Who else thinks the Texans are going to crash and burn in 2015

I ain't mad at ya. I'm saying a win over the Bucs doesn't mean this team is transitioning into a winning team.

I agree.

I'm happy with the win. But I don't think this is a good team. However this team isn't all bad. There are some positives. Some may not like mallet (and personally I'm still looking at qb's in rd 1 at this point), but he provides some optimism for me because I saw him improve from week 2 to week 3 as the full time starter. Still need more before I'd feel comfortable with him being given the reigns fully, however I don't feel it's an impossibility.

There are a a lot of problem areas on this team, but I finally feel like we are progressing towards finding a franchise qb which is the most important thing.

Once we do that, the other stuff will be a cakewalk comparatively speaking.

One thing I do like about OB is that he seems to be a quick learner and he's quick to rectify mistakes.

Like if sua filo doesn't get it together I have no doubt that guy will be gone and not be here over staying his welcome.

I have no doubt that OB recognizes the draft issues in the mid rounds and with taking nix, and perhaps strong (too early) and I'd expect him to focus even more on those issues.

But make no mistakes about it. I'll be one of the first to tell you the team sucks and that I'm not a fan of the way the team has been run and a bunch of decisions...most people here will voice that to some degree. You have different levels in the spectrum.

But at the end of the day many people are pationate about the team. It's like if you have s sibling...you can talk bad about them...but if your cousin starts saying a bunch of negative things without ANYTHING positive or productive at all it just makes you cringe.

Right now, you are that cousin.

Jeezus guys, you all know this franchise sucks. There's a new thread out there by Atlanta fan everyone is laughing at because they rag on the Texans and the memes are true. Stop giving my **** for just speaking truth.

Once Kubiak was let go it's a new regime. A new beginning. This new regime took a 2 and 14 team and made them respectful in one year. Now in their second year they are dealing with a ton of key injuries while trying to develop their QB. Despite these adversities Mallet has looked better each week. You are not happy because your expectations were unrealistic coming in. This is a team that without injuries is a decent team that needs a solid qb to complete it. The truth is that they're heading in the right direction with Mallet. As long as he continues to improve every week we will continue to head in the right direction.

If Mallet crashes and becomes the next subpar Schaub then we will move on to the next QB and try and develop him. Some of us understand that finding your franchise QB is really hard and understand that You have to be patient. Some of us are whiney little spoiled brats who are going to pout and throw tantrums. Guess it's obvious which group you fall in.

I don't care who laughs at us, and no this franchise does not suck. That's like going to a Mormon community and telling them Mormons suck. Barking up the wrong tree.

Agree with you, except what part of the new regime is Rick Smith?

No, you're not. And that was never the problem (with the exception of redundant off topic comments in content-specific threads).

A lot of people are not happy with the Texans front office right now, and that is understandable. This forum is full of different perspectives in that regard.

But, check yourself when you start talking **** about fans in general or other posters. That is where the line in the sand is in this forum.

And quit acting like any of the Texans problems are because of fans. We have absolutely no control or even influence on operations at Kirby. And honestly, that's probably a good thing.

Is that a chick with a baby face mask on?

Oh, and truroyalty.. not to bust your balls but *passionate.

We'll talk all day long about what's wrong with the Texans and do it with just about anyone who comes in here but I think that once people start to get the idea that your negative comments about the Texans are more about stirring up **** (whether that's correct or just a mistaken perception) things go south real fast. After all these years we pretty much know who's going to pump sunshine out their fourth point of contact no matter what happens and who is going to be complaining about Rick Smith or Bob McNair until the sun burns out. Hell I'm pretty sure that steelbtexan is going to be pointing at the screen as McNair hands the Lombardi trophy in a cloud of confetti to Rick Smith and saying "That sumbitch needs to be fired NOW!". We keep talking with and keep listening to all of these people because we still get the sense that they're fans of the team. When you don't get that part across anymore you might as well be a Falcons or Colts troll coming in here on game week to pee down our backs and crap in our Cheetos.

Nobody's interested in keeping that going for long.

Every one of you who blasted the OP, needs to apologize to him right now.
The Texans are a ******* train wreck.

On a totally unrelated note, I have three seats in section 648 plus a Platinum parking pass that are available for face value.
I might consider deducting the money I will save from not buying beer at the stadium from the asking price.

I blasted him because he thought we would win 7 games.

I said, we won't win 7 games.

I think he needs to apologize to me.

I don't know where you are getting 7 wins from. I've yet to see anything to make me believe the 2015 Texans have what it takes to win 7 games.

7 games......

