much football as I can because football season just flies by.

I am okay with the Jags getting in the playoffs and advancing a few games because their fans are overlooked and marginalized for not supporting what has been a piss poor product for a long time. Their fans deserve to see their team have some success.

However going forward I would hate to see any team in our division win a title before we do. That goes for other teams as well but for some reason to me it would be harder to swallow if it were a team in our division.

Such as the 2006-07 Colts?

I'd rather Darth Belichek take it than the Jags, even if it does make their tarps cry.

So after pointing out that 25+ other coaches have made it to the AFC/NFC championship game within their first 4 seasons, during the Texans history, excuse after excuse was posted... after all, that's what many Texan fans do... make excuses. One of the most common was the lack of a "franchise" quarterback. So here we are with the AFC/NFC Championship games next weekend and what have we got. Doug Pederson in his second season with his back-up QB that just beat a good Atlanta team to get there. Doug Malone in his first season with a "trash" QB, that just went on the road and beat a good Pittsburgh team and my favorite Mike Zimmer in his 4th season. My favorite because he took a QB that wasn't good enough for our Texans and just beat a future Hall of Fame QB to lead his team to the NFC Championship game. But as a Texan fan, what do we get. We get a brand new 5 year plan with a coach that's already had 4 seasons to show he can't get there, coming off a 4-12 season. While the Raiders are willing to spend 100M on a proven coach the Texans extend the contract of a proven loser.

Let the excuses begin... again(not that they ever stop!)

Dude, just go root for another team. You and KDog are fkn miserable on here.

We aren't the worst team; I can argue for the Colts and Titans depending on what they do with their coaching situation.

The Jags like the Astros suck for years and hit on their high draft picks. They also spent a ton in FA to get the right guys. That Jags team almost lost to the Steelers and Bills in the playoffs. We will be fine.

I find it impossible to root for teams in the AFC South and the Pats are my 2nd fave team, so I'll be pulling for a Vikings-Patriots Superb Owl.

I'm the same way. Screw the Jags, Titans, and Colts. I want them all winless every season.

And I have no problem if Brady/Belichick win a 6th ring. A lot Houston football fans are conditioned to hate greatness and just become haters because teams are good. That is the primary reason behind decades of Cowboys haters, and now it just extends to the Patriots.

First I'm pulling for Case & the Vikings but after them I'm on board with the Jags. An I'd love to see you-know-who welcoming the Jags owner Mr.Khan to the White House after winning it all, that would be very cool. Sorry for interjecting politics, but sometimes the respective paths of Sports and politics do cross.

You do know that Shad Khan was a supporter and donated over a million $ to his campaign, yeah?

Source: Four NFL team owners gave $1 million each. Woody Johnson of the New York Jets, Daniel Snyder of the Washington Redskins, Robert McNair of the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Shahid Khan all made donations in 2016.

Viking bad luck might exceed the Texans, but it certainly does not exceed the bad luck of Houston, Texas. At least the Viking have been to FOUR Super Bowls (and they won an NFL championship in 1969), which is four more Super Bowls than any Houston football team.

Do you think Bills fans are "hey we got our ass whooped in 4 straight SBs?"

I'm working in Akron Ohio right now and there are still a lot of Browns gear being worn. They seem to know they suck more than any other team.

That's the thing. Despite being born and living in Austin, growing up in Dallas, I'm a Texans fan 1st. (I still dream of an all Texas Superbowl but that's because I'm a Texan).

In pre-game shows yesterday, NFLN showed a huge pep rally parade they had in Cleveland. Not to celebrate 0-16 (far from it), but rather just celebrate being football fans. This is the passion of a fan base that made the NFL keep the Browns name and history in Cleveland when Art Modell moved his team to Baltimore. I'm kinda' rooting for the Browns to make some noise in the years ahead, just for the fans.

Meanwhile, in Houston, I think it was all of four people that showed up to keep the Oilers history. *yawn*

It was a pretty cool "parade". Some Lions fans even showed up to show solidarity, I guess. It was WAY too cold that day for this Texan to be out and about. It was just another day for these crazy NE Ohians.

The Oilers didn't have near the history the Browns do, good and bad.

wait why do we hate the jags? as far as i know, it's been kinda one-sided with how often we tee off on their tarps

The Jags, Tits and Dolts can all lose for the rest of eternity. If the Pats win again, so be it. But **** the Jags, Tits and Dolts ever winning.

I'm on the Vikings bandwagon, BTW. Love to see Case win it then watch the offseason to see where he lands.

I'm fine with the Jags success. It should show Bob how miserable his team is run.

Also, I'm still feeling happy about the Astros winning the World Series to be jealous of the Jags.

All I know is if the Jags win the Super Bowl some members of this board will lose their minds.

"Why can't we be more like the Jaguars!".

"The Jaguars front office knows what they're doing. Ours sucks!!".

"Buttchin is a big, fat idiot!! Doug Marrone is a genius! Argghh!!!".

"The Texans players and coaches should be forced to watch Jacksonville win the Super Bowl 5,000 times straight! Don't let them sleep, eat or drink until they've finished!!!".

