Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans. 10/9. 7:25. CBS/NFLN.**Official Gameday Thread**

You know, the thing about the line (and I'm agreeing with you here) is that I look around the league and see teams coping with injury situations on their lines. I see teams from year to year that press multiple rookies into action, start backups who are no threat to unseat the injured guy in front of them on the depth chart, and generally continue to perform at a competent level. I swear I think it happens somewhere in the league almost every year.

Some team gets decimated by injuries and ends up getting quality OL play out of rookies, backups, and sometimes street free agents.

Not us. Our starters are miserable and I don't even want to imagine what our backups are like. Why is finding decent linemen nearly impossible for this franchise?

The oline isn't playing great, but the QB has a lot to do with that. We can blame the oline all we want but if we had Brady, Rodgers, or Manning I bet our oline would look much different.

The defense can pin its ears back because we have a back up as the starter. It's time to try something else. We wont make the playoffs this year so why bother, see what you have.

I was busy the majority of the night and only really caught the 4th quarter.. How the hell did Fitzpatrick throw for only 212 yards when we were trailing 24 points in the 1st quarter?

Secondary is hot garbage
Swaringer can't tackle.

Special teams coaching FAIL.

Dre was the most reliable receiver, until clutch time when he was bad. That fumble was a killer.

Fitz doing Fitz things.

Refs - blatantly pulling for the Colts. Call ticky-tacky hold on Texans, but no calls on many tackles and holdings by Colts OL

JJ Watt - no words to describe him.

Anyone that says this is on the refs more than on a garbage QB is kidding themselves. Oh, and not getting Hopkins the ball is criminal.

I would say if we had a real QB we may have overcome the BS, but we don't so we are screwed. No excuse for tonight's typical Colt Texans game, but par for the course. I thought for a minute the naming rights had changed to Lucas Oil Stadium, because this level of satism is reserved for games in Indiana.

Not a total team comeback, it was a near Foster and Watt come back. Fitz stunk tonight.
Fitz stinks every game. Watt and Foster have been carrying this team from the start of the season.

I say it's time to start Mallett, or heck, Savage, because I'm getting tired of seeing Fitz every game screwing things up.

I think some of you are actually happy it ended that way just so you have more ammunition against fitz or OB or w/e. We had. Real shot to win there at the end. The missed fg, the AJ fumble, the missed calls -- all game changers.

So.....Fitz' fumble....not a game changer. The onsides kick after Indy had done it twice before in other games yet we have nobody near the line.....not a game changer???

Your game-changers are mighty selective.

****************

Austin's KEYE, your home for Texans football, was on it as usual.

"The Texans came out as flat as their town's topography."
"After a couple of Johnson to Foster touchdowns....."

Yes, and the "reporter" actually used the word "redonkulous."

How exactly did he stink?

hmmm let's see, all but one of his drives actually led us to a score. The other was a short field due to an INT in which Foster score, then foster gashed the colts for 58 yarrds and a td on one drive and then JJ had a TD. oh and

1-8 on 3rd downs, he was off often on 3rd downs. He didn't throw an int, but he did fumble towards the end when it counted most. Fitz might not of totally lost us this game, but he sure didn't do much to help us win. Foster is the only reason this game and the Dallas game were remotely close.

You can't put this one on Fitz. It was a total team loss, at the same time almost a total team comeback!

I explained all of that in a previous post in this thread. I understand that.

Doesn't change the fact that Fitz makes bad decisions and always will. You're not coming back on anybody with Fitz back there. That two minute drill outcome was just about pre-ordained. He didn't (by himself) put us in that hole. When the Texans had two minutes to move the ball down the field Fitz put the ball on the ground because suddenly he got it in his head that protection that hadn't been there all night was somehow now a given.

Fitz gotta go.

There's more to the offense than just the QB. Protection was bad. Dre's fumble was more costly than Fitz's. And the TE's need to eventually wake up!

Defense woke up too.

The 1st quarter wouldn't have been so bad if he moved the ball. It was so horrible because almost the entire 1st half was just the Colts Offense vs the Texans defense.

It was also Fitz fault for the blowout in the first quarter

The blowout was the big reason for the Lose, and the secondary was the big reason for the 1st quarter blowout. Secondary=hot garbage.

Team cannot convert 3rd downs. Labhart was great on 3rd downs in preseason, always getting open and catching everything thrown to him. They cut him, and now no one is getting open on 3rd downs. Great thinking.

