So does anyone have any latest news or insight into the AJ situation. Googling it doesn't come up with much other than he's still holding out!!
No new news, it's a quiet time now until camp begins. I don't think we'll see him early but expect to see him join the team at some point in training camp/pre-season.
Andre Johnson spoke at @Nike event in Ore. @MarcusSmith_ asked if hell be a Texan in Week 1: I dont know. I cant answer that question.
Asked if hell be at camp, #Texans WR Andre Johnson told NFLNs @MarcusSmith_ Hopefully. Well see what happens. Camp is 3 weeks away
To me, this is where the rubber meets the road.
We are still in the dark about what, exactly, AJ wants to the team to do. He's not a good WR-diva like the NFL has seen in the past. Those guys always seemed to get their agendas out in the open, but with AJ, all we know is that he's unhappy with 9 of his 11 years as a Texan. But, beyond that, what is his point? Is he going to retire if they don't trade him? Show up but be unhappy? Time will tell.
Keep Hope Alive!!!Andre Johnson wanted nothing to do with Houston's offseason program, but the All-Pro wide receiver expressed optimism on Wednesday that he'd be in uniform when the Texans open training camp later this month.
"Hopefully. We'll see what happens," Johnson told NFL Media's Marcus Smith. "Training camp's three weeks away, so we'll see what happens."
Asked if he'd be on the field when Houston hosts the Washington Redskins in Week 1, Johnson remained vague, saying, "I don't know. I can't answer that question."
The 32-year-old pass-catcher confirmed what NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported months ago, acknowledging that he's "had conversations with the organization" about his future.
"I haven't been public about anything," Johnson said. "I just choose not to talk publicly about it. It's in-house and that's the way I choose to keep it. I'm not a big media guy, so I refuse to talk about it."
In May Johnson expressed frustration with the Texans, openly wondering if Houston was still the right place for him on the heels of last season's 2-14 car crash.
He's under contract through the 2016 season, though, and trading him would bury the team with $11.96 million in dead money against this year's cap.
Our take hasn't changed: It's Houston or bust for Andre.
Based upon what we are hearing from his remarks at the Nike event in Oregon,
this sounds like it's more about money than getting traded to another team that's a contender, but then if it's about money how does one explain him forfeiting a million bucks by not showing up at OTAs ?
Johnson's tactics here are confusing, but even more confusing is his end-game strategy ?

Am I right in thinking his uncle is giving him advice on this? Is that the same uncle who screwed the pooch on his contract to the extent that the Texans took pity and renegotiated to make him the highest paid WR at one point?
AJ may show up unhappy, but as usual (if he doesn't retire), will show up as the consummate professional that he's always been. It would not surprise me if he catches 100+ balls for more than 1300 yards.

Possible solution for #Texans, considering Andre Johnson wanted to show up at 1 time: Guarantee he’s on roster for ’15. Can retire a Texan

This is likely going to get ugly, imo. Feel kinda bad for O'Brien
Pssshhhh.....BOB laughs at this!
Seriously, he comes off nothing really phases him. He plays with the cards he is dealt and expects to win.
Trade him to Oakland and troll his ass.
It might not phase him, but the players? I reckon a lot of players are going to get fed up with the "where's Andre" type questions. O'Brien will be the one taking the brunt of those questions.
Either way, if I were the Texans, I wouldn't do a thing. AJ has no leverage. He'll either report to TC and play. Or he won't and be fined daily.
In the end, he chose to stick with the Texans for the long haul. He's had his chances to bail.
Report: Andre Johnson tells #Texans he wants to play for another team:

So I don't get it...what's the sticking point? Does he want a trade or does he want $1 million from the team? Conflicting reports.

if this is true, he's just stupid to not attend, especially in lieu of a new offensive package to digest. What was more important than this to a PRO football player? I'm really not as enamored with AJ as I was before this off-season. His "better than the rest" status is over for this fan. He is a big disappointment as far as his captain status. Take that C off of his uniform if he comes back. And according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Johnson has told the Texans he wants to play for another team after not being allowed to earn back a $1 million workout bonus.
I agree. I'm a fan of AJ and have tried to keep this situation in a business perspective without emotion.
That said, I'm a Texans fan first and foremost, and no player - not Andre Johnson, JJ Watt, whoever - is greater than the team.
Is it advantageous to move AJ? No. It hurts the team. Bottom line, right now is a horrible time to cave to AJ's apparent demands, simply because it hurts the team and sets a bad precedent.
I like AJ and will not disparage the guy, but as a Texans fan, he's got two choices in 2014: Play in Houston or sit out the season. It's black and white and the ball is in your court, AJ.
also the Texans organization is so stupid if andre wanted to come back and work a little OT to earn a measly 1 mill back why not say OK
now they have gone and messed dis all up LOL by saying NO
aww man dis is sad hes been with us the longest prob on of the greatest players in Texans history and def a bonified entry when we make the Texans ring of fame player
I really don't wanna see Andre leave I think we should give in to his demands lets face it guys hes only going to be with us for 2 more years or intill his contract expires
either way we not going to be good this year with or without him but without out in man this will deff be a boring season LOL
Johnson WAS a team captain.Johnson is a team captain. He wears the C on his helmet. You lead by example and this is an awful example. It's in your effin' contract. Honor it or stop begging for exceptions. It's not what leaders do.

no, it sends the notice out that you can break agreements and we'll just give you a make up test later...this isn't Public School. You have to honor your agreements or you just don't run a professional group. The inmates cannot run the Asylum.all that stuff is irrelevant bottom line he wanted to come back and earn some of that missed money back buy working some extra hours they said NO
but they should of said YES I think hesearned it hes been here forever and none of this would of happened
You may as well bust out your Jabbar Gaffney throwback. I don't think that nuke will be anything close to a 1wr.It's time to let go I guess. Looks like that DeAndre Hopkins jersey is going to come in handy this year doesn't it. Time to step up and be the Texans #1 Nuke.

bottom line this brings to many negatives to the organztion
-negs to the vets we have on the team know feeling has the org is to strict look at what they did to Andre what would they do to me ..???
-negs to bringing in other free agents thinking this place must really suck to come play for
-negs to the media now this will shed more and longer bad light
-Negs to your W/L record without andre ur season is looking more grim
I say the postives would of out weighed the negs if u would of just said yes on this current situation
but the Texans org whats to be hard asses
