2011 NFL Draft: Round 2/3, Texans with 42nd and 73rd picks/Thread(Reed/Harris)

Brandon Harris it is.

Well as a possible first round talent to get him now is ok.

No 3rd rounder or 5th which is a bit of a bummer but to get what some call the best cover corner in the draft I can live with.

Would rather of had a safety but maybe they are really high on Glover at FS.

We gave up our 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick which might've been a camp fodder, career back-up for a player picked in the 2nd round. This is like trading a 3rd round pick and Frank Okam for an impact player. Our 2nd round picks has been gold so far (during the Smitiak Regime), albeit it's only been DeMeco and Connor

Effin' steal IMO, and it's Brandon Harris!!

He's considered the best pure cover guy in the draft, IIRC.

He essentially was our 3rd rounder, we lost our 5th to move up.
 
Excellent trade. I thought we gave up a 3rd and 4th for this pick when I first saw it. Never thought the Pats would go for a 3rd and a 5th for a late 2nd! WOOT!

Having a very good draft this year. Watt, Reed and Harris will all contribute big time next year.
 
So we got two guys who were projected to go in the first, and one guy that fell a bit but could have went in the first but he didn't have a awesome year so slipped a bit...

This is much better than drafting Antwaun Molden, I know that.
 
EASILY the best 1st - 3rd round since 2006. Funny thing - in 2006 Casserly was running the draft, and in 2011 this draft has Wade Phillips shoe prints all over it. If anyone thinks that Rick Smith is picking these guys, they are smoking something. Rick Smith needs to be tied up, blindfolded, and thrown in the cloak closet every draft day. Rick Smith was the guy that was killing our defense. He had NO clue at all.

It's amazing to see what can happen when someone that understands defense is making the picks. Amazing picks, and I actually think we have a very good defense this year, especially if we can pick up an Ike Taylor type in FA to go along with Harris. Solid A draft from me to this point.

Dare I say it - after this draft I'm actually getting excited again. :kubepalm:
 
You know that means we have to take one in the 4th then. Although with Wade seeming to have a huge handprint on this draft we might be able to skip that position this year.
 
I love this draft so far, anything else we get is pretty much gravy for me. I don't think they will target specific positions tomorrow, I won't be shocked if we take a RB with our 4th rounder. Rick talked about how he loved the depth at that position. BPA pretty much anywhere is fine with me from here on out.