Believe it our not Lucks protection was pretty bad too, all the holding they were doing just made it look better than it was. We hit him A LOT even while being held and yet he still managed to torch us.

I say our o-line hold a little more and maybe we'll be a little better :kitten:

Not a total team comeback, it was a near Foster and Watt come back. Fitz stunk tonight.

He had a 109.3 QB Rating, completed 65% of his passes, and made some nice throws downfield. You guys see what you want to see. And no, I'm not absolving him of the fumble on the last play, but most of you are determined to hate him. It's quite sad.

Exactly. I don't get why everyone is jumping on Fitz? Every aspect of our team had a hand in the loss tonight.

It's just typical of many on this site...saw the same crap last year with schaub. you'd swear the team only has 1 player on it.

Fitz should have defended hilton so that hilton wouldn't get 220+ yards too

If fitz could of completed a pass in the first they defense wouldn't of been about to die. You know we had -1 yard at the end of the first quarter right. Fitz started off 0-7

Exactly. You can't stop the bleeding or cool down their offense if your offense can't hold on to the ball for more than three plays at a time. The offense just let a struggling Texans defense hang in the first quarter. One solid drive, even if it only produced 3 points but kept the ball for 2-3 minutes would have done wonders then.

He had a 109.3 QB Rating, completed 65% of his passes, and made some nice throws downfield. You guys see what you want to see.
Jesus, I bet you loved Carr and Schaub too. Don't look at the stats, watch the game. Fitz sux. .

Welcome back to the Capers Era everyone.

Arian and JJ carried the team.
DHop, Cush, and Shane did nothing to help.
Dre, Fat Randy, Swearinger, and StinkyPete(R) hurt us.

And BoB's first half play calling makes Kubiak's
play calling look like Chip Kelly's play calling.

I've seen more creativity and ingenuity in
Pop Warner ball..

This one really hurts. I can't stand the colts. Just can't believe how we just can't seem to catch a break to close out the last 2 games
go JJ Watt!!:swatter:

Sucks that we lost the game, but the atmosphere at NRG was off the hook. Had a great time to the very end... H-Town showed up...

I don't hate Fitz, you can look at many threads where i say i like his heart. I don't care about a 109.3 QBR and a 65% completion rating on some dink and dunks + a few bad throws that AJ turned into catches.

Is it to much to ask that we have a QB who can actually help us win some games, and not just have some decent stats for 1 out of the last 3 games.

Fitz is a problem, but theres more to the 1st quarter than him. Offensive line didnt help 23 run either during that time.

Those dinks and dunks helped us be within 5 when it was a blowout.

Maybe the WRs just aren't getting open? Just maybe? Especially on 3rd downs.
Blame Fitz. Last season 3 QBs were blamed and were sent packing. This year could be the same.

Exactly.

With momentum, 4 minutes, and the ball at midfield, Fitzpatrick made a good read and throw on 2nd and 20, hitting AJ in stride and in space for a big play. With nobody within 3 yards of him, AJ fumbles the ball... just drops it on the ground.

Instead of criticizing our $17 million/year WR for fumbling in a key moment without being touched, "fans" whine about Fitz "choking" because he fumbled when hit by a 300 lb guy, while he was trying to make a play since they had to go 91 yards in 2:14 with no timeouts due to AJ's inexplicable fumble a few minutes earlier.

Yeah, lets blame the game on Fitzpatrick. That makes a lot of sense!

I have no idea why this one stings

Nor do I. Almost a phenomenal comeback only to be thwarted by.......us. Horrible calls going the Colts way AGAIN. This one was the first real indicator we have yet another boob as a head coach which spells long-term grief. It was for the division lead.

Other than that it was just another loss that didn't have to be in a whopping 16-game season.

So why does it hurt? Oh, BECAUSE I"M A F-ING FAN, THAT'S WHY!!!!!!!! AAAaaaa......I'm so silly-forgetful sometimes. Yeah, that's why it hurts.

Fitz should have defended hilton so that hilton wouldn't get 220+ yards too

He helped do the next best thing. He was part of an offense that got off the field as quickly as possible in the first quarter so that Hilton would have as much time as he needed to pile those yards up.

Thank you!

The most popular player on the team is always the backup qb.......until he actually steps on the field anyway.

I don't hate him. I don't hate him at all. I like him. I just don't want him to QB the football team I root for. His record speaks for itself.

Fitz makes bad decisions. There are other options on the roster, one in particular that is at the perfect point in his career to either **** or get off the pot.

And so was our pathetic running game with our fanastic line.
