I say go for it - play action. Make this play the game changer and try to get a big chunk or even a TD. 18 points down against the Pats in their house? You need a little miracle and you start with a big play...

It's fake punt time Kubiak. If one of the blockers for the punter is a RB, then direct snap it to him
 
I had zero real hope for this team after Cushing was injured anyway. Can't sustain that type of injury and expect things to be the same. This team was not built to sustain that injury.
 
If you think this has anything to do with the defense tyou are crazy.
Was Flacco crying about the defense yesterday?
He kept scoring the damn ball. He is 30 times the qb that Schaub ever will be.

You will be hard pressed to find a qb in the NFL that I would not take over schaub. I would take a lot of the backuos, ours included.

Stop making excuses for the defense, they're getting exposed...They're not tired they havent even been able to get lined up at times and we've gotten eaten alive up the middle in the run game...they are as much to blame as schaub and the offense.
 
Sometimes I think all we need to do is just copy New England's play calling and scheme...you know, do whatever it is that they're doing...hurry-ups, screens, man coverage--it seemes to be working.

No thanks. We did that from 2006-2010 and if anything we're far worse at that. The problem isn't the defense. It's that the offense does nothing in big games. They barely score, they don't even eat clock. They are easily handled by good teams and by not getting ahead or even keeping pace they never give the defense any help.

This is the offense's problem. Gary can't fix it because it's the only way he knows how to run an offense.

The classic Denver Bronco's zone-blocking gimmick is played the **** out. Nobody who is any good falls for this **** anymore. If you run it well enough you can still push around all the bad teams and win some games but your postseason is going to be dependent on avoiding bad matchups like.... good teams.

schaub sucked but the defense was tired after halftime and giving up a td drive on the first possession in the 2nd half?

it's both sides of the ball. it's just neither side can make up for each other.

The two OT games vs Lions and Jags is where I think the D spent all they could spend.

Since then, they have had this attitude that "**** it. We know how this goes down....Gary's offense goes 3 and out, we're back on the field to clean up the mess."

At least Buddy Ryan swung a left hook on Gilbride.
 
Arian would have had that if he would have just punched it ahead instead of trying to redirect out to Talib.
 
With Schaub, Kubiak and Wade everything has to be clicking for them to be successful. Schaub doesn't have the arm, legs, or balls to raise his game and Kubiak is conservative to a fault. I'm also afraid that Wade's system is limited against big play passing offenses.

Nope, he's right. It is the offense's problem. The defense has to be perfect to win this game. Perfect. Every mistake is magnified unbelievably by the fact that the offense isn't doing anything.

Plus we got no Brian Cushing in the middle. Taking that into consideration I'm fine with the way the defense has played. Maybe if the offense would score and make an opponent go one dimensional every once in a while the defense would look a little better.

Then Dobbins and Sharpton go out, along with McCain jn the sexon. Our D suffered too many injuries to be a top 10 D the 2nd half of the season.

Our offense is a bigger problem. Besides Schaub's average play, we have few weapons besides AJ and Foster. OD and Casey are alright, but we have no true 2nd receiving option. Our right side of tge line needs to get better as well.
 
The Patriots move with more urgency with a freaking lead then we do when we're losing. Can we even throw it deep to stretch a defense? They are just sitting on our routes *sighs*
