Playoffs...Divisional Round...New England Patriots!

It all starts and ends with the qb.

This. I really think between Watt and not having a competent QB the Pats were given an easy opponent. As a neutral bystander watching the game that pick he threw in Hopkins direction was one where any decent CB read his eyes and he didn't go through his options. He forced a throw he had no business making and that is part of his issue. Just not a high football IQ, which you need bigtime at the most important position. He also doesn't come across as a leader on the team, which IMO is a must for QB. You could see the team sag as he played like garbage.

We know Osweiler played like crap.

Did anyone else on offense play well enough to win yesterday?
How can you tell if the QB can't get them the ball??

Five 2nd-half possessions; one FG, one punt, and THREE INTs.

It wasn't a Hoyer-level meltdown but it was a close 2nd.

Might have been a completely different game if that beautiful pass he threw to Fuller becomes a TD. Maybe hers confidence, and plays better the rest of the game. I guess we'll never know once that huge potential momentum gainer left the grips of their hands.

But hey, you guys got speed!

All the Texans negativity aside, it's going to be happy days when the Patriot's are bad again. Those Pats fans up that have never known a time when the Pats were the laughing stalk of the NFL will be like that Game of Thrones character that got his junk chopped off. At one point he was boffing every woman he came in contact with, including that ugly wildling and now he's dickless. I'm talking to you Patty Patriot. Get prepared.

The Pats aren't going falling off any time soon. If they keep Jimmy BB will stay a lot longer, and they'll stay at a high level for good while.

Thanks for taking my fleeting happiness away. Maybe Belichick will trade Jimmy to us...hahahahahaha!!!! Good one, me.

We had that opportunity last season, and Texans fans in here thought they were to good for him. The year before that they thought they were to good for Phillip Rivers.

This is why I laugh my ass off when fans in here ***** about a QB every season. They never learn. Most of them have more confidence in whatever backup we have on the roster. I hope we get some new ones this off season as it will be interesting to see what new backup all of a sudden has "so much potential if he could just get a chance." Lol!

Texans D did a great job pressuring Brady up the middle while only rushing 4 And they took away the slants and short stuff so well Brady was throwing "Chuck it and hope" balls so much he could have been Joe Flacco for much of the game. That is absolutely the recipe to beat Brady, and Romeo and the boys executed it very well. That defense is really something to build around.

Wow, I did not realize that. That is Prime Time Brock. We can't win with him and everyone on the team, front office, everyone, should know this.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was 6-6 as our starter
Brian Hoyer was 5-4 as our starter
Osweiler was 8-6 as our starter

It shouldn't be a question that we can win with Brock. May not be easy. May not want to put money on it, but they know they can.

If you want to bring in Phillip Rivers or Drew Brees in, I'm all for it. But I'd rather see Osweiler in year two than some other nobody in year one. That includes Savage & Garoppolo.

You actually want Brock back? Lol! Wow.

Who can you even say this with a straight face? Osweiler is a bust plain and simple. There is one starting qb worse than Brock. He consistently throws into double coverage or over throws his receivers or throws behind them. Every now and then he scrapes together some good throws but they are few and far between. What in the world would give you any logical reason to be ok with Brock as the staring QB over anyone else?

Let me be nice and put it this way.

If you cant see how bas Os is, you will never be able to see how misplaced your confidence is. Another yr will show you even more. I'm afraid you're like a druggy/AA guy in denial when it comes to Os.

In another thread you asked why Os could throw several good throws in a row and then throw some terrible throws, the answer is who knows, who cares, it is what it is and I've never seen it 1. Be fixed 2. A worse starting QB.

The numbers say it all. 4 times this yr Os threw the ball 40 times for less than 200 yds and that has only happened twice since the 1950. Blame that on BOB if you want, but that's historically bad QB play and even if Os improved he still wouldn't be good enough to win a SB. Do you think Os is clutch/is a leader, what is his most redeeming quality?

Os most redeeming quality to me is that he's very giraffe like.

If he ever threw the ball slightly ahead of the receiver then there might be a few extra yards after catch.
There were a handful of throw like this. At first I play pumped whenever they happened. After week 10 I was shocked whenever they happened. That is what Brock plays like. It is surprising when he plays well.

Spoilered for size....

You actually want Brock back? Lol! Wow.

There was a caveat. If we can get Rivers or Brees, I want Rivers or Brees.

Remember with Fitz we were like, "Not bad being his first year in this complicated system" then Mallet & it was like, "Too bad he got hirt, he knew this complicated system." Then Keenum, Yates, ".... complicated system.."

Then last year we got Homer & it was like, "WTF??" Then we do the whole carousel thing again & it's all, "Complicated system..."

Then we signed Brock & we were, "Complicated system..."

I'm tired of this complicated system. So unless we get an established QB with enough cache to say, "Nah, we're going to do it like this." OR, "I see what you're saying... but it works better for me if we tweaked it like this... eh?"

If we start Savage, all you're going to hear next year, "Better than Brock but it's a complicated system." If we somehow get Garoppolo, "Better than Brock, but it's a complicated system" I know, some people think it's the same system he's learning in New England. But it's not. Now Garoppolo has the wheels to improvise & make this work... maybe.

But like I said in another post, I'd rather see Osweiler year two instead of having to deal with, "complicated system" again.

Get Rivers, Brees... get Eli... but I'd rather not bring another young QB into this "complicated system" again.

How about we chuck the "complicated system?" It has never been as effective as our old QB friendly system.

We led the league in passing and rushing (different years) with that crappy simple system.
They ran the guy who knew that system out of town (justifiably) on a rail.
But I hear there's another who knows it (he used to work here too) but, right now, he is quite busy making Matt Ryan look like a super stud someplace in the South.
Same city we found Schaub in I believe.

there's probably a six degrees of separation joke in there somewhere
