I can see this as being the upset game of the decade. Texans have a defense that can get after Brady. Remember, we were devastated when JJ went down for the year during this game. Those boys lost their spark. Well, it's been found gain in JD. Them Pats is gonna be sorry they overlooked this defense.

A 40 point loss is no different than a 1 point loss. You go home for either. The Texans battling and making a game of it will make no difference when it's all said and done. It will still be Texans can't beat the Patriots.

Butt hurt? Hardly. I just call obvious BS when it exists. You nor TK has posted anything contrary to what I said. Show me all these other teams that played these elite QB's every week. Other than the NFC East, I'm sure the majority of the league played a schedule similar to the Patriots or worse.
I've just been a member here for like 9 years. I think that speaks for itself. The history of the Texans has been mostly dreadful though, so naturally these types of arguments wouldn't have been accurate for them most of that time.

The last time I saw the Patriots look this good as a team and to be peaking this high at the end of the season like you want was the last time Brady won the MVP and he was the first person to ever win it unanimously. Another interesting similarity about that season is that the Patriots blew out the Jets late in the year in a huge prime time game where they totally embarrassed Rex Ryan and the Jets. No one hardly gave the Jets a chance in that game especially after getting destroyed shortly before. I'm not saying any of this means anything, but it sure does have a lot of similarities involved.

I'm dead serious. Lol! I just started thinking deeply into this match up and one thing after another seemed exactly like the Jets match up. That was one of the biggest upsets in playoff history if you ask me, and this match up is being called one of the worst match ups in playoff history as well with one of the biggest spreads in history.

Maybe you forgot the 2014 season? Because the Patriots were stacked then and looked very dominant going into the SB against the Seahawks. We know how that one ended. While the Patriots enjoyed much success from 2007-2014, they hadn't won a SB since 2004 until 2014. 10 years. That 2014 SB took the monkey off their back and Brady has been playing very relaxed and lights out since then.
This Patriot team is different than the one you speak of when they lost against the Jets. That Jets team is also different than this Texans team. To say both had/have good defenses is just scratching at the surface. That's about where the similarities end. We all know the NFL is a game of match ups. The Jets historically have played the Patriots very tough, regardless of each team's record. They are division rivals. it comes down to how does each squad on each team this year match up against the other.

That's a good call.
One of our more astute Patriots beat reporters (Mike Reiss) picked up on this a week or two ago - as it happens, Brady and the Patriots are also VERY AWARE of the similarity of the situations.
You may have seen Brady imploring his team (and himself) to stay in the moment in the build up to this game - something they didn't do in 2010 - they looked past the Jets and they paid a huge price.
I think that game left a few scars on Brady.

I expect the Houston Texans to win tomorrow night and advance to the AFC Championship for the first time in franchise history. And I'd love to see them play at Pittsburgh for the AFC title if possible. Perhaps they can chase some ghosts and find some redemption for when the Houston Oilers were robbed a long time ago in the AFC Championship against the Steelers. Football has a funny way of going your way after years and years, decades and decades of futility. Ask Tampa Bay and New Orleans! This is Houston's year, the stars are aligned, Super Bowl 51 at NRG Stadium is waiting for us!

Look for Nuk to be double teamed by CB Logan Ryan and S Devin McCourty; and for shutdown CB Malcolm Butler to be in single coverage on Fuller. This was effectively used in this season's earlier game. If Oz tries to force the ball to these receivers, look for interceptions. But one thing that Oz does fairly well is to find his TE's.

I like your thinking. I was thinking on this last night and I was thinking, 3 possessions without scoring and Savage goes in. Also, 2 possessions without a first down and he's yanked. I would keep all the QB's on a short leash and substitute frequently.
Brady is averaging 31 points at home and we have never beat Brady at Gillette Stadium.
There is one other advantage that we have this game over the earlier game and that is, Brown is back at LT.
But with Nuk and Fuller likely being blanketed by the Pat's excellent secondary, we need to successfully utilize our RB in the passing game. Miller is hurt, although he will be playing. Grimes needs to be in there.

First: We got to the playoffs on a missed kick by our former place kicker, Fat Randy
Second: Derek Carr breaks his leg is out for the last two games that makes them the 5th Seed and pushing KC down the road.
Third: Savage gets a concussion and forced to sit. (I don't think he would have won the Raiders game, he's a rookie), which forces brock to step in and step up.
There just feels like a vibe. JMO.

Sadly you're correct. 29th scoring offense in the league against the number one scoring defense in the league... We're screwed. I will root like hell for my Texans to upset, but this one is going to be frustrating as ****. Going to NE in January against Brady and Belichik is not a winning recipe.

The problem I have is that I do believe we have the talent to make a real fight of it, with the right game plan. But I have no confidence OB will have a winning game plan. I'm anticipating they will pretty much stick with what they've used all season, playing complimentary ball.

I think our defense could hold up if our offense was half a sheyot. If i had confidence that brock could have shown me anytime this season that he could get hot and sling the rock. I would be excited. This Snuffleupagus offense sucks. Slow and unsteady doesn't beat a Brady offense.