"I'm going to burn every Texans gear I have left!!!".

"We should have drafted Blake Bortles! I hate Bob McNair, Cal McNair, Slick Rick Smith and Buttface O'Brien! They're all morons and so are their mothers for having them!!!".

"I'm going to crap on OB's front porch tonight and light it on fire and ring the doorbell! I won't even run away! I'll just stand there and punch him in his stupid chin!!!."

Jaggies winning the SB is a violation of the natural laws of the universe. It can't happen. Don't worry about it. Be much more afraid of the frigging Brady Bunch and the nausea that will ensue if they win again.

Go Vikings!

Minnesota? yeah..that is a disappointment I did not see that in game but replay was cool enough.

While I’m no Pats fan, I give credit to where it’s due. I just don’t understand why Brady gets so much hate, besides him just being unbelievable. I remember asking a few guys why they didn’t like him and their answers were “cause he gets mad when he loses and cries.” I was dumbfounded by those answers, as the guy is probably the ultimate competitor. Who the hell is happy to lose? See what participation trophies do to people...

I know I never wanted those types of losers in any of my teams growing up. I wanted to win and if you weren’t on the same page don’t even bother talking to me or trying to be cool with me, as I didn’t want to deal with you.

Nothing wrong with being good at what you do, and Brady is excellent. He'll go down as one of the greatest and deservedly so. I'm just sick to death of hearing all about Brady and Belichick and the Patriots. However, it is the Steelers who have the most trophies (6), and for some odd reason, I'd still rather see them win another rather than the Patriots, which of course isn't happening this year. And I have no good reason to prefer the Steelers, in fact, I should hate them much more than the Patriots. But for some odd reason I don't, and don't know why.

Being old and senile is a tough job, but it's something I do well. :)

I hear ya, the Steelers are probably my #2 team, them and the Patriots are tied for 2nd in my faves list. I don’t hate the Steelers just because they beat the Oilers, I was done with them as soon as they left town. I can see how people can be tired of hearing about Brady and the Pats, as I hate Curry and the Golden State Warriors for reasons unknown.

Darth Belichek and his evil empire will fall to the Jedi Jags.

If the Minnesota miracle can happen than you can believe the Jags could win a title this season.

Seeing the Browns win a title would be alright by me. The Browns remind me of the NBA's Golden State Warriors and their fans. There are some other examples of teams and fans that seemed to be cursed that finally broke through and won a title. I was happiest for those teams whose fans had a never give up or say quit support of their teams. It is hard to support teams when they repeat the same losing ways but when those teams finally break through I am especially happy for those teams and fans.

The only Muslim NFL owner is a Trumper ? You got to be Bull-shixxing me !
Fascinating stuff DB and another name on that list you provided was also very interesting: Daniel Snyder.
So at one level, he can honestly claim some pretty diverse support.

It took the Jags 4 years to rebuild.

They hired their GM from the Falcons front office in 2014.

So maybe we'll catch up to them in 2021.

Of course that assumes that we are going to try to rebuild rather than "win now" and that the Jags in 2013 were as bad as the Texans now.

Unless I'm really bored, I won't watch the game, I hate both teams. I will say though, that if you make me choose, I'd rather see the Jags upset Brady just to watch Brady cry and Bortles make an ass of himself in the SB.

For the duration of this pathetic NFL season, I'm a Viking fan.

When it's all said and done and the Patriots are holding up a 6th SB trophy, I'll realize that you're somewhere with a really bad taste in your mouth just griping away. And the whiskey that I'll be sipping at that moment will taste a hell of a lot sweeter. :bigboss:

The only thing I am a little jealous of is that they have a better FO and they really really hit on their high draft picks and they find guys like Yannick, Hurns, and Keenan Cole out of nowhere.

I can respect the Pats for what they've been able to do, but no...I wanna see someone else. Having said that, it's more likely the pats get their 6th trophy.

I really think Zimmer and the Vikes have a good chance of beating the Pats this yr. I dont want to see Bortles in a SB. That's a disaster waiting to happen.

I wonder how the McNairs feel about the Jags making it to the AFC Conference Round while us, on the other hand, are a hot steamy pile of crap? They ain’t that much older than us, so we can’t use the “we’re a young franchise tho” excuse here. I know I’m not happy for them, f*ck the Jags!

The changes to the Jax’s front office and coaching staff have made a tremendous difference. It’s so weird watching them do good.
There's no secret to the Jags success _ they've been averaging about 3 wins a season the 5 years before their 2017 breakout season. In other words there's a reason
for that teal-colored tarp that's been covering those thousands of empty seats for most of the current decade.
You draft that high year after year after year well eventually it pays off and that's even after you blow top 5 picks with folks like Bortles & Fowler.

Tell that to Cleveland

Tell that to Cleveland

This is the yr Dorsey and co get this thing turned around. The Browns may have sucked but Sashi left the Browns in a great spot in the draft in FA and the draft. (Thanks Ricky)

If Darnold/Rosen (Who I think are both franchise QB's) can produce like I think they can. Believe it or not the Browns future is very bright now that they've brought in Dorsey/Wolf/Highsmith.
