Though Arian Foster and the Houston Texans might dislike playing on Thursdays, they can't complain about the opportunity that awaits them this week.
The Texans can take over sole possession of the AFC South lead by avoiding a fourth consecutive defeat to a visiting Indianapolis Colts team that's seeking a 10th straight Thursday victory.
A day after topping 100 rushing yards for the third time this season with 157 and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss at Dallas, Foster voiced his displeasure with playing Thursday night, games in which Houston is 1-3 all-time.
Despite his disdain for the concept, Foster has averaged 5.3 yards per carry while rushing for 343 and four touchdowns in three Thursday games - most recently Thanksgiving Day at Detroit in 2012.
Foster and the Texans might loathe the quick turnaround, but they should be eager for this matchup between a pair of 3-2 teams that share the South lead.
Facing its first division opponent of the season, Houston has dropped two of three and understands what's there for the taking. The home team has won four of five Thursday matchups this year.
What I want to see:
More. Blue.
Arian had a heavy carry day Sunday, so with the short week, I think Blue should get a few more totes. Definitely a little fresher, so bruising the Colts a bit could be useful.
Pressure Luck, and often.
Get to this guy, and make him struggle. He can, at times, have issues, so this will be key. Not to mention that his OL is a bit banged up.
Offense needs quick start
Offense hasn't scored a TD in the 1st quarter since week 2, so today is the day it ends. Get up on these guys, and start putting some points up. It can be done.
BE LOUD!
Whether you are at home, a bar, BWW, or at the stadium; BE LOUD. Let these Colts know that this isn't going to be any easy night.
That was quick, huh? We just played! Ha. Well, back at it again. However, this is for the early division lead and a leg up in the season series. So, what about this: Get this W, rest for more than a few days, and enjoy the mini-bye week before Pittsburgh. Sound good? Now, the rules are simple; 1-0 every week! Let's show these Colts that we are here for the entire 2014 season. LET'S MUTHA****IN' GO, TEXANS!!!