After going 7-9 in 2004, many people thought the Texans were steadily improving. They went 2-14 in 2005. After their first winning season in 2009, many people picked the Texans to make the playoffs. They went 6-10 in 2010 and fielded one of the worst defenses ever. After turning a 2-14 team into a respectable contender last year, many people were picking the Texans to compete for the playoffs. Not sure if 2020 has a lot of promise either.

It's the Bob McNair Football Operational Business Plan.

Did clicking on this thread open a wormhole that transported me back to 2002?

I can't remember what my exact prediction but was not this dire. This team just sucks and swallows too.

The buck stops here: Bill Obrien.....He picked his coaches & they all SUCK....We can blame the Offense or the Defense or the QB or the Defensive backs etc etc etc....But the real truth is this coaching staff is incompetent and not really very bright. Their bad decisions are too numerous to list. So many people want to blame this season on one of the QB's so the coaches play musical chairs at this position while the defense continues to fall flat on its face, the recievers drop so many balls I stop counting, running game 3 yards & a cloud of dust on & on & on......YES they will (continue) to crash & burn until there's nothing left but ashes for the next coaching staff (in 2017) to sweep up.

I thought this team would win 7 or 8, but after watching the way the defense has played along with the offense, the games i thought they would win, i changed my mind. This is one of the worse teams in football without hope. If you're bad and have a young qb, there is hope. I've tried to warn people that you can have all the 1st rd defenders you like, if ur qb play is average or below, your going to struggle. Every team i. This division has hope except tbe texans right now. The clowney draft was terrible period. Not on only that, but the misses afterward in Sio, Nix, Fedo.

I'm more upset that the Texans believed in this team.

I was not confident in this bunch at all. I had the same feeling I had before kubiak's last year here. Overrated team. Not nearly as good as they thought or a lot of people predicted.

It is about as I expected. That said a losing record could win this division.

It's still early.

I wasn't expecting us to go undefeated. I wasn't expecting to go 1-3 (until Foster got injured). I wasn't expecting to get blown out.

Maybe I should not expect us to win & some of that'll start happening.

Yeah its early good thing that was a road lost and not at home people would be more depressed. Anyways I expect y'all or us to forget about this loss and get ready for the colts well to kill the colts !!!!

Trade Watt. Seriously...

At this point we are wasting his greatness and imagine the picks in return we could get.

Trade Watt, Clowney, Foster, Wilfork, and both our QBs to someone for all their draft picks next year, and their next two firsts.

What's crazy is, the guys with super talent you wish for in the draft with off field issue, they pass (reed v houston, Bryant v Fedo). Then they gamble on a guy like the lsu de, they draft. This team has been slow for years. The explosive plays has been few and far between. There were guys talking about building the trenches, I'm cool when that's the better player, but you should always draft the best player. Whether it's Dez Bryant vs Kareem Jackson or the other countless examples on this roster.

No, trade whatever we need to trade to move up to get what we* judge to be the best QB in the next draft.

*Okay, confession, I no longer have any faith in our talent evaluation. My argument is flawed, I don't trust this management team with that decision.

Apologies are not necessary. I am first and foremost a Texans fan. I am just tired of the losing and us being irrelevant. I didn't start this thread to be an asshole or show how smart I am. I hated the Hoyer signing and didn't like our offseason moves and how we played in the preseason. I am tired that my blind loyalty and my checkbook are being taken as a given with nothing in return. I am tired of the Texans thinking that they are smarter than everyone else and that the rules for success in the NFL don't apply to them. I am tired of subpar personnel and coaching. I am tired of starting over again. I am sad that my loyalty and passion when it comes to this team has been beaten out of me.

As it's been said before , the Texans are a marketing company that own a football team . I saw a team today that didn't show up to an NFL game knowing things were getting desperate . I think when a team does this they are voting someone out .

I said it before. Right now, the way we're playing I don't see us winning 7 games.

But I'm still optimistic that these professionals will get it figured out & all of us will be proud to call them Houston Texans.

Kansas City is a decent team, regardless of their record. The Falcons are better than I thought. Their coaches beat our coaches. No question about it. Splitting Tampa & Carolina is just a wake up call to us Koolaid drinkers. Being good on paper doesn't mean sht.

Indy, Jax, Miami, Tennessee. Four teams still trying to figure out who what they want to be. If we can win 3 of 4 or 4 of 4.... I said if. Then the season may end up being special after all.

If we lose 3 of 4 or all 4, yeah we're definitely one of the worst teams in the league & McNair should put into play whatever "fix" he's thinking of now. I know it's crossed his mind already. Rick will probably be our sacrificial lamb... Or maybe OB. Maybe both.

I'm not apologizing to anybody, least of all this guy. This is his weekly chance to jerk it and he's not going to miss an opportunity.

I actually believe this. By that I mean I actually believe that you believe this.
